Hey everyone. I had surgery on 1/8/18. I am doing ok. It is harder than I thought it would be. It is hard getting all of the water in, protein and all of the required vitamins. It is a lot. How is everyone else doing? Please share your successes and not so successful results. We are all different so dont be surprised if someone loses less than someone else. I wish everyone well and hope things are going great!

I am so glad that you are doing well. Can you give me any tips on getting more water in? I feel like I am always water logged. I use flavoring for water but need other ideas.

Yes I made a secret facebook group. I think some people think that it is only for people who had surgery on Jan 8th. The facebook secret group is open to everyone regardless of when or if you have had surgery. You just need to email me at seekinbigbadwolf@aol.com and I will give you my facebook name. Tennisboy11, I worry when you said you were drinking protein drinks so soon. I am not allowed protein drinks for at least the first week. Please be aware that protein will make you more constipated. My doctor gave me colace laxative on one of the days in the hospital to help get everything moving the right direction and to help with gas pain. Then the next day he gave me milk of magnesia which is a laxative. Both made a big difference and I believe that is what helped with the gas pain and helped me feel better. One thing that I have heard from others is comstipation can get so bad and extremely painful. Avoid at all cost.

Hi guys, how are all of the Jan 8th sleevers doing? I had surgery Jan 8th and I am not going to lie, it was rough. I was so extremely nauseated. They gave me so many anti nausea meds and I even talked to the anesthesiologist ahead of time so he would do things to lessen the nausea. It didnt help. I threw up and wretch all of the first 2post OP days. I asked the doctor to bump up the iv fluids as I didnt want to get dehydrated or contribute to kidney stones. I have a history of stones. I ended up stayimg an extra night. Just got home today and have some nausea. Pain wasnt bad. I only used pain meds the first 2 days and then I really didnt need them. I made sure that all bodily systems were working before I left hopsital as I didnt want to be back in the ER. I am posting this to be honest and I do not want to scare anyone. If you are constipated you need to contact your doctor. I have heard horror stories about constpation and not getting it taken care of. Protein will make you constipated especially protein drinks.

I am scheduled first thing Monday morning 1/8/18. I have been nervous for so long that I now want to hurry and get it over with. I want to be on the road to recovery. What is everyone bringing to the hospital to make them more comfortable?

I had my lap band removed in 2011 I think. They never could give me a fill because it was always too tight. I would burp water. lol I could not eat very well. Good luck to you.

Congrads on your surgery. I am scheduled on 1/8. Check with your surgeon. I am so happy that you are not having any problems keeping hydrated. This is my worry. They should tell you if you are overdoing it but you can't expand your sleeve on just clear liquid. Good luck!

I am so nervous. I am nauseated because I am so nervous. How is everyone else doing? I am scheduled Jan 8th for a sleeve. I have waited and planned for getting surgery for a long time. How can I stop this nervousness? Does anyone have any tips on what to bring to the hospital? I hope we all stay in contact and become buddies. I did not like the Barimelts because they were chaulky and gross tasting. They dont actually melt but as chewables. I want something that is easy and tastes good for a vitamin.
