Feeling of stuckness in center of chest
Sleeved in DFW :-) replied to graziellabs's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I still get it but only if I sip my 2 ounces faster than I should. I only drink 2 oz at a time. -
Post op struggles

If you see pus, call your doctor. That could mean there is an infection and that is the last thing you want. -

Feeling of stuckness in center of chest
Sleeved in DFW :-) replied to graziellabs's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sleeved 8/21. I have that same kinda stuck feeling depending on how much I sip and how fast I sip. I also had awful gas pain in my chest, neck and shoulder. It seems like it is mostly gone now. I do not have spasms when I drink. Are you drinking room temperature liquids? -
August Sleevers-How are you doing??
Sleeved in DFW :-) replied to Ash_Bri85's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Sleeved 8/21. Also had hernia repaired that I didn't know was there. Totally out of it first 8 hours. When they got me up to walk I became violently sick and dry heaved for an hour. Since I couldn't walk, the gas pain became really bad. They changed my pain medicine and by the next morning the nausea was gone but the gas pain was even worse. They kept me until 7 pm and finally let me go home after I did the swallow X-ray test and kept down some liquids. Being at home is much better. I walked the gas out the first two days and that pain is gone. Sleep is still uncomfortable b/c of incisions. Drinking enough is an all day, on-going battle. It is getting easier every day. I can't stomach the protein shakes so drinking protein water, crystal light and smart water. Had 2 oz of chicken broth today too. Day 4 at home for me and I did leave the house to go see a friend for just a little bit. It was nice to get out. Only problem I'm really having is diarrhea. I wish I was one of the people constipated. I'm sure they would say the same but this is awful and happens really fast so I'm kinda scared to be away from home. Hope this was helpful. Good luck to you. You will do great. Getting prepared at home with different liquid options for after helped me. You just don't know what is going to taste good to you. This sounds awesome. I am kinda tolerating the premier shakes 4 days post-op but don't think I will be able to do them for long. This sounds like a great way to get my protein in while still on shakes and soft food. Thanks for the info!

Leftovers, eh, not interested!

Hi! How far out from surgery are you? That sounds like a normal diet for the first month... Did you not tolerate "real food"? Or were you just nervous about trying it? I am only 4 days post-op but I am already nervous about putting in anything that is not liquid. I can start yogurt at 8 days I think. And soft foods at 14. Thanks for any input. -

8/21 sleeved. I'm doing okay. First night was horrible b/c the pain meds made me dry heave over and over and that doesn't feel great with stomach incisions. Oh yeah, my nurses tried to give me crackers to make me less nauseous. Whaaaat? Probably wouldn't have killed me (maybe?) but just the fact that they knew so little about me and my surgery was scary. My doctor doesn't allow anything, not even ice chips the first day. That sucked too. Anyway, at home now trying to adjust to my new life. Really sick of crystal light, can't stomach broth and I've always hated jello. Just trying desperately to not get dehydrated. Also having a hard time finding comfortable positions to sleep. How is everyone else??? -

Make it four :-) I check-in at 5:30, surgery around 7 a.m. I have been telling my husband all weekend that I'm not sure I can do this. I'm so scared. But I know I will go through with it because it is what I need to do. I've tried everything else and failed. I eat pretty healthy but I eat WAY too much and have a hard time stopping. I think the Sleeve will be a good fit for me. I was on a 5 day liquid diet and 1 small high protein meal. The last two days have been liquid only. Won't lie. I'm a little hungry. SW-237 CW - 228 GW - ? Good luck ladies! We can do this! If anyone is interested in being buddies on here/email/text let me know. I'd love to talk with someone along the way who has started the journey at the same time as me. [emoji173]️[emoji173]️ -

Pre-op diet mess up

Yes that will be tough! But you can do it!! I went out with friends on Tuesday and watched them drink vodka and eat nachos at a baseball game while I had water. It was so hard. But it's gonna be worth it! -

You will be fine. My doctor has me on shakes and one lean protein meal and then the last two days are liquid only. I plan to sleep through those days! My surgery is on Monday as well! Is there a group for it? Seems like there are quite a few of us! -

Halfway to goal!
Sleeved in DFW :-) replied to itstime4me123's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Doesn't sound that high to me. I'm 5'6 and I would love to get to 175. I felt pretty good at that weight too. My surgeon says 135 should be my goal but that sounds totally insane to me right now. Lol. It would mean a 100 lb. weight loss and I can't even comprehend that. Thanks for sharing! Congrats and good luck. -
