Stupid things people say when they find out you've had surgery....
Half-Tum replied to Awjones28's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I HOPE that people ask me "How are you losing all this weight?" I'm a very creative person and I like to mess with people so I can think of some really good responses to elicit surprise from these people.... "I have a GIANT tapeworm. It's the new craze from Europe. Yep, it's a tapeworm and his name is Justin. As in, he's Justin my Large intestines." "I've been donating all my fat on a monthly basis to fill the Kardashians parts. Lips, ass, boobs, they all not only have a little Ray Jay in them, they also have a fair amount of me." "Oh Am I? It must be all the stupid questions I answer all day long. Burns A LOT of calories. You should try it." Stuff like that. Or this..... -

I love this post! -
Thanks for coming back and sharing. I got to hand it to the ladies, but since I am a guy, I really get inspired seeing the progress that other guys who had before bodies that look like I do now make in their weight loss.

How has your life changed for the better?
Half-Tum posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am new and a few weeks away from my surgery. I've been looking at before and after pictures and of course I am wowed and motivated and excited. What I'd also like to know is if you could share stories about how the weight loss has effected your life; From the most mundane thing to the most amazing. Feelings that are different, little things that you realize have changed, big things you realized have changed, things that are easier, things that are harder, how people treat you differently or not...anything like this is what i'm interested in if you're interested in sharing....... -
Dang. Another inspiring pic!

Is it normal to feel this awkward?
Half-Tum replied to Christina109's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Personally I don't feel awkward or embarrassed about the surgery at all, just the opposite. I am excited and I am ready to change. I feel awkward and embarrassed about my weight now. -

So your surgery date is July 24th? Me too. -
I have my consult on the 14th and afaik now, I'm to be sleeved on the 24th. This forum and site have kept me pretty calm. I work for my father so luckily I can take all the time I need. I don't plan for anything more than a week though. Also, my wife is a RN and will be helping me immensely. I am lucky.

What should I have AT HOME immediately after surgery
Half-Tum posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Can some of the experienced members tell me what it's good to have foodwise/medwise at home following my sleeve? Should I have a good blender? etc etc..... Any insight would be appreciated. -

What should I have AT HOME immediately after surgery
Half-Tum replied to Half-Tum's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ok. Yeah, that sounds like me, big belly. I'm a bit of a light weight when it comes to pain so I'll be getting one or two of these I suspect. I mean, the same thing helped when I used it on my knee recently so I get the concept. -

I wonder why you don't get to keep it if you ask. It's a piece of YOUR body.
