20 in a month? That's crazy lol
heycrystal2052 replied to J'kie's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Girl, YES!! I was close to 400pds when I had the surgery, the weight was falling off. Every time I went to a follow up I got worried due to being less than 20+ pounds each time. LOL Good for you!! -
I can tell my pouch is still working, I still can't eat a full chicken breast w/ veggies. I'm done after just the chicken. My issue is or at least, what has become an issue is.....I'm just damn hungry. Today, I had Greek Yogurt w/ my lunch (Tuna) and a bit less than a half of cup of yogurt, that alone killed my carb intake for the day. I'm sure I'll hit almost a hundred after dinner (black beans, less than a cup) and another yogurt cup 😕 Oh, and a small nectarine.

I don't want to hit Ketosis, that's scary to me. BUT, I do want become a bit more strict with my carbs and fat's. I was VERY BAD these last several months. My carbs, I'm sure, we well over 100g Every other day..

O.o don't know if I'm using this app correctly, but it is reading 24.1% carbs - 35% protein- 41%fat. I can't read this thing for crap I still have to eat dinner and my afternoon snack. When I get home I'll be able to really look through the forums, I'd love to join a group that centers around daily meals.

Thank you so much, I meant I'd like to stay within 1000 to 1100 calories.
-
I missed you too, I need to bookmark this on my home laptop!! Are my number a bit concerning? I wanted to keep the fats a minimum, but for you the 50g works? When I looked at this online, the numbers were different per site. lol

That's for the day 😕 Are my numbers off?

Am I eating too many POPSICLES???
heycrystal2052 replied to Friday205's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
When I ate sugar free fudge pop's, I usually had one or two a week. Usually to curb my sweet tooth, I'll have a small bit of yogurt w/ granola and almonds. -
Premier - On the worst of Proteins, list? O.o
heycrystal2052 posted a topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Hold up wait a minute, let me put a "WHAT!!? O.o" in it! Have you seen this? This was on the worst of Proteins, list. 12 PREMIER Protein Per 11 fl oz bottle, vanilla: 160 calories, 3 g fat (1 g saturated fat), 270 mg sodium, 4 g carbs (1 g Fiber, 1 g sugar), 30 g protein Commonly used in over-processed breads, DATEM (DiAcetylTartaric acid Esters of Monoglycerides) is used as a shelf-stabilizing emulsifier in both dough and Protein Shake applications, as Protein Powder is notoriously difficult to mix with Water. Unfortunately, this additive is often made from artery-clogging partially hydrogenated oils, which the FDA will ban from food products starting in June 2018. Premier Proteinresponded to us and said their DATEM is only made from fully-hydrogenated oil—but why use it in the first place, when so many others don't?- 27 replies

Did You Love Your Surgeon? Did You Like Them?
heycrystal2052 replied to FluffyChix's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Before selecting my surgeon, I looked for much feedback and I payed close attention to their patients and at the level of their success. I love the Dr. I chose and have no regrets, what-so-ever! -
Did anyone do anything crazy being wheeled into the OR?
heycrystal2052 replied to Véronique's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
The wrong theatre? Is that another way of saying, hospital? -
Well, as some of you know, I'm almost two years out and am having the dreaded gallbladder attacks. Prior to the surgery, I had issues w/ indigestion and it ceased after. Now, I found it has returned and I was told it was due to the gallbladder. I really didn't want to get it taken out, but I seriously don't think I have a choice. Next week, my Dr. scheduled a HIDA Scan and ultrasound, I feel like after the Sleeve, my body is having a fit. Did/does anyone else feel like this? Granted everything is else is just fine, but dang it....my body needs to get a grip!

Did anyone do anything crazy being wheeled into the OR?

I remember chatting w/ the Anesthesiologist, as he was chatting w/ me, he gave me anesthesia. All I can remember, I looked at him and continued to chat and out of nowhere, I was told I looked at everyone and said: "Oh boy, this stuff really works"...Lights out! lol -
Gallbladder, be gone!
heycrystal2052 replied to heycrystal2052's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
For me, I had to visit the ER due to a shooting pain in my abdomen and it radiated to my back. I felt like I was going to throw up my life, come to find out, my gallbladder was inflamed. Now, I'm having a issues w/ indigestion. -
I used to have bad headaches after drinking Crystal Light, once I stopped drinking it as often, they went away. I did find new sugar free drinks that didn't use Aspartame (Wylers), and I haven't had any issues w/ those.

Carbonation after WLS?
heycrystal2052 replied to ebroms17's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I don't drink carbonated beverages, but I have tried it. I was so miserable and felt as though I had that never ending feeling of needing to burp, I needed no other reasons to learn a lesson. lol I tried the carbonated Bai product, never any type of soda. -
Should I be concerned? Incisions...
heycrystal2052 replied to SIPS in Seattle's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
The thought of that, hurts my thoughts. I had an issue w/ one stitch and I actually pulled it out myself, once I did that, it healed perfectly. That picture looks like there's an infection, that's not okay! -
Florida and the unwelcome guest.
heycrystal2052 posted a topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Good morning everyone, I hope this finds you in great spirits, considering it's Friday, I must say I am. With saying that, after seeing what Harvey did to my state, I am very concerned for our pals in Florida. For those of you who are having to go through this horrible storm and you have BCBS, please know, we are allowing emergency overrides for your RX's. They can be processed at your network retail pharmacies. If you have active RX's w/ your retail or mail order pharmacies, if you have to leave and go to another location, those Rx's can be transferred over to another pharmacy and the override will be permitted. I send you all love and prayers, Texas stands w/ you! -
I must admit, I was banned from a FB group. Rocks (something), I forgot the name. The people on that site would post recipes containing breads, fried foods, pastas..etc. I expressed my concern and the poor habits they were sharing and I saw a lot of the newbies would get excited at such horrid foods. I was gained up on for expressing my distaste and was banned. In the meantime, people were emailing me agreeing w/ a lot of what I saying, but for the fear of being banned, they didn't say anything. Well, goodness.....ban me over and over, I will speak up. LOL

I haven't really seen the negativity, wait, let me correct that. I ran into a few that I chose to block. They were the type of ladies who failed at understanding an opinion and took everything said, personally. The type of ladies, who went on and on and would only stop, when they were no longer acknowledged. BUT, they are the 1%

Trying on smaller sizes
heycrystal2052 replied to SIPS in Seattle's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I went from a 34/36 (11/2015) to a now a 14 (09/2017), you bet I move on to new sizes when the opportunity presents itself. We worked hard to get our bodies back, no more covering it up. I'm on my work computer and can't get to my updated pictures, but this is from 04/2017, I'm smaller now. Embrace your change, we wanted this (for the best reasons).
