Embarrassing question for the ladies

Painful? Oh no... -
You'll do great 20 lbs is very good progress

That far out I relied on them for about 1/2 of the macros I needed. When I met with my NUT I was told that I needed to retrain my digestive track to work effectively so I had to eat real food again (I was eating easy foods like cheese). I was also instructed by my NUT to use all the spices I wanted to while cooking my protein sources. That really helped.

Where are you located? Food based items you can try are Senna tea, chicory root drink (often called coffee alternative ), sugar alternatives (splenda, stevia), prune juice basically any laxative effect inducing food you can think of

I think everything in moderation, Continue or start to food journal. I use myfitness pal. You'll begin to see how much they "cost" you and if they are worth having all the time or just occasionally

Ooooh nice work!

I burn my mouth (tongue actually) constantly on HC if it's microwaved I think it doesn't heat evenly I suggest stopping it part of the way to stir really well and test the temp

How much did you lose 3 months out from surgery weight
GreenTealael replied to Losebig's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
38 lbs from surgery to 3rd month Stalls included -
I would suggest that you :re commit to the original dietGet rid everything that would be considered junk by your surgeon or NUT. ADD MORE Water. Eat larger portions of denser Proteins. Add healthy fats Drink warm liquids (teas, low sugar cocoa, coffee ) when you feel the need to have something late at night Have a snack of the pleasure foods once in a while, not all the time. Voice your concerns to your team. Remember that you're human.

Is it possible to do this for the "wrong" reasons?
GreenTealael replied to GayGirlLivingForHer's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
In the end the real reason remains the same, it is medically necessary I did it for my personal reasons which vary from yours but it's only a tool. Imagine needing a hammer to fix a roof vs someone needing it to hang a picture frame. You both still need the hammer despite the project. And comparison is a thief of joy. -
I never bothered to ask, I was worried about revision rate, mortality statistics, etc. But my surgeon was super good and I have had no complications so far. Nausea is tricky to predict but easily controlled with meds

Thanks, Turns out it was too hard and cold I could even bother to try it. IDK what I was thinking its still winter. Back in the freezer until summer...

How to get enough protein.
GreenTealael replied to Jfranks0124's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Some people need to work their way up to that goal. It will take time, dont force it. Little by little increase your intake -
Can I vent for a minute?
GreenTealael replied to Rachel1064's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I understand your frustration. I also understand being on the other side of a person or a friend with a new "obsession" (not to say its a bad thing at all ) Sometimes it's just tiring to always discuss the same thing over and over especially when you are not really interested. Sad but honest. I suggest discussing with people who are more empathetic such a support groups so that peace reigns supreme in your personal relationship I could be totally wrong and they could just be jealous or insecure... -
Newbie here I just have a few questions.
GreenTealael replied to UnDefinedBeauty's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I would first see if your insurance will cover the procedure and what the specific are (preferably in writing ) Then find surgeons that accept your insurance. Next go to a few seminars and narrow down your choices. Talk to your PCP and have them on board and follow the steps they will give you from there -
Can you edit and/or delete posts you've made?
GreenTealael replied to Rachel1064's topic in Website Assistance & Suggestions
It appears that you can only edit posts it in a short window of time after creating them. If you are in the app on an Android at the top near a checked circle are three vertical dots which this a menu bar. I can't figure out how to delete anything yet. -
Post Op with small children
GreenTealael replied to YRVD1009's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I would suggest waiting until the 7 month old can walk and no longer wants to be picked up constantly because surgeons would not recommend carrying anything more than 10 lbs for a while. However if you start the process now that may be the case anyway since your insurance may dictate a 3-6 month waiting period. Having a strong support system is key when you have young children because you will have to focus on yourself for a bit. Go at the pace you are completely comfortable with. TBH life will become more enjoyable (barring complications ) and you will be glad you didn't wait forever. -
Has anyone successfully kept weight loss surgery a secret?
GreenTealael replied to PHOEBE_10's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I only told two people (in case of emergency) Everyone else appeared too judgemental to me so I decided not telling them was best Other than that when people ask I tell them I eat a lot less and low carb/keto -
I can't believe I ate that

Do what works! -
64 minimum to build up your hydration level and understand that it will also be your goal after surgery. Also it doesn't have to be plain Water, it could be flavored, tea, sugar free Popsicles, just not caffeinated or carbonated
