    Endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty

Shedo - Yes it is fairly new. And only being done in a handful of clinics in our country. It is being taught to physicians more and more, so it will become as common as the other gastric surgeries very quickly. What really entices me is that it is outpatient, only takes about 45 mins, less invasive and you don't have to go through the multiple pre-op specialist appointments like you do with the more invasive gastric surgeries. Endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty

Thanks Shedo! And good to know! I wish that I would've read this before I went shopping yesterday, lol. I went to Sam's Club and bought the chocolate and vanilla protein drinks there. They're 30 grams of protein. Do any of you have any info like paperwork that describes examples of meal ideas for the first few days and beyond? I would love to see it if possible. I can give you my email or you can text it to me if that's easier. Kiki Endoscopic Sleeve Gastroplasty Procedure day: 9/8/17

    Endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty

I've tried the vitamin water Zero and didn't like it very much. I love plain ole water or even unsweetened iced tea. I could probably do the Greek yogurt with cinnamon. Do you set a limit to carbs every day? Kiki Endoscopic Sleeve Gastroplasty Procedure day: 9/8/17

    Endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty

EW, where do you buy that from?? I'm going to try the Premier Protein ones from Sam's Club and see how they taste. I have a friend that swears by those. Any other helpful foods or tips? I did buy some 3-compartment meal trays to pre-package my weighed meals OneRx I'm on regular foods. That way on Sunday's I can weigh everything out and count my calories. Endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty

Yes, they're paying 90% and I pay 10%. I'm having it done at U of Chicago and it's a $10,000 (all-inclusive) procedure. My Doctor said there won't be any additional fees for anesthesia or meds or anything else as long as there aren't any complications.
  6. That's why I'm most likely going to have this procedure too. Recovery is quick and you go home a few hours after the procedure.
  7. Good luck EW! Val mentioned that they stapled the inside of your stomach but everything that I've read suggests that it's stitched. Which are you having? I have my consultation on 7/28. I too have a BMI of 35 and I am type 2 diabetic on insulin and other meds. I have a strong family hx of diabetes and heart conditions. I'm hoping to eliminate all of these and just want to be healthier overall and feel better. I wish you the best and would love to keep in contact with you during this journey.
  8. Hello, I'm new here and have an appt with a physician on 7/28 to see about having the Endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty done. Does anyone know if there is a forum for that here? It's a fairly new non-surgical procedure performed endoscopically (tubes/devices down your throat). I would love to meet and talk with others that have had this done, as I have so many questions. Good luck to all of us!!

New here [emoji1384] Need some direction

    Yes, thank you so much!
  10. Thanks for the info and your advice! I appreciate it very much! [emoji846]
  11. I'm meeting with a doctor in Chicago in a few weeks. I couldn't find a whole lot of info online about it, but I did see there's some in NY, also Mayo Clinic and Houston. Not sure where you're from. I've read that it's around $10k-$12k, which is cheaper than other major gastric surgeries. And this one is less invasive and you can have a lower BMI (30-35). I would love to talk with someone that's had it done to see how it worked out for them.
