Liquids / acidic drinks

In our class they said no juices or smoothies. It would cause dumping because it removes the fiber and just leaves the sugar. -
Why is "unused" stomach and small intestines left in, in gastric bypass
wookieprincess replied to Katariina's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
In the sleeve they completely cut off part of the stomach. As it has no function anymore it is removed. They basically make the stomach smaller but do not bypass anything. In RNY they bypass part of the stomach and intestines then reconnect at a lower part. The acid from the unused part of the stomach meets up with your food at the Y. This helps you digest food. -

Also have you started removing caffeine? That can make you feel like that. -

Buyers regret

According to the folks at my program and stuff I have read, this is normal. As the fat goes away it releases hormones which leads to the crying. Keeping your fluid intake up, will help flush those out. Also you are changing your relationship with food which can cause you to go through a mourning period. Does your program have a therapist? It might be useful at this stage. If they don't you might want to look for one with experience with bariatric patients. I have not had my surgery yet, but everything I have read and heard from others who have, is that this will pass. Hang in there and take care of yourself. -

If you are working out then you are building muscle. It is not uncommon for those two to catch up with you. It's recommended that you use measurements as well as weight to track progress. The scale may stall for a bit, but inches can still come off. You have done a great job, so I would not worry about the scale.
