    I'm upset...

I'm 6 weeks out. I have lost 23lbs. I have only lost 7 in the last 4 weeks. I'm doing what I'm supposed to do. I'm following what the doctor and dietician have told me to do. I'm afraid. I did something major to my body and the weight is holding tight. I'm upset and feel like a failure. I don't know what to do.

    I'm upset...

Thanks everyone, I'm just down. Working hard and nothing is happening. Of course, my old comfort food is unavailable. I appreciate your support.
  3. She told me it will put air in my stomach. No drinking out of a straw either for the same reason.
  4. I know it's so hard, but 25 lbs in a month is great. I'm sure you've never done that before. Everyone is different, try looking at the percentage of excess weight you lost.
  5. My doc said absolutely no gum. I use the breath strips, they're a tiny package that can fit in my pocket.
  6. Hi, can you please share what our self pay cost was? I'm trying to weigh all my options. I'm willing to travel if the price and service is right. Thank you!
  7. I'm guessing the overeating feeling is similar to what I have if I drink too fast. It hurts in my esophagus and I knew right away.

    Feeling sad after surgery...

I'm sorry. Are you tracking your food? Take it to your doc and/or your nutritionist and see what they have to say. Big hugs!
  9. Pureed favorite was refried beans and cheese topped with salsa and sour cream. It was heaven. I did tuna, roast beef hash, scrambled or mashed up hard boiled egg, thinned cream of wheat, cottage cheese with pear. I stuck to 2TBSP.
  10. That is about right. Can you feel it if you have too large of a sip or sips too close together?

    Feeling sad after surgery...

I haven't read the comments, but I am sure many will be the same as mine. I felt the same way! Crying, regret...pain. I promise it will get better. The first 10 days were really hard for me. It passed. I'm only 23 days out and feel a lot better emotionally. I still can't drive around town and pass a restaurant without missing it, so I don't drive around! It just makes me feel bad. Think of all the reasons you did this. Think of all the positive change coming your way. And doing it alone....wow! Find a support group, that will help too.

    Sleeping on your side?

I was about two weeks out before I could sleep on my side. I had to prop my head/uperbody up and a pillow under my knees to be able to sleep on my back.

    Wth

I'm guessing you are a week or two out. I had lots of hiccups. They'll pass.
  14. You will need them post op too. I'm two weeks out and am required to have two a day. Get a few cases.
  15. I start pureed tomorrow. I'm planning on refried beans. I have a ricotta bake on my list, roast beef hast (I don't know about that, but it was recommended), tuna, black beans, chicken. I'd love some ideas too.

    Popcorn

I was wondering the same thing. Popcorn is my thing and I hope someday to have it again!
  17. My surgery was 4 days ago. Overall I feel pretty good but I can't stand up straight I'm all hunched over. Did this happen to anybody? Does anybody know what this could be? Suggestions?
  18. By the way, several locations have the seminar online. University of Utah I believe was the last one I watched
  19. Thank you for this thread! Huge range of normal, I'm not so afraid now. Tuesday is my day!

    Pre Op Diet

Thanks for the tips. I'm on day 2 of 11 all liquid. Just coming off of what my doctor called the "liver shrinking"...that was much easier.

    Scared

I'm glad you have your boyfriend and friends to keep you strong! It's hard!
