  1. I am getting ready to go back to work, and want to start planning on snack ideas to take with me. i will be 5 weeks post op when I return to work, so would appreciate any and all snack ideas other than my protein drinks - don't get me wrong, I love the different premier protein and muscle milk flavors.... but just want something different. I would love to hear ALL snacks, not just recent post op ones. Ideally these are just snacks, but if they are a little bigger that's fine too, as I can consolidate them to make it 1 or 2 snacks Ive ordered small containers to hold snacks to get ready some suggestions I've read are tuna in the foil packs, hummus, almonds, Greek yogurt, edamame.....

    Post-op pooping

I was sleeved 9/25/17. Constipation hit me at week 2. Take milk of magnesia to empty yourself out.... and take 2 stool softeners a day... that's what I am doing now

    Low bp

About a week after surgery I was feeling strange- it was a weird dizzy feeling. I checked my BP at home and it was 90/53.... so I figured I needed water and salt to help raise it.... it helped a bit and I checked it later I. Day and was still in the 90/60 range. I was like this 2 days then called my Dr. he said to stop the BP pill. Did and a few days later without the pill I am at 115/70 ish. THE add said because I still can't drink all my liquids (I am 3 weeks out) I'm a bit dehydrated. HE said to increase my salt a bit and ensure I drink water So if you feel your BP is low post surgery and you are on meds... call your primary care dr and they will probably have you stop your meds

    Back to work SNACK ideas

I am not sure who make them but they are high Protein snack packs- usually include a meat, cheese and some sort of fruit - I've seen yogurt covered blueberries, dark chocolate covered things..... think of it as a Lunchable for protein.... the ones I've seen are about 15-18 G protein per pack. They are also a few bucks.... so if you make your own will definitely save some $$$

    Back to work SNACK ideas

Fluffy: Yes. Any of the 5-6 meals is what I would consider a snack. introversion - those are great ideas- especially the pepperoni and turkey sausage stick/link! Dropwt4life awesome list- love the P3 copycat ideas- that will save so much money.!
  11. Wow. These are all great- I just overlooked them. String cheese and baby bell are already packaged- jerkey is too. Protein bars- goldfish. For pre-op and post op I was in the shake/ ready to drink protein/purée/soft food mindset -never put much thought into snacks. i really appreciate everyone's input here

    Constipation

I am 3 weeks post op tomorrow. Was not able to do a BM until post op day 4. Pre-op was only shakes, so nothing was there. After that I only went every 2 days.... then....last week MAJOR Constipation hit I had to use an enema :-( my advice- take 2 stool softeners a day to prevent that. We are not eating enough protein to keep it going, and it's hard to drink water.... so take my advice and start stool softeners! I plan on doing that until I am on soft foods when I can hopefully eat more fiber

Anyone here making their own protein bars?

Annie, would love to see your protein bar recipes!
  16. I was just sleeved September 25 during the surgery they found a hernia repaired it when I woke up from Anesthesia, I had a lot of back pain and shoulder pain. apparently they said with a repair of hernia back pain and shoulder pain is not uncommon. I overnighted a lumbar support pillow from Amazon that I used immediately after surgery and made it feel so much better . The pain went away after about a week . Hot water on your back in the shower feels good too

I bought the crystal light "squirt" bottles for added flavor when drinking water. During pre-op I also bought some of the sugar free torani or skinny girl flavorings. Marshalls/tj max and other kitchen places have lots of flavors. I like the pumpkin spice one added to vanilla shakes .... or the salted caramel shakes. Post operatively I have even added them to my premier protein drinks for a different flavor. Premier protein drinks work well blended with fruit too.
  18. What are your thoughts on an air fryer post bariatric surgery. Is it worth it? If so, any suggestions/ recipe ideas?
  19. I was just sleeved last week and am excited for this transformation that is about to begin. I have lost quite a bit this past week, walking 1.5-2 miles a day what is the best exercise routine- once I start going back to the gym to lose more weight and gain muscles...... I figure muscles will somewhat cover the loose skin

    6 days left!!

Oh, and this is such a foreign feeling, I have absolutely NO hunger desires. We can be at a restaurant and see/smell incredible food and nothing.... no desire to eat at all. on this app I have to set the timer to remind me to drink or eat(well, still drink) as I truly don't get hungry

    6 days left!!

I was just sleeved last Monday. Definitely stock up on Protein Shakes- I like premier brand 30+ grams of protein in an 11oz container. They have 5 flavors. The problem is though is I NEVER would have imagined how hard it is to drink after surgery. At 1 Week, I STILL can't manage 64 oz of liquid day- I barely get 50 they tell you to sip sip sip, and I understand why. They say you can only drink an ounce or 2 at a time, they are NOT joking! I can drink about 75% the size of a bathroom Dixie cup- beyond hat, I feel pain- like a heartburn. That's when I know I have to wait. I was on clear diet for 2 days- I got isopure drinks from GNC - they are 40g protein in a 20 oz. bottle. I could only finish 1-1.5 in a day. They are very sweet ( do not get coconut)- they leave your tongue feeling gritty - strange I know..... but high protein. my doc called and asked how I was doing- I said I have problems meeting the water quota- they said for first few weeks that is Normal, just try for as much as possible. Today is 8 days post op- the 11 oz premier protein container takes me about 5 hours to finish!!!! Granted I do sip water in between. my biggest suggestion- get all CHEWABLE pills. I have a combination of both. The problem is some of the pills are large- so I drink some water to swallow. The pill and the water pretty much take up 1/2 of my pouch!!!! So when I need refills going to get all chewables. On the full liquid, I am allowed blended soups.... if we go out, I dip my spoon and lick it to prolong/slow my eating somewhat. After about 10-15 dips, I am full! 1 bowl of soup = 4 meals for me. Take it home and put the remaining in an ice cube tray. WHen ready to drink, pop 1-2 cubes in a small cup and in 1 minute my soup is done! the pre-op diet was the hardest part. good luck to you
