Still feeling full with some pain n HBP
debi216 replied to tothefuture's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Put a call in to the nurse at your surgeon’s office and describe your symptoms and see what the recommend. They may tell you to come in to the office just to get a look and listen to what’s going on. I don’t believe I’ve never had that pain and over full feeling last that long, but I’m almost 7 years out so my memory may be faulty. -
Ummmmm. No.

I use it in my tea without issues.

I like the bariatric advantage multivitamin and chewy bits. The chewy bits are almost like little candies.

I have never heard that. My nutritionist and nurse practitioner said I that fluid is fluid and to absolutely count broth, tea, shakes, etc. towards my total daily intake.
-
I take my Bariatric Advantage Multi-Vitamin and 1 1/4 calcium chew in the morning. A second vitamin and chew at lunch. A chewable iron on my way home from work and two more iron at bedtime.

I’m pretty sure they have Mac and cheese on the kids menu. Try that. -
Yes, it can be caused by a couple of things. Dehydration is the most common cause. Another cause can be anemia, especially iron deficient anemia. If you are on blood pressure meds for high pressure you may no longer need them and that could be the cause as well. Heaviest weight-250 Gastric bypass 6/23/16 Current weight -138

It is a non-waiverable medical procedure. Health Affairs Policy 07-006 states that “Bariatric surgery represents a major and permanent change in your digestive system that requires strict adherence to a specific dietary regimen that may interfere with operational deployment. A history of bariatric surgery is already a bar to military service and receiving bariatric surgery while on active duty may be grounds for separation.” Heaviest weight-250 Gastric bypass 6/23/16 Current weight -138

Exhausted All. The. Time
debi216 replied to Amburmist's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I remember that feeling. I was sleeping well at night and still couldn’t get enough sleep to not be exhausted. Two things. First you just had MAJOR surgery. They may be small little slits on the outside but on the inside there was some major cutting going one. It takes a ton of energy for your body to heal from that, especially in the first few weeks. Second, make sure you are getting enough fluids. I went in and saw the nurse practitioner for (I think) my six week check up and mentioned the continued fatigue and they started an IV and ran two bags of fluids through me and I started feeling better. I have found I can tolerate small amounts of no sugar added ice cream and sugar-free fudgecicles. I also like sugar free jello with fat free cool whip on it. Heaviest weight-250 Gastric bypass 6/23/16 Current weight -138

How long after 1st surgeon visit until date of surgery?
debi216 replied to PaulaUSN's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I had a six month mandatory wait for insurance. During that time I met with the surgeon twice. Once at the beginning to go over surgery options and all that and again two weeks before surgery. Other day than that I just saw the nutritionist. -
