Yes. I know what you mean. When I look in the mirror I look like the same person. But my clothes tell a different story, and that is the real judge. Hang in there. We all heal differently. It should get better soon.

Summer Sleevers....I would love to have a buddy

Hi Betty!! Just checking to see how you're doing. I remembered we had a surgery on the same day! June 20th. Are you tolerating foods well? What are you eating? -
Don't get discouraged!!! Have you lost any weight? Remember all the those treats that you see everyone else eating is what got us in trouble in the first place. Try to look at it from a different perspective. Look at the results that you achieved. I wish I had more restriction like you because I don't want to fall back into the same trap again. It's scary!! Just take it one day at a time.

Hello!!! Just checking in to see how everyone is progressing??
-
Same here!! And it's much darker like I haven't been drinking as many fluids. I'm trying to drink more water, to see if there's any difference.

The first few days post op for me were a bit challenging. I was sick of the broth and jello, but as you advance to full liquids , it gets better. Whenever you get frustrated, you have to think about the long term effects this will have on your health. It's for the best. You'll be fine!!

Nice!!! Good luck to you!!! Who's doing your surgery? Where? Please keep us posted! I'm doing well, taking it one day at a time. I'm in my pureed stage right now, looking forward to starting my soft food stage next week.

I'm having a hard time getting my protein in as well, but that should improve as we move into the puréed diet stage. -

First I was getting a little discouraged because of the clear liquids, but now that I'm on full liquids, I feel like there is hope. I'm experimenting with a lot of soups, I feel like the best thing is variety. You do get tired of drinking broth, and tea. Another thing that is my saving grace are the sugar free popsicle sticks. I'm actually looking forward to purée diet next week. It is very challenging to get the protein that you need, because I think that is essential for energy. And multivitamins are important.

Since I started full liquids, I'm doing much better. I'm trying to figure out the hunger thing too. FYI... sugar free ice pops have been my saving grace for the past couple days..We just have to take it one day at a time. Let's hang in there. -

Hi BettyTrigo! We had our surgery on the same day, let's encourage each other. How are you doing so far? -
I had the lap band done in 2009. It didn't work well for me either, so I had it removed in February, and just got the sleeve done on Tuesday. I'm seven days post op. I was told the fatigue comes from the lack of protein in the diet, also have to continue taking a multivitamin ( gummies). Once I increased my protein intake the fatigue was down to a minimum. It's all about your body getting readjusted. The first few days after the sleeve, will be challenging, but you will get through it. Good luck with everything.

I had my surgery on 06-20-17. The first few days have been rough, I'm finally on full liquid diet now and I'm seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, because I am a little bit more encouraged with the full liquid diet. We have to remember that the discomfort that you will feel is only temporary and once you get over those first four days, you will be fine.
