    I am bumming out

FYI, my manager doesn't even ask me to clock out, which surprised me. I think she simply considers it the cost of doing business---no attitude or anything! Deb Sent from my SM-N910V using BariatricPal mobile app

    I am bumming out

Hi, Jess! I was sleeved on August 17th, so I am very new in the whole process. My surgeon and his P.A. have told me that it's very important I eat every two hours. When I went back to my PT job, they gave me a note to that effect. My shifts since I've been back are usually 4 hours, so I'm not eligible for a break either, but my manager follows the doctor's note quite literally and I do have a meal break (10-15 minutes) every 2 hours; my note also specifies I need a bottle of water at my workplace so I don't become dehydrated. Just an idea for you . . . HW 254 SW 241 CW 226 GW 130? (To be established tomorrow at checkup) Sent from my SM-N910V using BariatricPal mobile app

    Post-Op Stage 1 diet

Hi! I am confused about something. What if I am drinking protein water? I still have to drink 64 oz. of plain water on top of that? My surgery is this Thursday, so I am a bit shakey. Sent from my P00I using BariatricPal mobile app

    Any August 2017 Sleevers?

Great news! Thanks! I'm going to check out my local WalMart this morning, and if that fails use Amazon. Thanks for the info about the Unjury protein powder and their chicken soup. I know Celebrate Vitamins makes both protein supplemented chicken and tomato soups as well as regular protein powder. Want to try them. My nerves got the best of me yesterday, and I almost postponed my surgery to September, but I've decided August is my month! August 17th here I come!!! Any August 2017 Sleevers?

Thank you for your positive words and for telling me about the Protein20 coconut pineapple water!!! That is my favorite flavor, so I know I'm going to enjoy that. Where did you find it/buy it? I'm going to look at Walmart tomorrow---that's what came up when I Googled it. Amazon did too. My surgery is on the 17th and so I am trying to get everything ready. Any August 2017 Sleevers?

Well, I just became another August Sleever---that is as long as my insurance approves!!! I am 65 and am married, but no kids except for my spoiled rotten kitty. As with the others I am super excited and super nervous---I have only had simple procedures before, never really surgery. Gulp!!! Does anyone know how long it usually takes for insurance approval if you've jumped thru all the right hoops? Sent from my P00I using BariatricPal mobile app

    Statistics on VSG?

Thanks for your guidance! Very helpful. Sent from my SM-N910V using BariatricPal mobile app
  11. Hi, all! I have my final appointment with my surgeon and his P.A. next week. At this point, I have jumped through all the hoops and such and am looking forward to setting a date. In all my research I have had a hard time getting solid stats on the VSG. What I am looking for is: * success rates for two-year, five-year and ten-years out As long as I am at it, complication rates for the same periods of time. I realize that VSG came about as a pre-surgery procedure for a more serious surgery (duodenal switch, right?). Can't quite get a date (i.e., the year) for when they consciously did the VSG without the intention of doing the 2nd part of the surgery. Could someone help with any of those? Thanks for your help!
