You are so right about tracking! I track every morsel bad or good in spark people. It helps know my protein and calories. So far I have only gone over 600 calories twice. Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 199 GW 135

[quote post="4489708" I had about 3 ounces of a sugar free iced mocha at mcdonalds and that was enough to start me back up. I've lost another pound so I am officially under 200 now! The caffeine got me moving! Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 199 GW 135
  4. I had been really unhealthy and when I went to the DR we are healthy and I was super active. I was on a mission trip to meet my sponsored child. I had also been trying to be healthier for a couple of months so I cut back in sugar. I think my liver had definitely been bad before. Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 199 GW 135

    Aging process and Sleeve

That's what I figured. Also another gal on this site posted her after pics of a weight loss over 100 pounds- she posted her abdomen and then after her plastic surgery. I was impressed even with the before pic and she said her plastics were covered by insurance. She posted pre plastics pics with a sick dress on and said she was wearing spa clothes- she looked gorgeous! Cruise the other posts. I have lost 24 pounds so far and I have more energy than I ever have. I think just the change in diet - low carb hi protein has made all the difference! Good luck with your decision! Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 199 GW 135
  6. I was also amazed at how easy the surgery was! I've had 4 c sections and my gall bladder out and this was by far the easiest of those surgeries. I just kept saying - I can't believe how easy this was. The hard part now is getting my fluids, proteins and vitamins in every day and tracking every bite. The hardest thing is not drinking when I eat and keeping it separated by 30 min on each side- I don't think I'll ever get used to that! Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 199 GW 135

  9. Never. My surgeon did not make me purée anything. I started protein drinks the day of surgery I think soft foods including eggs and cottage cheese by day 5. Tuna and ground beef beef by 2 weeks. I think I might have said day 5 for that earlier but as I think of it it was day 14 the. 3 weeks I could try pretty much try anything except raw fruit, nuts and veggies. You would be able to enjoy life way more at a healthy weight and will undoubtedly live longer. I am 55 and want to be able to play with my future grand kids and travel the world. I wouldn't be able to enjoy it as overweight as I was/am. The heat of the Dominican Republic was awful on me last month. If we exercise and use moisturizers some of the extra skin will tighten. There may still be issues but that can be corrected with plastic surgery if it's really that bad. To me it wasn't a choice. I wanted to be healthy! Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 199 GW 135
  11. I only had a 4 day pre op because I had been traveling and my doc said he'd do it just after I got back- probably because I was a lower bmi. He said my liver wasn't fatty at all when he went it which totally surprised me- my gi had said a year before that my liver looked like an alcoholics liver even though I barely drink. I lost 6 pounds in those 4 days. Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 199 GW 135

Had a bad food day yesterday but pretty much maintained with 199.4 today and 199.2 yesterday. Back on track today though - my goal is to get my 64 oz of fluids in today as I haven't gotten that much yet - usually I hover around 48 oz but yesterday wasn't even 24 I don't think because I kept munching and was waiting to drink. Stupid! Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 199 GW 135

    Weight Loss Notice

I am hoping to lose 80 pounds within a year. My doc says he thinks I'll get to 135 but frankly I would be elated with 150. I haven't been 135 since I was 17! I have a short but solid frame. Even at 155 I was a size 10 and was totally happy. Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 199 GW 135

    1st restaurant experience post op

I think you are right! Back in the wagon today! Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 199 GW 135
  18. I weighed this morning and wasn't any heavier so that was good - I ended up eating a snack bag if cheetos and a piece of lo sugar banana bread so I did awful. But kept my calories around 1000- highest yet. I'm on the wagon today though. Thanks for the encouragement Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 199 GW 135
  19. I just went out to a restaurant with my inlaws who don't know about the surgery- they know I had a haiatal hernia surgery. I'm at week 4. I was able to eat nearly half my steak and a few bites of the sweet potato. They didn't really notice how much I ate. Everything went down well and stayed down. Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 199 GW 135
  20. So tonight I went out to dinner with hubby and inlaws to longhorn. I asked my surgeon about steak and he said give it a go. I had the filet and ate less than half of a 6 oz steak. Delicious! And set well. I also had a few bites of a sweet potato. Set well but I think it triggered wanting to eat more because I've been wanting to munch all night- anyone know what I'm talking about? Especially something sweet. I think restaurants may need to be off of my menu for awhile. Triggered head hunger! Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 199 GW 135

    1st restaurant experience post op

So I've now had another restaurant experience. I did get permission from my surgeon. I am one month out . We went to the longhorn. I ordered a filet because I thought it would be very tender. I was right. I ate less than half of my 6 ounce steak and a few bites of a sweet potato. It was delicious and set well. The problem for me is that I think it somehow triggered my head hunger. I have wanted to munch since dinner. I had a little carb smart ice cream. I know I wasn't hungry. I still felt full but I wanted something sweet! Anyone else experienced something like this? Very frustrating and a little scary for me. Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 199 GW 135

    Three Weeks Post Op Stall

Totally normal. I stalled for a week I'm 4 weeks. I think it had to do with eating more solid foods Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 199 GW 135
