  1. ive been hoovering arund the same weight for awhile now and people say they can see that i am still losing weight. What is happening I think is my body shape is changing because of my workout. Muscle and less fat. I figure as long as the clothes keep falling off me i'm doing something right. Keep up the good work
  2. I stared seeing it in my pictures around 50 or more lbs. but even today i hate the mirror, I love what i see in my face but im still seeing such a fat person in the mirror when it comes the rest of my body. I think my stomach would have to be gone before Im happy with the mirror. But that is my hang up, not sure when I will start seeing a skinny person in my head.

    Unexpedted negativity!!

It's all good, don't let that kinda thing get to you, you will prob. hear other things from people close to you that might not seem 100% positive to your journey. The thing to remember is that the band does not make you lose the weight, its what you do with the band. During the months I havent lost weight I can go back to my owm behavior that caused it. It ill be the samefor you, watch what you eat, workout, workout a workout and it will all come together. I find that movement is the key.

    new with questions

Don't feel bad i went though the same feeligs when I got banded almost one year ago. I started feeling like myself around the 2nd or 3rd week post-op. I have lost around 160 lbs in he last year and ot only is it the best thing I could of done for myself but for me family also. I am no longer taking any of the meds I was taking before the band. I am so much more mobile, I can play more with my kids and my love for life is back after being gone for many years. So hang in there it will get better and you will love your band also. If you ever need someone to chat with just log on to the chatroom, its a great place to find people to talk to.
  8. Congrats!!!!! My 1yr. banded date is 7/23. I'm getting really excited about it and working hard to lose as much as i can by that date. I'm trying t think of how to celabrate it. Did you do anything special for it? I'm looking for ideas.

I was banded july 23, 2008 so I have another 20 something day it my 1 yrs. banded date. I'm hoovering around 160 lbs off with about 15 more lbs to go till my goal weight. Loving my band but finding it a little harder to lose any more weight. I lose the weigh than gain it back.

    struggling....

I agree with what everyone else is saying but i would just like to ask, how long have you been working out doing the same routine? Your body will get used to what you are doing so you need to change it up some. So change what you are doing so you can confuse your body and cause it to start droping weight again. If you are lifting weight try lowering the weight and doing more reps. If you walk than try to swim or increase your distant you are walking. Dont let your body ajust to your workout keep it changing. Hope that helps.

    Losing without exercise????

I am almost at 1 year banded now and I need to workout to keep up my weight lose. I'm not sure if I needed to workout that much in the begining but I do think that working was the reason my weight lose happen so quickly. Now if I dont workout the weight just doesnt come off as fast or at all. Now that I'm so much smaller than I was a year ago it takes more movement to burn cals. because I am so much smaller. Plus I find that I am in a better mood when I workout, I feel less stressed out, I sleep better and I dont have as much free time to just sit around and snack when I am on the move all the time. So I guess the exersice is more than just something that helps me lose weight but something that makes me happier and relaxed in life.

    Is something wrong?

I also agree with everyone else that you prob need a fill but if you don't mind I'd like to suggest that maybe you shouldnt be testing your band like that. When I was first banded almost a year ago I never tested my band like that because I didnt wont to know how much I could eat. I never stoped eating when I was full, I always stoped well before that, when I wasnt hungry any more. I hope thats not confusing. I object of eating isnt to become full but to just get in enough to statsify your hunger and have enough in you to keep the weight lose going. Try not to eat until you are full, try not to test your band so much, try to drink enough between meals and get in your protein. Its hard but we have to change our mind set on how and why we eat now with the band. I have great restriction now and with more fills you will get it also, the true test is doing our best to stay with the plan until we acheive real restriction. So our band is can do the job it was put in for. Good luck with you weight lose.

  14. I just got a fill about a week ago and i was about 16 lbs from my goal weight that i set for myself before I got banded. Last month I gained 2 lbs and didnt feel like I had a great restriction. My fill has been great for me and I am back on track with losing weight. i think I am about 10 lbs from my goal now but have since changed my final goal to about 35 more lbs off. I am hitting my one year banded 7/23 and I'm worried because after 1 yr. my insuren. stops paying for my monthly apt. without prior notice from my family doctor. Good luck with making it to your goal

    I'm missing veggies

Try to take your multivitium, that will help with getting in the other things you need.
  16. try to be positive if you can, Its hard to lose weight before you get try restriction but it is very important at this stage of having a band to log in all of your input. write down everything you eat and drink and how much cals it counts up to every day. Eat your protein, than veggie and than fruit. try to stay away from the carbs. drink your water and most importantly you have to move, walk, swim or just do something. Its important that you do your best to burn as many cals as you take in. I know you can do it and if you need anyone to talk to just e-mail me. It gets frustrating but you have to work for your band and than it will work for you. Good luck.

    Tired of it!!

No matter what happens from now on people are going to make comments, good or bad. I have lost a lot of weight now and now I have people asking if im losing too fast, will I need skin removed, will I have my band taken out, dont lose too much weight, shouldnt you be eating more....LOL! i just tell them thanks but everything is going well and other than that its my business. Accourse I get a (Boy he's a real A-- hole) look but hey it is just my business and no one elses. good luck with your weight lose and try not to let others ruine your day for you, remember stress and our moods can also effect our weight lose.
  18. I laughed so hard when I read this post. Good for you. I am going though the samething right now there is someone in my life that has made comments and jokes before about my weight and now they arent saying a word to me. Not once have they even said anything good to me about my weight lose. Now I'm getting the Old, he had surgery so he took the easy way out even thou they know i workout just about every day. Haters will alway hate even after we lose the weight.
  19. You look GREAT!

  20. Looking good, I hit my one year mark 7/23

  21. So glad things are working out for you and you seem to be right on track now. try to remember that after awhile your body will get used to your new routine and you might have to change it up some so you dont hit another platue. If your weight lose starts to slow down again try to change up your workout route, and your eating habits. Our bodies have a way of adpting to our routine so keeping change it up to keep the weight come off. good luck
  22. Congrats on your progress..i bet you are starting to feel better already.

    One year out!!

Congrats! I hit my 1 tr. banded 7/23 and i must say i am nervous about it. My insurance only pays for me to see my surgeon for one yr. so after that there wont be any every month visits and check-ups. i feel like I'm going to be on my own. i would love to lose another 38 lbs to hit my final goal, so we both have about the same amount to lose. good luck and you should be so proud of yourself.
