Gained almost all my weight back
NuNu2005 replied to koppeyc's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
You're absolutely right. Maybe I got a little carried away but I've always hated to see anyone being mistreated. It really annoys me but I also have to remember to keep others in mind... -
96 pounds down in three months
NuNu2005 replied to LifeIsAllGood's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
There was a chick on the 600 lb Life thread trolling me. She said people are fat because they're lazy, yet she got fat. When I called her on her bs she and some weirdo started trying to backtrack and deny it. Then they said they were going to ignore me but kept talking about me expecting me not to reply...Losing weight is hard enough without that kinda crap -

I'm not having an off day. I can't stand to see people belittled-apparently whether I know them or not. I've seen lots of comments from people all over that say they were inspired by THOSE people who for whatever reason decided to expose the painful parts of their lives. It has helped a great number of people , how many have you helped Dear? Your comments about THOSE fat being lazy were ignorant. I was watching the show this weekend and they always start off with the issues THOSE fat people had ...I was raped, I was molested, My wife was murdered etc. so for you to say they were just lazy and that's how they got fat I mean...it was stupid (I like words but I can't think of one that more aptly describes your comment) Especially since you've had a weight problem yourself. It was hypocritical and insensitive. Who knows, maybe someone clicked on this thread because they don't have insurance, can't self pay and they weigh 548 lbs and here's good ole Crystal talking about " I know THOSE fat people are so lazy" as if you didn't have WLS for a weight problem yourself and again I ask if losing weight is a simple matter of to stop being lazy why did you have the surgery?????? I'll answer with my guess-because its not that easy and its not about being just being lazy Boo. So if you're sick of me Heycrstal stop mentioning me-outright and subliminally-Then you can let go... GO and be great Heycrystal....Please...GO Go be great girl...You are loved! PS: Dont't go to far with the popcorn, you don't want to end up like those people again -
Back to basics and really doing it!

I'm so glad I found this thread. I am pre op for VSG and I've been given a weight loss assignment of losing 14 lbs.. I was having a tough time getting started because I am really nervous and afraid. At first this was a thought, an idea but now I feel like its a freight train barreling towards me and I'm standing on the train tracks like a deer in head lights. I'm going to lie on a table and get 80% of my stomach removed. Its permanent can't turn back...yikes I'm still researching this procedure but I've already been to the orientation, dietitian and surgeon. My appt. with the psychologist is quickly approaching. From that point, nothing happens til I drop the 14 lbs.. I am so nervous...I did give up my lovely seltzer water and sodas and I've been up late tonight meal prepping. So I'm ready. Wish me luck y'all. It'd be great to hear from some veteran sleevers. I really need some encouragement. -

First of all, it is my opinion you need a dictionary and a high school English course (or at least utilize the spellcheck, but I guess that won't work if you keep saying store instead of story...) ASAP. Reading this post is like deciphering through a foreign language no one speaks but you so its unclear, unfocused and not blunt. Secondly, most women who are under 6' tall and weigh 250 lbs -this could be you as I have no idea of your stats- are obese so its my opinion that you're not in a position to tell anyone to get real with themselves. Especially since you stated above you were happy being potentially obese. Again, it's my opinion you should have some compassion as you've obviously eaten yourself into a hole deep enough for people to worry about your health. Compassion aside yes we should all be doing better but what's that saying about people in glass houses throwing stones.... Thirdly, girl have a snickers, you're not yourself when you're hungry-Oh my God, here I am with my opinion again. -
NO Carbonated beverages- FOREVER!
NuNu2005 replied to Lexington1020's topic in Duodenal Switch Surgery Forum
This past weekend I was watching My 600 lb Life the Zssalynn episode and she said she drinks a soda every now and then. After she told Dr.Now he said that sodas -I'm assuming all carbonation- will stretch your pouch. I'm staying away from it. I know it does fill you up because I used to love drinking seltzer water with meals because it fills you up therefore you can't eat as much - i was able to lose 47 lbs. with this method but apparently its a no go once you are Pre Op and after you have the procedure. -

Why are your panties in a bunch for someone responding to your opinion with their own opinion????? I recall you responding to my comment suggesting counseling for a person who is more than likely-as I am not there- eating for emotional reasons rather than nourishment as we all have-thats how we ended up here (some people ride on a HIGH HORSE)...Doesn't that make you a hypocrite? IJS If you want to make comments on the internet expect a response-again just MY OPINION DA-N me siding with Heycrystal...Something I never expected -
Dr. Im told me that I have to lose 14 lbs which is about 5% of my starting weight. He scheduled the appointment with the Psychologist but he said they won't schedule the appointment with the Dietitian until I've lost the 14 lbs and its the Dietitian schedules the surgery. He also told me that you have to maintain the weight loss until the surgery date. So nervous anxious...damn everything. Going back to gym in the morning

Maybe we were in the class together I think I went June 24th for Orientation. I went to meet with Dr.Im on July 23 and was given 14 lbs to lose. Based on my research it seems that they generally give you 5% of your starting weight to lose -I'm no expert so I could be wrong- I'm going through the same thing as well. I've lost weight before but at this point I've been having so much anxiety I want to eat everything more than ever. I'm trying to turn things around. Wish me luck!

Gained almost all my weight back
NuNu2005 replied to koppeyc's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I haven't had my surgery yet but I have lost substantial amounts of weight and gained it back. I would suggest you go in for counselling/therapy so you can learn how to deal with your feelings instead of overeating. Its a problem that a lot of overweight people have. The Biggest Loser contestant and winner-I believe Ali Vincent. Very successfully lost weight, won the show, had a television show and endorsements. She said in an interview she went for a massage and was fondled and sexually assaulted and she gained almost all of her weight back. When people are traumatized like you with your personal losses we tend to soothe ourselves. I know if I experienced that my first instinct would be to go for a bear claw with melted butter and vanilla ice cream-but dont get me started. You have to learn to take care of your emotions and figure out what triggers you and what you can do differently when adversity comes up.
