    Scar Treatment

I scar terribly so I consulted with my dermatologist and she suggested silicone patches or sheets. I have not started yet because I'm lazy and no one sees my stomach lol Also I've thought about it for a bit and I'm pretty sure if I really wanted to speed up the disappearance of the scars I could use my prescription retinol cream on it.

    Missing Food

We need some bariatric substitute Pinterest leaders... Food exercise lifestyle, I'd follow
  11. My surgeon required that I have it for about 2 weeks to draw out excess fluids from the surgical site. Some surgeons do not use it. Its a mater of practice and preference. I like to believe that every little precaution and step my surgeon took lead to my flawless recovery.

    CONGRATS!!! Speedy recovery
  14. Can you store them at your gym as incentive for going? Can you stop buying bulk items that will potentially ruin your goals. Have you seen your NUT or team and asked for additional supports like group meetings or a revised plan to accommodate your lifestyle? If you want to be successful you really need to make some changes and the sooner the better. I don't know if you heard this info but we have a honeymoon period of weight loss where its almost effortless then afterwards you have to fight for every pound lost. You may be squandering your opportunity by indulging in things that won't help with weight loss.

Yay!!!! So glad your NUT had some answers for you and unfortunately some people never lose the hunger sensation. Eat as close to plan as you can for the best outcome and safe journey!

    Hairloss with vsg

Please research Telogen Effluvium and WLS for a full understanding of what to expect. Also your experience will vary wildly and unpredictably. I had mild hair loss compared to most but whether it was prayer, genetics or supplementation (or everything) is up in the air.
  22. 9 months post op and thanks to a birthday in July and using a bad scale at a doctors office I thought I lost and gained but there was literally no change , for a month. Lol. Welcome to the slow down. Now im Focusing on self image, because I'm still dealing with body dysmorphia. Just yesterday I bought a gorgeous bra set , non returnable, and it was too big. But I think I kinda knew it was too big , I just can't stop shopping for the old me. Anyone else do dumb sh#+ like this? Lol

Oh, I decided against the rental sites. They're expensive for what you get IMO. Can't rent pants because they have to be tailored. And for dresses, I bought some in the $30-$50 range. So even that is more affordable than renting.

Good to know those rental sites aren't worth it! I'm a minimalist so I only buy things I need ,love and goes with everything I already have so I don't buy much, and when I do get something it has to work for a while...

I'm also justifying buying more clothes than I absolutely need to at this point, because it makes me feel better about myself. Wearing fitted clothes and feeling attractive in them makes me legit happier.

    Worried about my wife

Unfortunately you can't delete these threads, they are here forever What you have to understand is mostly everyone here is a patient not a spouse so they have to fiercely protect their reasonings for surgery in a world that calls it elective when most of the time is life saving. So you look aggressively against it, it sends up red flags and they want to protect her and her decision . I'm going to side with you because you asked for help. You believe that there is a problem then get proof. Otherwise if there is no physical problems there may have developed a mental problem. It is not uncommon for food aversion or anorexia to develop after WLS. still you need proof and proper medical attention for your wife. Take a step back from your aunts story ( my sincerest condolences, really, tragic...) And carefully/quietly observe your wife to see what's really going on. Is she not eating because she can't or does not want to? Is she low energy or no energy? Subtle differences will help you determine how best to help Hoping the very best for your family

    Worried about my wife

Ok so instead of suggesting weight training which apparently is patronizing, I suggest physical therapy to repair the muscle you believe have atrophied. HOWEVER ONLY A DOCTOR CAN DIAGNOSIS THIS... BTW, I'm in both physical therapy and began to weight train so I'm not suggesting things I haven't tried, and this was after a real problem not something pretend.
