Hi, I have never done a support group before so this is kinda scary to me. I had my bypass over 12 years ago. For the most part I have done well. My lowest weight was 140. Since then I have had 3 pregnancy's one which included a set of twins. I never gained much weight 15 lbs max for single preg and I only gained 30 with twins. I am older now 43 and have gained some weight back. 35 lbs if we are being honest. I have drank pop and have eaten things I probably shouldnt of. Is there a way after all this time to jump start my weight loss again? I have been trying to eat healthy and working out 3-5 x weekly at the gym. Just started keeping food diary again. I feel like I do when I was at my highest weight 274. Depression is setting in again and I don't know what else to do. Where I had my surgery never gave me good follow up. I always felt like I was in a factory that just pumped out the bypass but did nothing else. I am not one to usually share much of anyting with anyone. Any ideas would be appreciated!

I am so frustrated!!!! I followed everything last week. Was under in calories, worked out at least 45 min a day and did weights and I lost 2.5 lbs then bamb gained it back in one day and I did not even overeat. Kept my food planner got disheartened and mad so instead of digging deep I sabotaged myself with a damn sprite (well lets be honest thats all I drank for 2 days with some water) and now I am right back where I started. Now behind on my goals and disgusted with myself. I am wondering what else I can do! I am getting back on track. Does anyone know how pre menopause effects us? I have new insurance so I asked if I can just go see a Bariatric dr to have a check up and my insurance said only for surgery. I dont need surgery just an damn appointment. Sorry but thanks for the vent! -

So tomorrow for work we are going to a pizza joint. I am trying to hard to be good and keep my carbs down esp. My stomach does not handle salad very well. Any suggestions? They have fried raviolis, fries, fried mozzarella sticks, fried zucchini and chicken tenders (4 for $6.99) and wings that are super expensive and of course pizza. Good grief what should i do? -

I am so glad that I found this thread! I am 13 years out from my bypass and 35 lbs have crept up on me. I just barley found this website. I have support at home but since my bypass I have had no follow up with my Dr (i feel like i went to a meat factory) and no support system there. My regular Drs are not as familiar with bypass so being this far out I have no idea what to do or if I should have anything checked. So since my surgery I have had three pregnancies and 4 kids (i have a set of twins). I was really good with my weight gain there only 15 lbs for my son and daughter and 30 lbs for the twins. My weight gain came after the twins. I started to drink pop again. Big mistake. my portions have increased and my exercise was zilch. I hate the way I look. I feel like I did before my surgery when I weighed 272 lbs. I have set a goal to loose that darn 35 lbs the healthy way with diet and exercise. I am going to cut out carbs as much as I can and have quit drinking soda. I have also increased my workout to at least 45 min every day. I love the fact you chose to do this! I look forward to joining you on your journey. Current weight 172.4 Goal Weight 140 Thank you again! -
I get so frustrated because my body does not react like it used to!!
