Yes that is the new full feeling. I had no trouble with the liquid phase and drank water well. You feel the restriction when you start the soft foods. That full feeling will come after 2 tablespoons of food sometimes.

Well, WAS going to have surgery Thursday.
PrayingForWeightLoss replied to WaywardMama's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
On behalf of the medical community in general, I would like to apoligize for how you were treated. That is one of the worst ways to deliver test results to a patient. In any case, these results could point to other things not necessarily cancer. A CBC alone cannot be used to absolutely conclude the presence of cancer. This doctor has no beside manner. So sorry for this treatment you received. Change doctors. -

Feeling really insecure about my weight
PrayingForWeightLoss replied to lovepink21's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Love Pink you ere beautiful! Totally understand where you are coming from. I have very pictures of myself in the last 3 years because I kept ballooning. Finally got sleeves in July 2017. I have lost about 35lbs but I am still not comfortable with pictures. Yesterday my daughter took a picture of me and I cannot believe how different I look now. I can only say to you, it gets better. I still have a long way to go too so I understand. -
67 y/o female with doubts
PrayingForWeightLoss replied to SuefrmKS's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sue, you are not old. This is you taking care of your body and choosing to be healthy. There are no age limits to that. 275 is too long a drive even after a minor surgery let alone this surgery. The suggestion to book into a motel for a few days seems reasonable I think until you are stronger. It will also give you time to be near your surgeon for a few days in case some unforeseen event come up right after the procedure. Hope all goes well for you. -
Anyone else have mood swings that you can't seem to control? Need advice!
PrayingForWeightLoss replied to skearbey's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have been fortunate not to have mood swings post op. I did become quite irate for no reason during the preop phase. I was on optifast for 2 weeks. I was hangry for most of the 1st week and felt like I could punch people in the throat if they looked at me the wrong way. The only thing that kept me from doing so was that it is illegal....lol. -
Got a surgery date!!

Best piece of advice you can offer for a post-op sleeve patient
PrayingForWeightLoss replied to ErinL's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Follow the instructions and phases that your doctor and dietitian prescribe. There is a good reason you can't eat certain foods before a certain time. Sip sip on your water. Dehydration is a serious risk. -
Soups?
PrayingForWeightLoss replied to Mytimenow17's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was on full liquids in phase 1 and could have soups as long as it was completely chunk free. -
Nervous beyond explanation
PrayingForWeightLoss replied to jeneanb83's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I agree with XYZ, I have had a complication free surgery and recovery. Just a week when I felt absolutely no hunger and was getting weak from not eating enough. The toughest part for was preop especially the first 5 days. I have had no pain, no vomiting and losing at a steady pace. Talk to your doctor about your fears. Don't listen to negative voices. -
Feeling the sleeve when drinking?
PrayingForWeightLoss replied to cp_catcher19's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am about 8 weeks post op. I didn't feel restricted with drinking at all. Not much with purée but come soft phase to normal, I feel the restriction......a lot. -
What I want to believe
PrayingForWeightLoss replied to starshine123's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am about 8 weeks post op. I have struggled with my weight for many years. I started thinking about WLS a few years ago and I talked myself out if it because I thought I could lose through dieting. For the past 5 years, I have spent so much money on different programs, fad diets and endless meetings. All this time, my weight kept going up. The final aha moment for me was when I was diagnosed as pre-diabetic. It was then that I realized I need effective treatment for obesity. Like most people, my biggest regret was not getting sleeved sooner. But then again, I think I needed to hit rock bottom to appear irate this tool. I have lost about 30lbs so far by just following the program to the T. I did not even look at the band when I was seeking treatment. Just didn't want the idea of a foreign object in my body that is movable. -
14 months post-op and carrying: help!

Don't we all struggle with that ......lol. -
I was sleeved 7/28/17. I understand hair loss is to be expected at some point for some. I haven't lost hair this far.for those who have lost those hair post op, at what point did you start losing? Also, is hair loss more prevalent or worse in certain ethnicities than others?

Hair loss and ethnicity
PrayingForWeightLoss replied to PrayingForWeightLoss's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I might just cut mine now and get used to short hair. My hair started falling off a few years after I went through major stress. I didn't take it very well when I started seeing clumps of hair on my comb. If I precut it, at least it's on my own terms and hopefully I can cope with it better. -
This liquid diet is killing me

14 months post-op and carrying: help!
PrayingForWeightLoss replied to kbuck3779's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
Congratulations on your pregnancy!! Sorry that Dr Google has wrecked such a joyous moment for you. I am a clinician but certainly do not specialize in prenatal areas. There is so much we don't know about what causes autism. There are several studies out there still in progress. As we all know, Dr Google is never short of answers on anything and it can be hard to sift through to decipher what is credible and what is not. I would strongly suggest you wait until you talk to the doctor and dietitian on Monday to get evidence based advice. Hope all goes well! Congratulations again !!!! -
What If They Ask?
PrayingForWeightLoss replied to Deleted Account's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I am a clinician and am bound by very strict confidentiality laws. That person should be too. It is a gross violation of professionalism if they divulge your medical information. Your body, your choice. Personally, I chose not to publicize my WLS. I had a hysterectomy a few years ago and I chose not to share either. Over the years, I have had a urinary tract infection, a yeast infection and got a tooth extracted. Again I chose not to share. I just believe my medical information is private. It is your choice and don't feel pressured by anybody to divulge. -

Post Op Frustration
PrayingForWeightLoss replied to Wyldflower's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It is very important for us to get that protein in somehow. Otherwise you will start getting very weak. Have you tried some Isowhey unflavored protein powder? If you are still gagging , maybe you could take Zofran 30 minutes before taking a shake at least for the first few days. Soon you will be in purée phase and have more options. -
Eating solids
PrayingForWeightLoss replied to dominiquekyani's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did full liquids from 3 days post op for 2 weeks, 2 weeks purée, then 4 weeks soft foods. I just started normal but I am still going for mostly softer foods. Some "normal" foods are getting stuck in my chest area. -
What Post-Sleeve Rules Do You Break?
PrayingForWeightLoss replied to SassyScienceNerd's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
8 weeks post op. Haven't cheated a day. Too scared to mess things up again. I failed on so many diets before through my own fault. I am very good at self sabotaging. This time I am sticking to the book. -
