  1. I feel your pain. I'm 7 weeks post op and 2 weeks back to work. I work in a GI procedural area and I have no time to slowly eat or drink anything. I go from one procedure to the next within 10 minutes. I also had a hernia repair with my vsg. Lunch is too short to eat slow meals and I'm often very sick after I eat lunch. Probably eating too fast. I don't have time to drink much water either. I feel so bad after lunch that I wanna resort to not eating lunch at all. I have not figured it out yet and I am suffering.
  2. I am 7 weeks post op. My surgeon sent me back to work at 5 weeks with bad incisional pain at large incision site. The muscle pain was extremely bad weeks 1-4. Was barely feeling a tiny bit better when they sent me back to work as a nurse in a procedural area. I suffered that first week back because I had to push patients on carts to recovery with no help. At 7 weeks it is much better.

    Incisional pain

Thank you for replying to my post. At my 2 week post op appointment I told them I was still in a lot of pain. I was told to move and walk more, and was told I could return to work in 2 weeks, which would be 4 wks post op. I will stay on them because I refuse to return to work when I can't even bend over and tie my shoe. I have to do a lot of bending, pushing and lifting at work.
  4. I had my sleeve/hernia repair 3 weeks ago on 6/6/17. I am still having really bad pain at the largest incisional site. Surgeon prescribed ultram every 4 hours and told me to buy a girdle or spanks to give compression and support to abdomen. He says I am hurting because he cut my muscle. I cannot bend over or twist from side to side because of the severe pain. I am still home and due to return to work on July 10th. Ive seen others return to work within 1-2 weeks. Have some of you experienced a lot of incisional pain? Anyone been off work more than 3 weeks? Any suggestions for me?
  5. @hmills653 Thank you so much for your post. I too am a nurse in a procedure area. I can't see myself being able to push patients to recovery with all this pain. Everyone keeps telling me it will get better but I haven't noticed a difference yet. That muscle area hurts so bad that I can hardly move or stand. I feel like my insides are being pulled at from the outside of my body. My return to work date is july 10th but my second follow-up date is not until july 21st. I think I will call them.
  6. I had the gastric sleeve and hiatal hernia repair on June 6th. I am still having pretty bad incisional pain at the larger incisional site. I also have pain in my chest after I swallow liquids or food, almost as if it gets stuck. Kind of miserable at this point. Dr says I'm progressing as expected and gave me a return to work date of July 10th. I don't feel as if I will be ready by then, I can't even stand up straight. It feels as though my insides are being pulled apart. At almost 3 weeks post op, I do am still going through pain and discomfort. i walk with one hand applying pressure at the large incision site to try to reduce the pain i feel. Has anyone else had these experiences and when does it go away?
