  1. Well CONGRATS! Knowing what you are doing wrong is half the battle. I had a bad month where I wasnt doing what i needed to do to lose weight. i knew that at the time and now i am changing my actions again. I know that I was eating carbs, i know i wasnt workin out, drink water or even watching what I was eating. I gained 2 lbs for the month. The good thing is I know what I was doing and i know my body well enought to know what I need to change to get back on the wagon. So try to workout more and eat right, its just that easy..or it sounds that way..lol...good luck
  2. i have never taken 40 to 45 minutes to eat, I am satified way before that. I dont really go by the amount I eat. I start with my protein and than veggies and fruit. Some days I dont get pass the protein. There's been many days I havent made it to my fruit so i do them for snack. Are you waiting 30 to 40 minutes after eating and drinking your fluids. drinking will also give you the feeling of fullness. portions sizes are a good guide so you dont over do it but try not to force yourself to eat it if you are not hungry.

    Plateau

I was going to ask the same question that other asked. Are you eating too many carbs? Are you working out? Are you getting in enought protein? And if you are getting hungry that quickly than yes you need a fill. My Dr. goes by how I am feeling, how hungry I am after a meal. He doesnt go by a number but how the band is work for me. During the months I have not lost much weight I have know why I'm not losing weight. Its those things. Maybe try using a log again, record everything going into you even drinks. Record you workouts. if you are getting in your proteins, working out, drinking your water and not eating too many carbs the math says you should lose weight. The math usually doesnt lie its us that mess up the math by taking in things we couldnt be eating.
  4. I got my 1st. fill during surg. 5cc's, after that i had fill every 4 wks until i got to my sweet spot.
  5. Well i still have about 38 lbs to my final goal but I feel great, like a new person. I'm not sure about the skin thing because i still have so much weight to lose. I still keep forgetting not to put my fat clothes on because I am so use to them. I just got my new drivers lic. picture this week and I just cant believe how different I look.

    Carbonation

I've been told a few things about drinking carbination and I must say it cant be too good for you because that month I had unfill and I was able to drink pop without a prob. This week a got a fill and only took about 3 small drinks from my cup before I started PBing all over the place. So for you people that can still drink it you might not be that tight just yet. I will not be drinking any more for a long time. Its weird how just 1cc to make that much of a difference.
  7. I've been pretty lucky this last year because the band has worked very well for me but I wish i would of chewwed my food more, I think I might of Pb'd so much if I would of followed that role a little better. I wish i would of worked out a little more during those months I had a small weight lose. Other than that i dont think I can complain too much.
  8. It's been awhile since I have confessed. i havent worked out in about a month now, i have been eating badly for 2 wks and I've been lucky enough to not gain any weight just yet. I'm 2 lbs from joining the 150 lbs lost club and want to recommit myself infront of all of you this very nite. I promise that for the next 51 days till my 1 yr. banded date I will work harder than I have ever worked with the band to lose more weight. i will stay away from M&M with peanuts, I will drink my water, workout, take my vitamins and be a good bandster. This I swear to you all.... man its going to be touch to start all over again..wish me luck
  9. Thank you all for your comments and thanks for the kick in the Butt Mamajava, you are right you have earned the right to put your foot in my butt when it is needed. I am going in Friday to be checked out by my surg. I think he unfilled me a little too much last week. have a great weekend all.
  10. That is so cool, I right with ya. I went under 250 a while ago, now I'm at 239 lbs and head toward 200 also.
  11. You look just wonderful! Congrats

