  1. Hello, I'm a july bandster also. July 23, 08. I just wanted to write and say plz. make sure you try and keep your Doctor appt. Try not to be ashamed, your dr. wants you to succeed also. This is a learning process, every month something changes with my band, one month I have trouble eatting chicken and the next it might be salad that gives me problem. I myself have had troubles with slider food and at one time I wasnt losing much weight and found that it was my over drinking of OJ that was full of sugar and loaded with liquid cals. So i was eating well but messing myself up with drink too many cals. So if you dont mind me giving you some advice i would like to suggest a few things that might help. 1st. get a food log, log every single thing that goes into your month and I mean everything. You will be very surprised on just how many cals you are really taking in. Next make sure you make it to all of your appts. Next i know you said something about having pains during working out and I was the same way when I started out so plz. move more even if it is just sitting down and stretching out. get a rubber band and just move your arms more. Try to walk for 5 to 10 minutes a day but do it 5 to 6 times a day so you are getting in your 30 minutes moving but not all at one time. Moving and burning cals is so important. its not just what is going into you body but what you are burning. Next you are great! YOU ARE GREAT! and dont let anyones else make you feel bad about your progress. The road you decided to take is not the easy road that other might think it is, even thou we have the band we have to work just as hard as any other diet to make it work. If you need someone to talk to I and others are here for you so plz ask if you need a hand. so count your input, try to move more, hold your head up, no slider foods, use your dr., use your friends on LBT. Oh and I am a disabled Vet so I have limitation to what I could do at first but the more I walked and the more I moved the more easier it got to move more. I am doing yoga now and Im not walking for many miles but you would be surprised at how just leaning or holding a pose can make you sweat. Find that one thing you really like to do and do it. I hope i have helped a little and dont sound like i am crazy...lol...goood luck
  2. well I did my workout with the Wii fit tonight and than jumped on the wii sport and hit some balls and do some boxing. After i finished I thought i would jump on my bike and ride it for awhile...only lasted 15 minutes....lol..i guess i did more on the wii than I thought. All together I was able to do 45 minutes of wii..
  3. Whoooooohoooooo! ok thanks guys I got my Wii fit to weigh me with the right weight today. You all where right I just had to weigh myself on a solid surface. but now the program thinks I gained 17 lbs and it gave me a really hard talking to about gaining the weight. i think this is the first time I had a game jump on my butt for gaining weight. it shamed me....LOL..I felt like i let the system down....Now it says I have to lose 19 more lbs to get to my goal I set yesterday.
  4. OMG! I did the Wii fit yoga yesterday and it kicked my butt. Its a great workout.
  5. I agree with everyone else on here about keeping your body quessing. I also seen that changing your workout will help as with getting your body out a stall. does your trainer know that you are not losing right now? They might need to change your workout. Like if you are on the treadmill, try to walk longer or up hill, or do a few burst of running during your walk. same thing work if your are riding a stationary bike. if you are lifting weight maybe lower your lbs but increase your reps. hope the info help..i am doing the same right now and started to lose weight again...good luck
  6. Ok I just got the wii fit and it is weighing me in about 30 lbs lighter than what I really am. I am not sure why that is, infact it is showing everyone in my family at the wrong weight. Have you had that problem with your before?

  10. I have a question about losing more abdominal inches. Since November 25th I have lost 2 inches on my right arm, 5 inches on my chest, .5 inches on my waist, 7 inches on my hips, .5 inches on my thigh. abdominal lose was 1 inch only. Why is that? What exercises can I do to lose more weight in my abdominal area. I am walking and riding my stationary bike so that would exspain the hips and thighs losing so much. Im losing like crazy in my chest, but the stomach is just not getting any smaller. I think my total inches for that time was 15.8 inches which is great when you add all my other measurements. but again I am not happy with my stomach area. My weight lose has slowed down so iIam looking at my inches more and getting very upset about my stomach.
  11. As i am reading your post i am trying not to cry just thinking about how I can answer your question. There are no words that I can say to tell you just how happy I am that there was a Doctor named Dr. March that was put on this earth and given the skill to bless me with this band. Ever day with my band is like i was given a entirely new life, a life with less pain, less meds, less sleepiness, more joy, closeness with my family and friend, freedom to leave my house, share my self with the world and with my wife. the freedom to just take a walk without any assistants. The ability to walk into a store and not have to look at the clock and figure out how much time I have to shop before My back and knees and feet will start to hurt. I will never have to ride in a scooter again and hope that a friend of mine might see and feel sorry for me. I love the fact that when i am depressed now I have to think of another way other than food to recove my problems. I love that I can now wrestle with my boys and not just sit back and watch everyone live their lives around me but now with me. i can honestly say If i died today I have been blessed that my last 7 1/2 months where lived with the band. I have found a pride in myself that I thought I had lost. I now know that I can truely do anything again if I just put all of me into it. Its cool knowing that I lose this weight because of who I am with some help from this wonderful tool called the band.. Thank you for asking this question it gave me a chance to put into words my love for the band and ME.
  12. I agree with Jachut, I dont think even now I eat until I'm full, I eat until i am not hungry. I know that sounds funny but I you are hungry when you start and after a 1/2 cup of food you are not hungry any more just stop. Never eat until you are unfortable or stuffed. you are in a testing fase right now, you will learn a whole new way of eating. Just remember to eat slowly and chew and chew and chew. Oh and remember each time you get a fill you might have to remind your self all over again that you need to take your time and chew. The problem i have had was after my fills, i think i can eat at the am speed i did before the fill. Enjoy your band and remember it took us a long time to get this way so dont think it will come right off real fast. enjoy the journey and smell the flowers...lol

I havent gone to many chains rest. since banded but I have gone to Pondarosa and they charged me the senior price for the buffet but it was still a big lose of money since I couldnt really eat much but atleast I shared the time with my family. I basically eat out at the mom and pop kinda places. I do Wendy's but only the chilli. I cant wait to have a small ice cream cone from the dairy queen when the summer comes.
  14. I am a guy and I love my Wii also, I havent been able to buy the Fit because I cant find it but I do workout with my friends. I still do the boxing and tennis for a workout. I also like playing the track and field and swimming, talk about a workout for your arms. On the Wii sport I also like to do the side to side dodge ball, if you use your whole body it is a heck of a workout.

    Eating out post band

    I agree with everyone else. You just have to find a place that has the things you can eat to stay healthy. I go out to eat with my wife at the same little family place every week and they already know me and what i want. please remember they are in business to serve you so dont be scared to ask for what you want the way you want it. I have asked for my food to be baked and not fried, sauce on the side, chicken nuddle soup with the nuddles removed, half of my food put in a doggy bag to go before they bring it to me, No rolls put on my table during dinner. So far not one place has refused to make my food the way i wanted it. oh and by the way my hospital gave me a card to show my local restaraunts that I had a weight lose surgery so i get the senior price or the kids price for the buffet. its so cool because I hate paying full price for something i might not be able to eat depending on my band. it is cool how places will work with you for your business. good luck...bigpapa
  20. You are looking great lady..I will write a response to your email this weekend. You sound like you are kicking butt lady. You are working harder than me, I have been working out well lately and my weight lose has slowed down greatly.
