    Anyone sleeve to bypass?

I had sleeve in 2017. Just converted to RNY on 9/29 due to gerd. I was at my goal weight still from sleeve but have room to lose 30 lbs. my surgeon said I prob would but it would be a lot slower then first round and will take a little more work. Not just my diet (i was already pretty much sticking to protein diet except occasionally).

    Week 2 soups

I’m in stage 2 now. Tonight i bought a Progresso low fat cheese chicken enchilada soup. Heated it up then puréed it in blender. The best meal I’ve had yet. I had 1 cup and tolerated excellent. Converted to bypass 9/29 due to reflux.

    Headaches

I’m curious also! I’m only 8 days out but have had a migraine every day since i got out of surgery. They gave me migraine medicine but i do not want to have to take it daily. I’ve never had headaches previous. I’m getting in all my fluid and protein and tolerate y diet up to this point. Headaches for me are worse the actual surgery itself. Was sleeved 3 years ago no issues. Had bypass do to gerd and not weight regain. Just seeing if anyone else had this and how they stopped them.
  4. Catwoman7– Thxs for your reply! That is also how it affected me after the sleeve so i usually only have 1-2 glasses slowly and not often. I’m glad to see there are some positive outcomes!
  5. I am having my sleeve converted to RNY tomorrow due to chronic GERD which I have had for years. I was sleeved in 2017 with great results. Very short surgery recovery time, very easy moving from one step to next with diet and have kept the 80 lbs off. I am a lot more nervous about tomorrows surgery. More then likely because I keep reading post of people’s 6-9 months out still in pain, barely able to tolerate food ect. I am really hoping to jump back into exercise very quickly. Because I am not doing this for weight loss I am also hoping to be able to eat normal food by Thanksgiving (same portions as now of course) since my MD said he will make my pouch the same size as my current sleeve since I do not need to lose weight. I am also hoping to have our traditional champagne as we put up all our Christmas decorations. My question is... Are their any of you who have had a good experience with the bypass and was able to transition pretty easy in 3-4 month period? I know sugar will be problematic so are you able to tolerate a glass of wine or champagne? Thanks for any good stories you can share!!
  6. Scoutmom— how is it going? I’m in the same boat as you guys but i haven’t out on weight. My sleeve was very successful but now having revision in one week due to gerd. Although i haven’t gained weight i am about 25 lbs from my goal weight. I am hoping to loose just a little bit not too much. I’ve heard it’s a little harder the second half. How are you progressing and feeling?

    August Sleevers-How are you doing??

I walked 5-6 times a day up and down my driveway as soon as I came home. I had horrible gas pain and it really helped.

    August Sleevers-How are you doing??

Sleeves August 15th. Down 21 lbs today. Did clear liquids first week. At one week post op my MD moved me to soft foods slowly and gradually. I've done one egg which was hard. Might try tuna for supper. Grits did well and mashed potatoes I usually only do one a day and still have broth for other meals. Was full of energy Wednesday (8 days post op) but yesterday and today I've been very tired. Hoping to go back to work Monday with restrictions! So glad I've done this!

    Sleep positions

I am 1 week post op and still having trouble sleeping as well. I have a wedge pillow I use to prop me up b/c I can't lay flat. I also have another pillow under my back. I have been able to get a few hours in on my side but I use 7-8 pillows!! I know I know. I use the wedge, one on wedge, one under head, one supporting belly (kinda under it) one behind me supporting back and one between my knees... I cant wait for sleep!!

    3 day post op

Yes agree! I only had nausea twice but the pain was awful. It has gotten better each today. Today it just seems I have muscle spasms every so often. Like a pain will come on but go away a few seconds later. Almost like a contraction lol. Have you experienced this?
  12. I'm on my 3rd day post op. Only had a little nausea yesterday. I had a lot of pain up until today. Today it just comes and goes which is a lot better then the past two days. I do at times feel like my stomachs is cramping or contracting so to speak. It kinda grips me for a minute then disappears. Hopefully this will end soon. I am able to hold down most liquids which I'm thankful for!