  12. OMG! I love this new pic of you..

  13. Let me start by saying it looks like you are doing a great job so far and you should be very happy with yourself. Now i think it is very important to have balance in your life. As I have come closer to my goal weight my eating habits have changed from when i first was post-op. I eat some of the old things i used to eat but not really the same. i dont eat the same food my kids eat like corn dogs or fries. I love catfish but I dont fry it in a lot of grease. if I do fry it, its a very small piece. I still dont eat bread or posta just yet. i have no taste for fast food now and i find that so weird, nothing sounds good to me any more at those places. if I have a snack like cookies or a ice cream cone its a very small amount and i make sure to increase my workout that day to burn those extra cals off. everything is input-output for me...if i add a extra 500 cal of treats than i burn a extra 500 cals during my workout. So i eat more but burn more also. i dont think i could of ate the same way when i was first banded, i had to be strict for me to do it. I had to restrict myself so that i wouldnt back slide. Now i am looking toward mantaining my weight in the next two or so months. i will get to my goal weight and than try to figure out what is next. test things out and see what i can add or not add back into my life, but i think If i stay active like i am now and really watch my intake i will be ok and wont regain the weight. i hope i helped you out a little.

    Plateau woe

I agree with what some of the others are telling you but if you dont mind i will add a little more info. You say you do a walk with the family. is that a stroll or are you getting your heart beat up. if you are just out with the family you might not be getting in the workout you need. i agree with the dessert thing. If you dont need it than you might wont to get use to not having it and adding it back into you routine when you are losing at a good rate. Ok are you watching your liquid and slider cals. Those can really add up on you real fast if your arent really watching what you are drinking. Juices have a lot of sugar. Chip are bad! lol!!!!Im a guy and 1,500 cals a day seems like a large number is that the number your Dr. gave you? are you doing a good count of your cals to make sure that is all that is going into you. When I hit a platue i change my workout and eating habits. If im walking I try to increase the distant or how many times i walk a day. i change up my cals intake by either adding some cals for a day or so or having a liquid diet for a day. I hope that helps
  15. That is so great! are you feeling much better with the weight gone? how close are you to your goal weight?

  16. Sad to say yes i weigh myself every day in the morning after I use the bathroom...lol...I need to know day by day if I am still on track, I dont get upset if there is a gain of weight because i know what I am eating so its not going to be a surprice to me if I gain. But it does tell me hey you are slipping up here lets jump back on the ball and workout more...i want to stop a large gain before it gets out of hand and takes me more than a week or so to get it back off. i dont say that everyone should weigh themselve every day, i just do.
  17. I am siting here watching it also, i have watched it every week and even watch the old shows every day at 5pm. I us it as a motatvation....Every wednsday i has a last workout day, I work my but off, if they have a challange walking up a hill i try to find a hill to walk up also. they are not real, they have bob and Jill all we have is ourselves. Use the show to get you to move a little more but know that we wont have that same kind of weight lose they have evry week. its entertainment.....we are in the real world...and we are not doing it the easy way..we are working our butts off also...Good luck with your weight lose..and remember to enjoy every day for what it is. If you move it, the scale will move....
  18. I was banded 7/23/08 and I have lost 148 lbs. thank you for the post

  19. Well I did it today, I went out and bought 3 pair of pants and shirts. I have went from 3X or 4X just 10 months ago to buying size 38 pants today whoooohooooo! and Im wearing a lg shirt, not XL not 2X not 3x but lg....im so excited! just wanted to share the info.....thanx:thumbup:
  20. Im 10 months out and ive lost aroud 140 something lbs so far. ive been told because i am a man we lose fast but id dont know why my numbers are so high.
  21. I have found in the last few months i am consumed with my weight lose. its like i just cant just enjoy the weight that has been coming off. I take my weight lose 10 lbs at a time. Im 247 lbs right now and i started out at 389 or 86 i cant remember any more that was at my time of pre band diet. I kicked butt to finally get to the 240's and now that i am there, i am going crazy trying to keep from going backward to the 250's. once i get to 245 or lower than I will go crazy trying to make it to the 230's. It has been going like that now for over 9 months. this cant be healthy, I would love to just be happy with where I am right now but im not sure I will be happy until i hit my goal and than I just dont want to go crazy trying to stay at that weight. When do we start being happy? Dont get me wrong I am happy with my weight lose but it like never enough. i send most of my time trying to not go backwards and still keep moving down on the scale. Right now weight is still coming off but what happens when it stops again. im not really going crazy but i am starting to be concerned about my need to not gain weight.
  22. Thank you all so much for your replys, they have all helped me greatly.
