  1. Sorry if this has been asked on here. I looked back and couldn't find any recently. I am 3 weeks post op and just started eating pureed foods. I have had in the last few days multiple time where I have had awful sharp pains in what feels like the top of my stomach after eating. Feels like I have trapped air under my food and I need to burp but i can't. Almost feels like the food is stuck in the top of my stomach and it is super painful. I have had to make myself throw up to get the pain to go away. I currently use Gas X strips and tabs to control the gas in my stomach. I seem to burp fine when I am doing broth's or liquid soups, but as I move into thicker foods I am struggling with that pain. I have resorted to eating with a baby spoon and eating slowly. Does seem to help so not sure if I was taking too big of bites or what. How long can I expect this pain to keep happening. I am super afraid that when I get in to softer foods like eggs, and then into normal food like chicken and steak that this could become even more painful. Will this go away? Three weeks out is this normal? Thanks for any help or advice you can give me on how long this will last and what the next steps will feel like.
  2. You all have to remember. For the first few days all you can basically get down is a little water, protein drink or broth. there isn't a bunch of substance in there to create a movement. It was 4 days before I had one. I am out post op 3 weeks and on average I can have 1 very small one a day or a little bigger one every other day. Just depends on how much I get down. I am on pureed foods for almost a week so I am starting to get a little more consistent substance. Hope this helps.
