Salmon croquettes *Disclaimer: these are fried, so no way to estimate the real cal count but each one has ~15g of protein Fresh poached/pouch/canned salmon, 1 egg, 1/4 cup flaxmeal, 1/8 cup chia seeds, 1 cup chopped spinach, various seasoning, dash of soy sauce Mix, form patty, pan fry in 1/4" oil until browned on both sides -

Take a look at Dr. Weiner on YouTube and his thoughts on set points and long term eat after WLS. I found it very helpful. Also proper IF helps your body to become fat adapted. But it takes the stricter protocols and consistency. That's where I'm heading, after this feast of course lol -
Also they can vary greatly person to person. For me it's usually anything too calorically dense, too smooth of a texture (protein bars, yogurt, etc) that doesn't spark the satisfied sensation. But by far my biggest sliders are nuts. I try to usually pair them with foods that don't have high calories or generally slide like kale (in a salad)

Can we please talk smell!?!?!
GreenTealael replied to fmellnick's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ok I totally understand I've been doing this for years because I don't use conventional deodorant I scrub my under arm area vigorously (but not painfully) with soap to get rid of any odors/bacteria build up from the day. It's the only way I could ever have transitioned to natural deodorant -

Dry (or wet) brushing in shower. I *scrub* areas that produce the most odors. Works for me. Unless you mean odor from your diet... -

I agree, suddenly people think I'm their type of because I look a certain way... men and women Sigh Guys yell from passing cars, are too forward, stare too long, Savages I think I legitimately was followed into the health food store a week ago by a woman trying to talk to me then she realized I wasn't interested in women It's different now, and not all sunshine and rainbows -

I do believe LLysine mitigated the rate & severity of my hairloss, but *generally* RNY hairloss is worse than VSG; genetics determines everything -

I used canned black beans (dried works but you'll have to soak them forever) any type will do that are unseasoned, I prefer organic, but can't remember the brand (maybe 365 from whole foods?) Toss in your favorite spices, mine are onion, garlic ,tumeric ancho chili, black pepper, basil, cayenne, parsley, etc Add a serving of oil continue to stir to coat all beans (I use either macadamias, hazelnut or Olive / whatever I have on hand) Add boiling water until covered, stir slightly. Then let it marinate. Fin. -
It may be the surgery. The body is doing 2 tasks while in a deep caloric deficits: fat loss and muscle building/repair. You're going to be tired and sore and may need some low intensity work outs on rest days. I notice that 2-3 days post lifting I'm still sore too instead of the usual 1 day pre-op. Don't take me as an expert I'm just a novice trying to keep some muscle tone

For all my daily weighers -
The first few weeks post op I was in alot of pain and also not in the best mood. I had a drain placed so I had to nurse that for about 10 bdays before it was removed. I started to feel better and like normal around 1 month post op. I think pain can colour your experience greatly. I ate very little and only the items allowed, I wasn't that interested in the foods in the weird phases, when I got back to regular foods (final phase) I was more hopeful and cooked the things I liked but made them the healthiest versions possible. Game changer for me. Try to avoid breaking the protocol of your diet, instead ask your team if you can excelerate the stages. If not take it for what it's worth and soon enough you will be back to whole foods and feeling better. Safe Journey!

Why am I losing weight so slowly
GreenTealael replied to virginia's weight loss's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi! Are you tracking with an app like MyfitnessPal? Can you post a screenshot shot of a random day when you were still losing vs now? Also how long since your weight has moved up or down? By 4 months post op I only lost 37lbs! I am a slow loser also. But things add up I'm the long run because at 10 months post op I'm about 90lbs down . -
Extreme Stress but Surgery Date Set
GreenTealael replied to Lillyrose130's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Extreme condolences for your losses and current struggles. Prayers for your family. Stay strong and focused. Stretch, sleep, cry, vent, breath. Stress wrecks the body and mind. Don't let it win. Your husband sounds like he wants you as healthy and happy as possible. He sounds very wise. I don't want to come off as a spokes person for WLS but the sudden and drastic improvements (complication free journey) can be life altering. It will take work, patience and time but hands down I would do it again 100% no matter the external challenges I maybe facing, because this is one decision/path you can control (ofcourse to an extent) Let us know how you are doing as your surgery approaches. -
