Try focusing on finding the best tasting (allowable and tolerable) foods in your current plan if you're having a tough time adjusting Like if you can't stand another boring grilled chicken breast try to rework the recipe ingredients and cooking methods. And proper spices will make all the difference. I had to cycle foods in and out because I couldn't tolerate them or would become adversed quickly. So I'd do a week of fish based meals, then a week of chicken, then legumes, then soy etc Safe Journey!

I recently gave up nuts (unless traveling only option) I was eating too many cals worth , its possible to start over and refine your diet as many times as you need. Good luck! -

I used to eat the wasa ones pre surgery but these have fewer ingredients so I decided to give it a go, I like them more. They are harder I think... -

Intermittent Fasting
GreenTealael replied to GreenTealael's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Decided to move into 20:4 to kick into gear since I was doing it wrong for a while, its the quickest way without going full fast. I have a very busy week where eating is secondary and it seemed like the best time to try the stricter method, but it's a few days no biggie (done it before full fast though... different beast) No anorexia for me but i do appreciate the concerns, im not willing to damage my body and lose my hair lol when I've lost all the weight I already wanted to, pointless and counterproductive so no high to chase, i feel regular like all my other fasting periods throughout my life. but I do like the freedom of not constantly worrying/thinking about eating, I do focus on hydration. I think this is a normal/non problematic lifestyle to adapt (hydrating more, eating less) also I think 72 hrs low protein absorption won't really affect me long term. Its good to have all the science for any one else who may find the thread in time to come, I'm just chronicling my experience and as technically incorrect as it may be, its a honest one. -
Intermittent Fasting

Opinions are welcome, i also have the discretion to refuse them. Which part is disordered? the process, the reason, the timing, the food? however I can clearly eliminate some of the protein (shake) from such a short window, there I will concede I have a day or two to go before dipping back down... Keep y'all posted! -

Revision from sleeve to Bypass Sept. 4th

Hi I don't know a lot about RNY but I've recently learned that apparently just within the standard RNY procedure there are different technical approaches your surgeon can take to give you different efficacies. Research, ask detailed questions, advocate for yourself and ask for the most effective procedure for you. You can do this, again! -
I highly recommend gently exfoliating/scrubbing the area especially after shaving. Also visit a dermatologist if you can to make sure it's not a recurring infection. side note: Laser hair removal, although expensive, works well even... if its just one or two treatments to just to stop the Ingrow hairs

Spoke with NUT recently and yes caffeine has its issues with calcium binding etc, but coffee specifically is highly acidic (or maybe just causes high acid production can't remember, exactly) and that's really what they worry about. Im going to find a decent low acid coffee, alternate with decaf and regular if im really hard up. Picking my battles...

Intermittent Fasting
GreenTealael replied to GreenTealael's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Not sure if the body can assimilate that much protein in that much time but I'm not heavily protein focused especially migrating towards full vegetarianism (I'm flexible now) and eventually veganism. Plus I'm almost 10 months out I don't think I'm at risk for protein deficiency Breaking the fast: Matcha w/ 5.5 oz premier 15g protein 30-60 mins later salad with eggs or chicken 12-14 g protein 60mins later coffee or match a w/ premier 15 g protein 30-60mins later rest of salad or salmon, chicken, or turkey, tofurky rye cracker sandwich, etc or more matcha w/ premier (rare) usually around 12-15 g protein I've removed snacks, condensed timeframe ... its really not that different than just having a busy day. 20:4 is not permanent, its speed up the process, then dip back to 18:6, etc. -
You can do it ... All!!!
-
YES, because eat oils, nuts and sometimes avocados. I also over estimate amounts I log in MFP for home recipes
-
You can set your macro levels to for your needs in MFP and it will give you alerts when you are too close to exceeding one. Since now we are told we need protein the most I sent my level to 60% and carbs/fats each get 20%. I obviously never exceed protein but this helps me to be more aware of carbs and fats. I add premier into other drinks (iced tea & coffee, hot tea & coffee) because I couldn't handle it alone. Now its a breeze. Almost too easy. Safe Journey!

GreenTealael replied to GreenTealael's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Very very true, No danger of that now, my post of diet eat/drinking schedule is still strict during the non fasting times. Im still fully on plan also, not excessively hungry, Its not bad tbh. -

Intermittent Fasting
GreenTealael replied to GreenTealael's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I have recently moved to 20:4 fasting with proper technique , although I use stevia, I will let everyone know what happens with weight loss the next time I'm weighed (l only weight at doctor's appointments, don't have one for a while) So far appetite is severely diminished. I could convert to OMAD no problem, but now I worry about hitting macro goals doing that. We will see how long I can sustain this style, then return to 18:6, 16:8 for longer term lifestyle. Drink choices during fasting hours are water, variety of green teas, ceremonial matcha, Drink choices during non fasting hours are water w/ true lemon water enhancer, matcha w/ protein shake , coffee w/protein shake -
IUDs are usually placed while you're on your period because your cervix is softer, open, it's easier, etc. But things don't always go to plan... @saygrace do what you are most comfortable with after researching, each method has pros and cons

I just realized that I'm up cycling my plus sized skirts (cutting them in half and sewing) for my two early teen daughters to each have skirts from. I'm just about out of clothes to upcycle!!!!
