slow and steady wins the race! I lost 15 lbs the first 2 weeks the nothing 2 weeks after! once i realized it was the week before my period and the week of my period I didnt over analyze it too much and now I only weigh myself once a week. Now im down about 22 lbs since my surgery on July 17th but ill take it! My husband says he can see it and I am wearing jeans I havent been able to get into in years. I have to remember to get my water intake in! Thats something I havent been doing! -

On week 5 now and slowly starting to eat normal foods but I must say! After I eat.. I get SO tired! And can nap for 2 hours- isn't that bizarre? -
guys if you go out to dinner, just ask for a soup and sip on it without the chunky items in it, thats what I did last night and I was fine, soup is our savior!

Hey Coyote< How are you feeling TODAY? this is how im getting my 60 grams of protein in a day now that we can have yogurt. I take my premiere clear protein liquid (put it in the freezer i make it really cold before its frozen) pour it into my poland spring sports bottle with the pop up cap to sip throughout the day) Then, throughout the day i sip/eat these three items 1. Premiere protein liquid in my poland spring bottle = 20 g protein 2. Oikis tripple 0 greek yogurt = 15 g protein 3. Premier protein shake (i prefer banana) = 20 g protein. If im craving something to crunch i suck on a sugar free ice pop and im doing fine! I do have apple sauce in the morning with my crushed meds and if im craving something else i usually go to my V8. Today is a milestone for me! under 200's i n almost a year ..given Ive only lost 4 lbs since surgery but i Lost 10 before surgery so im a happy camper! going to keep going with the protein :-D

Hey sassyprassy! Yes we had sex too! lol it was totally fine! TO get your liquids in take a sippy water bottle, ive bee adding crystal light pure ( i dont like to do aspartame but ill do stevia or just lemons) and walk around with it all day! DO NOT GULP! thats what all my nurses told me, no gulping or staws just take the poland spring sports bottle with the pop up top and sip that slowly all day!

agree 100% how different these plans are across the US ! It makes my head spin! whats your thoughts on carbonation? no seltzer right? I wont because my dr said no but on this website i get mixing opinions and thats the one thing ill miss my seltzer lol
-
NO Carbonated beverages- FOREVER!
nycteacher replied to Lexington1020's topic in Duodenal Switch Surgery Forum
I feel the same way! Im in love with my seltzer but my nurse told me some stories about a few patients stretching their pouches due to it so im too scared to go back..hoping lemon and ice ice ice cold water will help me. If i do the crystal lite its the pure with stevia not the sucralose (which i think is horrible) but so far thats been helping me alot too! but im with you about the urge! -
Are any of you guys going to put lotion on your skin to firm it and if so, which kind?
-
thanks sunmeadow! I ordered both the calcium and multivitamin in a liquid form from amazon. Hopefully it wont be too gross . Im actually starting to enjoy the apple sauce.
-
Agree 100% I have 3 friends who recently got it done this year and everyone made it sound like it was a breeze ! I was cursing them all on night 1 LMAO
-
When are you guys going to start taking the vitamins and calcium? Can we wait to chew them? I hate crushing the pills and eating them
-
Have you been able to find the gas x strips? They have been a life saver for the gas pains!
-
I had a bowel movement today!! lol where else can i share this that people would understand? Ok so heres my honest experience! day 1: TORTURE day 2: extremely uncomfortable day 3: uncomfortable but excited to go home and can start reading and watching tv without being miserable day 4: Not being too proud to take the oxy if i need it! I said to my husband on night 1 "if I knew how painful this wouldve been i probably wouldnt have done it" thank god it passed This is my pain..I dry heave and bile or nothing comes up and then my sides are in pain from all the dry heaving! the gas was bad but the gas x strips helped alot! Now I feel much better and someone sane! How are you guys all doing?
