    Constipation

I think you should try a stool softener, miralax is okay too. I do think metamucil is too much base on a liquid diet. Like James said, "liquid in and liquids out." Your doctor right, base on protein shake and liquids you will have some BM, but not as much. However, you will feel like you have to go #2, but believe me it will be mostly passing gas. Protein intake worries

Sam's club, that's where I buy them, believe me they taste so much better. Also I take the 2 shake and spread them out into four small servings. Hey that works for me so far. Moechin, if you don't mind me asking where are you from? Sent from my LG-K540 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Arkansas Medicaid

I say, get Medicaid to pay for the sleep test. Go from there, then you can present th we sleep test result to your pcp. Also your primary care physician should be able to refer you to somebody. You can also call Medicaid to ask them if they have any doctors under that certain insurance who can assist you. I wish you the best of luck. Sent from my LG-K540 using BariatricPal mobile app

  8. I had my sorry on the same date. I've lost 37lb. I'm in the same boat. I bought some gummy vitamins; v-b12, calcium citrate with vD3, women multivitamin, women hair and nails, also biotin. But I spread these through out my day, its way too much to take at one time. I still struggle with my protein and water intake, but I do manage to get it down. I also walk every chance I get, I'm still working on making it a habit. It's hard, just take one day at a time. After all we are learning our new self, our new stomach. Protein intake worries

I too had my surgery on 6/21/2017. My nutritionist put me on a 60 grams of protein. I really don't like the bariatric shakes. But I found that perimer protein shakes are not chalky but smooth, and they are 30 grams of protein per shake. I am in the 2nd phase with soft mushy foods and still have one more week of this phase till I move to phase three. However, phase two is a learning experience for me. I do throw up when my body doesn't agree with it or if I don't chew my food 28 times. But I've gotten smart, I now put my foods through a good processor where is greetings everything up for me so I can eat. Note: I'm only able to consume about 3 to 4oz of food, sometime less than that. But the key is to pay attention to your pouch be or stomach. Also, the main key is to get your 64 oz of water and 2 protein shake before attempting to eat. Anyway, if you have any question please feel free to ask. 12. I had my surgery 6/21/17. During my pre-op diet I had one protein shake in the morning with my vitamins one protein shake for lunch and a lean dinner. Also, keep your mind busy and keep productive, you should be fine. I'm now finishing my phase one and tomorrow going to a nutrition class and transitioning to phase two. I'm excited to finally have some kind of soft foods. Anyhow, I wish you the best of luck on your new journey, and New Life. Here I Go (My Journey Thus Far)

My question is, are you having a lap band, sleeve, or the gastric bypass? When they did a revision from lap band to gastric bypass. I had a drainage ball put into my left side. I did have some complications with that drainage ball and my doctor put me on some medication as well. Anyhow, everyone is different so everyone heals in a different rate and every surgery is different as well. With that being said, I'm only speaking from my experience and to let you know I'm still in the healing process. I just had my surgery on June 21st, I'm still in the liquid phase and getting ready to transition to soft foods next Wednesday. I wish you the best of luck on your new journey and New Life because so far this is been hard but very rewarding. I'm now 19lb (178lb current weight) lighter and in just the weeks and I feel amazing, I can feel my health improving slowly. So back to the point, as for healing time I think one week the minimum and three the max. Perhaps, you may be different, perhaps you only need a few days. I say one week minimum because you'll be bloated with air and it will be very hard to come out for the first few days unless you walk consistently to help pass that gas. A little tip of advise; you will need to make sure you buy some chewable Gas-X that helps wonders, get a pillow for when you need to cough because you will coughing and sneezing at some point. Also try to concentrate on your water and protein intake, so far I haven't had any problems with that. And be on top of your vitamins or you will lose a lot of hair. If you have any questions feel free to ask because I'm still going through it. Best of luck to you. Sent from my LG-K540 using BariatricPal mobile app

Here I Go (My Journey Thus Far)

I don't think that's a good idea. You will need time to heal, beside you will also have a drainage ball hanging out of side. Therefore, I think one week off of work will be okay for the minimum, but three weeks the maximum. Sent from my LG-K540 using BariatricPal mobile app
