    Tips for incorporating Seeds.

The version I grew up with has a smoother silky texture, not really like grits.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who likes the tiny onion ring!

I did not. However my boyfriend did and it has been the biggest struggle to convince him that he is free to stop when he wants. At one point he, early on, he tried to control my intake, I had to set a hard boundary. He even apologizes if he can't finish something. I honestly wish parents didn't do this to children because it's feels impossible to reverse. Sending virtual hugs to you and strength for the battle.

Food. A lot of listeria contamination warnings lately but maybe it has always been this way and I’m just noticing.

    Affordable plastics

Medical tourism. Think Miami, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Colombia, Turkiye. I went with Miami but would have been comfortable with Colombia (Medellin specifically). These are cash markets but some places in the States accept care credit and other medical financing (personally I would not use these services). Join Facebook and Instagram groups to start your research. Good luck ❤️

No keto ice cream for me either, I think I have an allergy to monk fruit and the one brand I like made my mouth itchy. Also it seem to like unpopular or ice cream flavors of bygone eras: mint chocolate chip (but it must be mint flavored vanilla, not green), rum raisin and custom ice cream shop flavors of lemon poppy seed and lavender honey (which I was told was the most requested by their octogenarians patrons).

I’m definitely making this! My boyfriend became obsessed after having Cuban homemade flan in Miami during one of my plastics rounds. Just whispering flan from a different room and he’ll hear it. 🤣

    Balloon in...mental battle begins

    Speedy recovery and good luck!
  12. I didn’t want to scare anyone, just give the perspective of a surgeon who sees many cases. The doctor speaks on average outcomes. Your surgeon can speak to the specifics of your case which is why you should raise your concerns with them as soon as you have them.

    Tips for incorporating Seeds.

I would try on yogurt, cottage cheese or in an oatmeal/porridge (Do people even eat porridge anymore? 🤔)

Thank youuuuuu. These are the compliments I live for and is especially appreciated since my boyfriend just said that I’m “either dressed to the nines or look like a hobo. There’s no in between.” He’s not wrong 😑
  19. 7 years out this November (I can’t believe it’s been that long!) 1. The surgery did all of the work. I didn’t wake up hungry, I didn’t feel like I could eat more than recommended. I didn’t have any (initial) complications that slowed the weight loss process. 2. I was really strict and followed every rule pre and post op. I was super serious because I absolutely needed this to work. My motivation remains for medical reasons first and aesthetics second. 3. I limited calories from liquids. 4. I am finally ready to admit that I have a narrow palate. I don’t like most food and definitely not most fast food but in a pinch I will eat it *some* things. I cook the vast majority of my meals and most are very boring by foodie standards. 5. I was converted from VSG to RNY at my goal weight (GERD etc) and I’m sure the durability of RNY has made a difference in maintaining. 6. I was given a higher BMI range by my surgeon and thank goodness because getting any lower would have been a real struggle without added benefits. 7. I invested in plastics. I shouldn’t make sense or a difference but I didn’t want to mess up the work I had done plus removed skin and fat cells are gone forever. 8. I address the smallest regains IMMEDIATELY adjusting behavior and intake. I’m not ashamed of it or ignore it, I weigh often to stay accountable to myself. 9. I found what works for me and focused on that, adjusting as needed. I try very, very hard not to compare myself with anyone else. I never attached self worth or morality to weight (gained or lost). I think it helped immensely that no one ever bothered me about weight. I realize it maybe a different story if this wasn’t the case. 10. I check in yearly with my bariatric team.

This is my nightmare fuel every time my clumsy kid asks to help me prepare a meal. “Cut the cucumber… over t h e r e “ 🤣

Some food from my road trip: Classic (tourist trap 😀) burger and fries in Arizona. This became my only meal split throughout the day. I loved it. Flan and butter bundt cake with local tea selections (😊) in New Mexico. I barely ate any because it was a super sweet dumpling risk but I really like flan.

    Disagreement about surgery date

You may be right. It takes time for insurance approval, scheduling then the preop diet. But if offered Dec 30th, take it 🤣
