weigt loss stall 2 weeks post op

No worries mate, it happens to almost everyone and at various points in their journey. If you hit the magnifying glass (search icon) on this site and type in "stalls" you'll see A LOT of posts about the same thing you are experiencing. Welcome to the Club. *members only*

    Back pain

It could be muscle strain (and spasms) or sciatic nerve irritation. Laying in a prone position or any of the movements made to adjust you during surgery could have caused it. However, anecdotally, I noticed that the more weight I lost the less compression of my spine and it caused back pain for me. I had to workout (stretch and strength training) to target specific muscle groups to feel better and work on proper posture... Contact your team if it gets severely worse
  9. I tried that one and a few others, I think the scale I used runs on the YMCA modified body fat calculator (this one is Naval, there are about 4 additional calculator types?) They all give a range of answers... Sometimes I'm obese, overweight and healthy. Don't know which one should matter the most... Of course I want to pick it overweight because it matches my BMI but IDK... What system is everyone else using?

Feeling MISERABLE a little over 10 wks out

Mio + electrolytes, bone broth, the Crystal light w/electrolytes and even Pedialyte popsicles should help with restoring balance BUT You need water, your body can't function without it, you need A LOT and EVERYDAY. Consuming above requirements is easiest thing that you can do for your recovery and continued success Once that's resolved, fiber will keep you regular, vitamins and mineral supplements will boost your energy levels, protein supplements and eventually real food will give you lasting energy through nutrients. Contact your team and tell them you are struggling, they may have alot more tips.

    New Here

Unless already done these, you'll usually need to be cleared by a few more specialists including Cardio, Gastro and even a sleep study. Then the surgeons office will submit all the information to the insurance company and request approval/authorization for payment. Depending on how quickly you get through all of the pre-op testing (with no complications that need to be resolved first) , insurance approval and the schedule of the surgeon will usually the determine how fast you can have surgery. Your situation may be different so for an accurate answer ask if there is anything else you need to do Safe journey

    Need support

Put everything you think is causing the gain straight in the trash and search for bariatric alternatives. There are so many ways to substitute what you want for what you can have. Especially here in the BariatricPal store. A cleaner diet will help the most, but keep I'm mind there is a regain factor that is nearly unavoidable, you do however get a say in how much that is based on what you do next. Safe journey!

    SMH

My favorites have become: I'm _____ weeks out from surgery, doing EVERYTHING perfectly, it's not working & I'm _____ weeks post op and I'm tired of the meal plan/lifestyle changes I agreed to
  20. Motivation if/when the scale doesn't cooperate First time IFers , this still is good info for us too.
  21. In the event that you need back up plans, try checking out insurances policies through the Marketplace (AHA -Obamacare) seeing which cover WLS , are available to you, research them very well and switching to it during open enrollment. Also medical tourism. Safe Journey

    I don't understand!!!

Of course that's not practical, those are suggestions if you feel like you *need* to do something to see quicker/greater losses. (Those recommendations are from my team) You may have just been stalled, but now that you lost ozs things are moving again, just continue what you are doing (your plan) and try to understand that sometimes the process can be painfully slow. But you don't necessarily want quick, you want permanent.

    I don't understand!!!

I can't see the post with the meals. But try to first eliminate anything highly processed, too calorie dense & with more than 5g or sugar per serving or with added non naturally occurring sugar. These could be an early stalls/plateaus. But it is very early You may be carb sensitive. I am too. I stalled early out, I still stall quite often and usually for long periods so I often revise my pretty pure diet to suit my needs at the time.
