  6. Two weeks post op and moved to pureed foods. Made pureed white sweet potato with spices and unflavored protein. Two bites in i felt my first restriction. Anyone else feeling restriction on puree stage?

  7. Hi all, I decided right before my surgery (11/7/17) that I would not purchase a scale. I figured I will be weighed when it truly matters (in office ) and I would focus all of my attention on NSV. So far it feels wonderful not worrying about numbers and it allows me to build different goals like meal planning, water intake challenges and walking goals. I think I will only buy a scale if my doctor recommends . Anyone else on a similar path?

    November 7th sleevers

Feeling great today , I started pureed foods last night (a couple hours early ) had salmon salad. I feel so much better now that I have found vitamins I can have that don't cost a fortune. Still working to get up to 64oz of pure water but I forget to eat and drink some times then I'm rushing to get it in. I'm going to set alarms. How is everyone else doing?
  9. Anyone attempting the vegetarian / vegan lifestyle after WLS? I was a vegetarian prior but started eating poultry to meet my NUT planned diet (high protein low carb low fat )

But now I am longing to  return to the life style.

    Any tips?

Vegetarian isn't too hard since you can have whey protein shakes, eggs, dairy. Veganism is much harder since the vegan-friendly shakes are less palatable and you have to be extra cautious about getting complete proteins.

There is a specific forum here:

    Negativity

I haven't told many people (only two ) and the day before surgery my friend said to me of you could lose ten pounds on the preop diet why don't you just forget about the surgery! I flipped on this friend because : A. I was so nervous I could barely breathe and this friend was my support system that voiced no concerns prior B. The day before surgery is not the time to try to convince someone to change their minds C. This friend knew my rare comorbidity which was the reason for the surgery All of this to say that sometimes people mean well but cannot execute their concerns, albeit well intended, correctly. Take it with a grain of salt. Wash the hurt away with a shower, continue YOUR JOURNEY, and live your truth.

    Freaking myself out

100g of protein a day sounds amazing, please share your techniques... Also you WILL loss it may not come in a direct path but it will come, maybe it would be helpful to recognize some of your non scale victories like looser sleeves thinner facial planes etc...

    12 days post op

Whenever I felt like I needed to promote movement (pre op) I drank senna tea. It works well. I wonder if this would be approved by the Gastric teams?
  13. Sorry, if it's any consolation I haven't really even eaten any Had cream of wheat once pudding four times and yogurt four times, and that's in two weeks. I've been obsessed with hydration... Almost at 64oz of pure water I am beginning to notice that plans vary greatly however in my plan during stage 1 full liquids I a MN allowed to have SF jello SF pudding low fat yogurt and thinned cream of wheat in addition to the liquids. What does everyone else's stage one look like?

    November 7th sleevers

Hi there I was also sleeved Nov 7th I'm doing alot better now but day 2, 4 and 7 were the worst with pain and hitting the wall in regards to energy level. I'm still not hungry but getting a comfortable nights sleep doesn't exist anymore.
  19. Hi there I had the same problem when I hit the 1 week mark, I think it was lack of food so I added the yogurt in my diet (I was on fluids only by choice) give other allowed foods a try and let me know how it goes
  20. Hi there, I also have IIH (pseudo tumor) and I'm having VSG as my mode of treatment instead of brain surgery (shunt) I however started with a BMI that qualified for surgery either way. I would suggest getting your neurologist on board and providing your insurance company with a statement. Hope that helps. Peace and love

Who's Currently In Pre-Op Diet Phase?

Hi there I'm starting my preop tired I'm a couple months out but I'm starting early to make the adjustment fully so never want to go back. If the shakes are very sweet I was suggest blending with ice that should bring the sweetness down and also boost the quantity. hope it helps!
