thunderstorm816 replied to Turler's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Well going to the gym ainr happening this week. I have come down with a bug that my niece and nephew kindly gave to me. Nauseated and diarrhea ohh joy. Have been trying to not throw up...not a good thing with the band...so I have been limiting myself to fluids in small amounts...and tonight I had some Campbells chicken and stars soup and it stayed down and a half piece of toast....God I hate being sick -

Well tomorrow I will weigh myself at work and see how this new fill did this past week. On tuesday the doc put in a half cc and i have restriction again and am not hungry in 2 hours.....which makes me super happy. Hopefully this gets me on the right track..and I am forcing myself to go to the gym this week too. -
I have gotten to a point where I am frustrated with myself and know that I have not been eating like I should. Have not been to the gym in a while since I have had alot of overtime at work and not able to get there to do anything. I was looking for some ideas on things to eat to get me back on track. I go on the 29th to see my doc and possibly get a small fill adjustment. I know that I have not been eating like I should and need some help from all of u. Any ideas are greatly appreciated. Ohh and I dont like fish other than tuna lol and I despise mushrooms....Thanks

I have been on this I need chocolate kick lately and not sure why cuz I really am not a chocolate eater...more of a carbaholic. I just need to get back to being a good girl and learning to say no to the sweets. I just wish it was wasy to go back to how full u felt right after surgery with very little food. Thank You guys for some food ideas. Ohh and I love Wendy's chili actually had that for dinner tonight. anyone have any ideas on sweet stuff that isnt bad for ya... i need something to curb that sweet tooth that is showing its ugly head. -

Had my lap band done 2 years ago and I am now heading in to have a hysterectomy done next month. Was just wondering if anyone else with the band has had this surgery with the band. Wasnt sure if there will be any specific complications or restrictions with it..Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Yes I do go to the meetings when I am able to ..sometimes schedules conflict. I have ben doing ok. I had to have a total unfill last August and start over from scratch due to getting stuck. I just havent found my sweet spot yet since that time but I think we are close now.

OK so how horrible did everyone do with eating over the holiday....boy does that suck when ur willpower loses to hmmm that looks good -
As my doctor say..."NEVER EVER put off calling the doctor when u are having pain." And I had that situation of no food going down and throwing it all up and only being able to take in fluids. I went in the very next morning and he took a little fluid out. I felt so much better.

Before and After Lap Band Surgery - PICTURES ONLY

OK I am gonna try to add some pics..just noticing how much u end up changing in the face with weight loss. -
Mine is on my right side...about midway between my belly button and my boob...kind of on that diagonal. I dont think there is a specific side it is to be on but I think it the surgeons preference. Maybe it is the side of the operating table they are standing on lol.

The thing I have found out about facebook is that people who wanted nothing to do with you or who had teased u in high school for being fat are the ones who want u to be there friends now. I just dont get it. Makes me laugh uncontrollable inside when i see the skinny cheerleader chicks and they got FAT. See it doesnt pay to make fun of people cuz it can come right back at ya. I think that is why I go on facebook. Makes me feel good to know that life bit them in the ass. -
Yes he did back in April of 2008. Just had to have a cc of fluid removed last week due to vomitting but will go back this week and get fluid back in. I just love him he is soooo nice.

Calling all April Bandsters!!!!

Just stopping in....havent been in here for a long time. Had my first issue with my band this past thursday. Wed night I could not keep anything solid down. I was up allll night. I was so hungry but anytime I ate something solid I threw it back up. Could only keep liquids down. Scared the hell outta me. Was worried I slipped or something. Called off work in the morning and called the doctor. Went to see him and he said that I must of had something stuck or scratched on the way thru and it made my opening swell closed a bit. Thats why no solids would go thru only liquids. I had 5cc in a 10cc band and was at my sweet spot. He had to take 1cc out so that i could eat and my stomach swelling could go down. Pissed me off cuz I just lost 4 more pounds recently. I had fallen off the wagon for a bit cuz I was pregnant at the beginning of the year and miscarried. Went into a depressive state and was comforting myself with food...especially hershey kisses. Got outta my funk and then this happens. I can eat more now and it sucks. Have to wait til this coming thursday to go back and get .5cc put back in...which is still not where I was. SUCKS!!! I hate getting that needle. doesnt hurt bad but not my favorite thing. I am a bit discouraged with my weight loss a year into this but it is better than I have ever done on my own. Im down 3 jeans sizes and couldnt be happier. Hopefully when i get the fluid back in my band we will start melting off the pounds again. Good to see how well everyone is doing -

I am about 5 weeks pregnant and started spotting this weekend. Went and had a HCG level drawn today and the doctor called and said to call the office in the morning that my level seemed a bit low.. I am so worried and dont want to lose this baby even though it was a surprise..has anyone else had these problems?? -
I love my band!!! Not everyone is gonna have problems. This was the best decision I have ever made in my life.

Just an update on this post....I miscarried the baby at 7 weeks on 2/27/09. Worst thing I have ever experienced in my life. Hoping it had nothing to do with the band that I lost the baby. The doctor said it was just not meant to be. -

OK question for u guys. I am 6 months post op and have been having some hair loss. Not major patches or anything. But everytime I wash my hair or comb my hair there is a noticable amount of hair being lost. I have thin hair to begin with and dont wish to be bald. I get my requirements of protein a day if not more so I know that is not the problem. I have also had blood work done and it is nothing to do with that. Does anyone have any tricks they know of that can reduce the hair loss that doesnt involve increasing the protein. Oh and I also take 2 Biotin vitamins a day too ( hair nail and skin vitamin) I know that hair loss can occur after surgery and rapid weight loss... but this SUCKS... would appreciate any thoughts:lol:
