    Any January 2018 Sleevers?

They’re from a person on Etsy. She hand makes them and will personalize them with different faces and whatever you want to put on the back, name, surgery date, etc... and they come in various colors. I love them! Any January 2018 Sleevers?

Good idea! Thank you, I think I will! [emoji175] my surgery is Monday and I cannot wait! I am having my gastric band revised to a sleeve. I just got these adorable pillows in today just in time for my surgery! I’m going to be using them as stomach pillows for when I need to cough or sneeze or laugh.

    Any January 2018 Sleevers?

I actually don’t have a pre op diet other than full liquids the day before surgery. I kind of wish I DID have a pre op diet... my surgery is Monday and I’m like WHAT IF I GAIN A COUPLE POUNDS AND THEY TURN ME AWAY?!?!

    Any January 2018 Sleevers?

ME TOO!!! I just got my date today!! I am SOOOO excited!! My pre-op tests are on 1/16. Now I just have to hope that insurance approves it! January 29th can't come soon enough! ETA: I'm being revised from band to sleeve. I'm hoping he can do it all in one surgery, but he warned me that it may have to be done in two parts, depending upon how nasty things are in there (scar tissue and such).

    Do people actually date anymore?

Oh, don't worry! It's not your age! I feel the same in my 30's. Dating in the 21st century is such a joke! No one seems to know how to communicate anymore, especially in person. Hang in there, though! There's bound to be at least one diamond in the rough! <3 (but it's depressing, for sure!)

    Do people actually date anymore?

Yes to all of this. I'm 36 and terminally single also. Like you, everyone I find is either way too into my extra weight (still werkin on it), has some other weird fetish that takes precedent over everything else, is a loony bin or likes to sleep around behind my back (I must say though, THAT is the worst). I haven't been on a date in over two years because I was just so disgusted with it all. I've been thinking about getting back into the pool, but I just don't know if I want to put myself through that right now. I might just wait until after my revision to even really think about it (Gastric Band has been bothersome, so trying to revise to sleeve). UGH! Hang in there y'all! Hopefully we'll all find our Mr./Ms. rights when the time comes...

    GAINED 4LBs....8 weeks post.

Congrats on the scale moving! Your posts are breaking my heart. I've dealt with OCD since childhood (officially diagnosed at the age of 20, I'm now 36). Over the years, I've been able to conquer it pretty well and have worked my way out of a lot of my behaviors, but I definitely still feel it nagging at my mind when I get super stressed. Are you seeing a therapist? I did for a while and it helped me work through it all. Berry is amazing and has given you such wonderful advice (which I will probably refer back to once I get my revision from lap band to either the sleeve or RNY...still slightly up in the air as to which... decisions are extra hard with OCD, as you probably know)! I don't have any additional advice regarding the sleeve, but I'm wondering if all the stress could have been slightly elevating your cortisol levels? That can make us hang onto weight, for sure. If you can follow Berry's great advice and your stress levels are able to come down a bit by doing so, maybe that will also help the weight to start to fall off faster! Best of luck and know you're not alone and OCD can get better/more manageable! [emoji172] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Psych visit

So glad it went well!! I have my psyche eval this Thursday! I'm not too nervous because I've been working on dealing with/overcoming my food addiction/binge eating disorder and I've been doing really well... but it's always a little nerve wracking! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Trying to Decide - Sleeve or RNY?

Hi! I'm 5'7" and currently 240 pounds. I'm not sure what my goal weight is because I've never been under 200 pounds since around the age of 10. I'm thinking 160-170ish? I'd honestly be thrilled if I can get to onederland! I have PCOS. I had diabetes before my lap band, but that's resolved from weight loss. I was told recently that I also have hashimotos, but it must be incredibly minor because I'm not on any medication for it. I have occasional acid reflux, but not as bad as GERD. So... I'm kind of torn. I honestly should have had the RNY back in 2009 when I was 335 pounds, but I couldn't afford it. It was all I could do to pay for lap band (I didn't know much about medical tourism and it kinda scared me if I had any complications). Anyway, what do y'all think? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Hi all! I've decided to definitely have my band removed. I had it placed in 2009 (self pay. Stupid bigoted "obesity clause" with my insurance at the time). I've been vomiting on a pretty regular basis for the past 8 years and have port pain if I move/bend the wrong way. I did lose 100 pounds, gained 45 back due to a couple of injuries, but I'm almost back down to my lowest again (5 pounds away! I can taste it!!). Anyway, I met with a doctor at a weight loss clinic for my first consultation last Wednesday. The meeting went really well, she agreed that I should probably have it removed and she had someone remove half of my fill (I haven't thrown up since!! But I DO feel hungrier and can eat more now, which is a little scary for me...). I asked her which surgery she thought I should get and she didn't really have an answer for me. She gave me the pros and cons of each and said it's really up to me. Can anyone make any recommendations to me? If you had the sleeve, are you happy with it? Do you wish you had the bypass? If you're reading this and had the bypass, same questions to you. Any input is appreciated! Thank you!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
