Intermittent Fasting Daily Menu/Results/Accountability
GreenTealael replied to FluffyChix's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Regular 16:8 fasting for me, but hydration challenge begins today so most of my meals were right before and after the gym. Done already. One last vegetable meal later. So a bit more tea and coffee then lots of pure water. -

1 year Post Op (BUT ISSUES...)
GreenTealael replied to RNY-Fall-2017's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Not a RNYer so take with a grain of salt... 1. Maybe electrolytes are off, especially potassium. Try that first to see if it improves. 2. Alcohol is now absorbed differently creating the possibility of a new addiction where none resided before. Some call it transfer addiction but it can be just plain addiction too. Careful. 3. Patches and gummies. If you can set it and forget it or it tastes like candy you may be more inclined to take them. 4. Contact your team for everything big or small. Even if it's just an email. They should be able to guide you. Demand it. I'm sure you paid good money for optimal health. Congrats! You look great and deserve to feel that way too. Safe Journey! -

Glass of wine week 5 post op
GreenTealael replied to Meggie1111's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
IMHO Focus on the basics for a while: vitamins, water, protein, fruits & vegetables. If those things are currently troubling you, you're not ready for empty nutrition liquid calories. They will halt progress. But as an adult, the choice is always yours. Safe Journey! -
Need help week 5
GreenTealael replied to Meggie1111's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you feel out of sorts go back to the stage you had no problems with and advance slowly. One specific product troubling you, try a few others for a while. Please tell your team are struggling and need a plan. They will help you, that is their job. Your NUT must provide you with adequate info and help. Safe Journey! -

Sounds like you have the basics! Plus the added hydration benefits (if you choose to go above 64oz) will move things around too. I've seen it personally. -

I guess the writers have their fingers on the pulse of our culture. Le Sigh People still think it's elective to choose better health, by any means necessary...

Forbes: Why high protein diets may be linked to Cancer
GreenTealael replied to Creekimp13's topic in Rants & Raves
The protein question is a very complex one and likely will remain that way because higher intake controls weight so well. And we are Sinclair's Jungle culture personified. I remember asking the forum awhile ago about optimal intake and erring on the side of less. I got mixed reviews. I did a ton of research none of which would properly load on the mobile platform (of course) but what I decide from it is was that I would flex in and out of optimal range because I wasn't convinced I needed to always have the most. I have debated this with my team too. But as always knowledge is power and talk every thing out with your team. I also found a study a while back that said plant protein sources were bioavailable and absorb differently in the intestines. I'll see if I can find it again. -
That sounds like a "character" problem more than health habits. He may be the same exact way at any weight or lifestyle.

Great question! But I'll tell you it may be a matter entirely of perception. Healthy = thin vs Unhealthy= overweight i just met someone who is naturally (and always will be) lean, that is not on the same healthy eating journey, doesn't have strict eating habits. It can be just as tough. But I'm not sure every part of life needs to be shared with a partner. I certainly never expected my then partner to complete research with me during my college years, or travel extensively with me to places they had no interest in. Why focus on this to bind/bond us. BUT maybe that's why I'm single!?!?! LOL

I liked the first few episides but haven't watched in a while. Sounding more and more like House, MD (which I loved)
