Nauseous, wanting to vomit, can’t eat
skyewolfe replied to ninaslimsdown's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Protein drinks are a way to get the protein our body needs to live and function in during the liquid phase -

It sounds like your team is at fault here for not preparing you properly. What country are you in and what water did you chose? -

I take patchaid vitamin patches from the bariatricpal website because the chewables and melts were making me throw up
-
I was lucky and experienced no hair loss. Make sure you keep up on your protein because that one of the causes of hair loss, the lack of protein. I do tend to forget my vitamins, more often than I care of admit lol. But my levels are just as good as they were before the surgery

Consultation experience, eating disorders and mental health.

I ended up having an extended psych evaluation because my primary psych dr kept changing my meds and they wanted me stable with my meds before signing off on the surgery lol. I was super nervous, but I made sure I was honest. -
Lying about not getting surgery is awful
skyewolfe replied to GinormousReislin's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Honestly it does sound like you are. There is also a difference between having cancer and losing weight. Huge difference. There’s a strong stigma around bariatric surgery so yeah, of course people will lie. I only told a few close people. To everyone else I started eating healthy and **** because I don’t want to deal with the negative attitude. If I meet someone who tells me they are considering the surgery. I will talk to them about it. But otherwise it’s really no one’s business -
10 days post op living on Skim Milk and Cream of Wheat
skyewolfe replied to AlleyKitten46's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Where did you get your surgery done? Can you contact them? Because you really shouldn’t be eating cream of wheat at this stage. -

Which shakes are you using? It could be those. I’d recommend trying muscle milk or fairlife (either nutrition plan or core power). Post op that was all my stomach could tolerate for protein drinks -
Don’t worry it’s just one bite. But try to stick to the program! I know it’s hard sometimes, but it’s important. I was lucky. For the first couple of weeks after surgery just the smell of food made me want to throw up. Every time my boyfriend would cook his dinner I’d have to close the bedroom door.

Did I really do the right thing??
skyewolfe replied to JaysWife's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ok so the meds may need to be adjusted, get with your dr. Our bodies absorb medicine differently after the surgery. As for the energy? I had 0 energy for months post op. My nutritionist kept telling me to eat carbs, but my brain was saying “no Skye, carbs bad. Carbs why you are fat”. So I ignored her. It wasn’t until I started consuming carbs finally (healthy carbs of course like fruit) that i finally started getting my energy. I’m not saying to eat carbs because you are only 2 weeks out. Not a good thing for you yet. But what I am saying is that it will get better. Don’t worry. Sometimes it may seem like it’s getting worse before it gets better, but it will get better -
Weight loss medication post wls
skyewolfe replied to Reddpanda's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ok so are you maintaining or gaining right now? I’ve surpassed my personal goal weight (well my original one. I’d altered it once I passed it lol). I do tend to graze at work (it’s a fairly rigorous job so I burn a lot of calories and end up needing snacks to help keep my energy up), but I make sure it’s healthy stuff. I actually just discovered Wilde Chicken Chips and use those to munch on throughout the day. Low carb, low calorie and it tends to last my shift (just 20 chips), because it’s made with chicken instead of potato so the protein helps. I think what you need to do is before you start snacking stop and think “do I need this? Or do I want this?” If it’s a want, work on the will power to put the snack away. Find something to distract you or drink (I hear that helps sometimes when we want food). -
I tend to cook a lot of Asian or Mexican stuff. I just use cauliflower rice instead of normal rice lol

Before and After Pics
skyewolfe replied to Roserie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Been a while since I’ve posted a before and after pic. Surgery weight was 271, current weight is 144lbs. I think I’m done losing now (bypass was 3/2/2020). My weight fluctuates between 142 and 145 -
Don’t worry it’s not a huge deal if you messed up once. Two days into mine and I ended up stuck at my nieces with no drinks and no way to get any. They made lasagna for dinner so I had one slice. It was either that or I wouldn’t be able yo eat until dinner the next day

One glass of wine....

Just remember to take it slow. Our bodies absorb alcohol differently now.
