Google LLysine and telogen effluvium, I put this on every hair loss board I can, I think it's part of the reason my hair has not really fallen out

HELP - Grazing all day
GreenTealael replied to Orchids&Dragons's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Grazing tends to just be eating just to eat, not planned meal times (whether 3,4,6 etc) tracking meals and calories SHOULD help prevent this behavior and ultimately I feel like theoretically it should be very hard if you are hydrating all day and meals and fluids don't meet. But it's not always like it is in the books... -
This didn't work for me

Wondering how the OP is doing now? Any updates? -
2 years post surgery and gained 30 pounds back
GreenTealael replied to sondra2368's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Visit your bariatric team to make a plan, they may recommend additional support such as therapy or additional surgery, or it may be as simple as a stricter diet and physical therapy plan. Safe journey again! -
I say if you feel better roll with it
-
I'm just posting because I'm jealous of your super human recovery so far...

Focus on water and hydration, cry as much as you need to, try to get some protein in, be kind to yourself, improvements come in time

I'm just not happy.....
GreenTealael replied to BuzzVSG's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Yes, you are not alone in how you feel. Please please please take care of your mental health as well as physical during this journey. -
Does the attention bother you?
GreenTealael replied to TakingABreak's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
You speak the utter truth, people (strangers) treat me like royalty now where they were simply nice before. I'm so disappointed in humans. I can't believe the change and if it was only men I would not be suspicious... -
Suggestions for Eating Out and Loss of Motivation?
GreenTealael replied to Lyngolean's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
At restaurants if everything is too big or not on plan I'm ordering coffee or tea plain and simple. As for motivation I can't rely on it so I have to make things routine and plan for the gym and even the non gym days which means I have to walk more. So planning ahead is crucial for me because motivation is too rare for me to count on. -
Anyone else HATE Protein Water?
GreenTealael replied to Snapple's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Same. Disgusting. Unfortunately the unflavored was just as bad texture wise for me. Good luck -
How many calories a day should I be eating?
GreenTealael replied to Yo-yo girl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Best bet ask your NUT, I was on these boards trying to figure out the same thing a few months ago and and gathered advice from here but my NUT wanted something COMPLETELY DIFFERENT and at the end of the day im under their care -
Latinos what do you eat
GreenTealael replied to Dropdeadkim's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Lol, disclaimer I'm not technically Latina (completely) so... I post hesitantly, feel free to disregard if you want. But I grew up cooking and eating mezo American, latin America, west Indian, etc so I feel qualified to chime in. It's tough eating that diet and not feeling guilty earlier on but the further out you get the better. I make a lot of bean stews and I always keep plantains in my house. I have cut out the rice because I just don't need it. -
7 months post op
GreenTealael replied to GreenTealael's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Many thanks everyone! -
Just completed my 7th month visit with my surgeon, they usually do a 6th month visit but I was hospitalized at that time, a here's where I stand : CW: 170 BMI: 30 Total loss: 75lbs Labs: iron low- anemia rearing it's ugly head again, I will probably never get rid of it so back to infusions like I knew I would have to... Surprise! very low b1-may need infusions as well, hematologist will tell me tomorrow. I still believe it was wise I chose the sleeve over the RNY or I would probably have scurvy or beriberi by now lol All other levels are great so that is a blessing. And apparently I stress too much over my progress and setting goals because I'm right where they expect me to be.

Wondering if people wanted to share their experience / success stories / frustrations with losing weight at their personal pace. Some days i find it hard to not trivialize my success and i think its is because I am losing slowly, which can be VERY frustrating but i did not have any complications, a definitive goal set up yet or loose skin so i should learn to count my blessings. How do you maintain perspective?

Perspectives on Losing Fast & Slow
GreenTealael replied to GreenTealael's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm definitely a slow loser with loses if .2 to .6 if anything , but as everyone suggests I won't focus on it anymore. However my medical issues are NOT resolved through this surgery so I can't see those benefits just yet. So far I am simply smaller... Not to sound ungrateful -
Pseudotumor cerebri, has anyone been approved for surgery for having this?

Trying to find love during weight loss journey
GreenTealael replied to fromfat2sexy89's topic in The Lounge
IMHO don't bother telling anyone medical info that's not important (unlike STD statuses which most people like to know upfront and before sexual interaction) unless a relationship is forming. It's definitely a conversation for later in the game like when they are trustworthy or you are comfortable doing it, don't feel pressured into it. -
If you are in pain make sure it's managed before you are released, safe journey!
