November sleevers here
LylaLovesCoffee replied to BabyFat23's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You're right. The struggle is REAL. I decided to add the water enhancers since Beatrice doesn't like plain water anymore. Maybe later that will change. Anything to get the protein and fluids down. Good Luck and I hope you find what works best for you. This is such a learning period/curve. -

I'm fixing to have my 2nd protein drink of the day. Fluids have staying down okay. I added some MIO flavour water and that makes my stomach happy. I will say that it takes me a while to get everything drank because I have to wait a minute for beatrice (what I named my new tool) to take what I give her and work with it to send it down the line. -
Weight loss already.

I started my protein drinks when I got home from the hospital. You're right, it will take you the whole day to get them down (I have to drink 3) but it can be done. I've been doing well keeping things down including jello and popcicles. One day at a time. -

I hear ya. Sippy Sippy Sippy is a little sing song I sing to myself. It gets me through it. Popcicles are worth 3 oz... just a heads up. -

I went through that the day after surgery. My incision where they took my stomach out hurts too. from what I've learned most of us will hurt there for a while... at least 6 weeks. -
Sleevers Soreness
LylaLovesCoffee replied to LylaLovesCoffee's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you so much. I knew this was gonna hurt.. but I didn't know for how long. I can live with it. I'm going to get sooo much more than a little pain out of this. -
I got my sleeve on 11/8. I was pre-warned by my cousin who had her sleeve last March that the incision where they took my stomach out is going to hurt. Anyone else going through this? Any ideas on how to keep the soreness down? So far all I've done is ice it, it helps for a little while until I have to move. I feel like I've done too many sit-ups and I now have a "stitch" in my side.

It was part of mine. I never felt it or knew it was going on. The only thing I had to show for it was a scratchy throat.. and it wasn't painful. Just breathe. You will get through this. -

You'll do great then. I was very calm before my surgery. I took it one day at a time. I knew there would be some bumps but that's okay.. bumps help you learn how to use your new tool. -

You've got this. I went in with hay fever and it worked out to my favor. For every cough or sneeze I got some of the gas out. Good luck on Wednesday! -

I patted and rubbed my chest like a baby and that seems to help me get the gas pains to go away. -

Weight loss already.
LylaLovesCoffee replied to Nataliesmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I too started at 342 and now I'm at 344. I'm still a bit swollen and have a lot of water gain, so I'm just going to wait it out. I'll be okay and you will too. -

I was sleeved on the 8th. I did fine on Wed, then Thurs I started having issues. Couldn't keep any thing down, they gave me a nausea shot and it didn't help took a while to find one that did. My stomach is no fool.. it hates me hahaha. I'm doing better after I slept some, and now I'm back to sipping water. So here's hoping I've turned the corner. Other than that my incision is still a bit sore from there they took my stomach out. I keep ice on it and that helps along with a pain pill. -

I'm still in the hospital. They're thinking tomorrow if I can get 2000 ml of fluid down. -

I'm kinda having that issue myself today. Too full to keep anything down and when I toss it back up it still won't let me sip. I'll get though this. I'm more stubborn. -

On it.. Also I found that sugar free popcicles are my friend. A little trick I learned is to have a little bottle sprayer that I spray a little water in my mouth to wet it and I get to sip the water. -

I got the nausea... but it didn't last long.. the gas pains in my chest was a PITA. I'm burping them up now. That spot where they took my stomach out hurts too, but I was told that was normal. I'm glad you did so well.
