Could Someone 'Splain This To Me?
GreenTealael replied to FluffyChix's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
My insurance was not as rigorous and didn't require the weight loss or waiting period, so that may be a factor for some. Also the classes vary greatly by center. I received a 4 page book on the diet after surgery and IMHO it was not detailed enough in respect to variations on themes of food groups. So the amount of information distributed can be vastly different and people come to sites like these to glean information from others in similar positions Because honestly at 8pm my Surgeon and NUT are no longer answering non emergency questions... -

The person that began this thread obviously is an adult and WANTED a consensus from the court of public opinion. That individual can chose to accept or ignore the opinions that they choose. That being said the tone of the topic including the honesty about eating habits deserves honest answers, feels like a public cry for help, when it should be one made to that individual's medical team -
What you wish you'd known before having weight loss surgery

And no need to be worried about regrets (you'll see for yourself ) plus I'm only 7 weeks out from surgery so I assume eventually it will become second nature and I won't even notice anymore -

I absolutely DO NOT regret getting sleeved, I would do it again in a heartbeat, should have done it years ago. Eating and drinking is just something to be mindful of because the overall success of these procedures depends on following through with the plans and rules without cheating so I never cheat. And that means no eating and drinking within 30 mins of the finish of each session. -

That I would live my life in 30 minute blocks... -
Hi everyone, I decided to have surgery after a small amount of time (one week after first seminar with extremely diligent research of various medical journals and studies ) and from my first meeting with the surgeon to surgery date was only five months. I feel like the brevity of the experience was an advantage for me not to talk myself out of it. Anyone else have a fairly quick experience?
-
Not bad but I find that I'm living my life in half hour increments lol

Does a lower BMI mean you'll lose less or slower?
-
I only considered it after I found out my new insurance (Medicaid ) would cover it without a ton of hoops to jump through unlike my previous insurance Empire
-
It can be hard to find good snacks and you are now 11months out from surgery so it may become easier to be less diligent with your food choices being on plan if you really want it no one can stop you but this one item may trigger a slippery slope, and no one wants that

6 1/2 weeks out and almost meeting my intake goals. People are noticing and asking questions (I told no one about the surgery ) I also actually consumed 700 cals yesterday, previously I was only getting in about 500 tops!!

Wow, I don't feel so alone anymore I see alot of people here have been waiting close to a year sometimes more and I can't relate Tea
