4 weeks post op and i'm hungry why?
Togunrinde replied to Mrsgarfish's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would double check with your doctor. As well as a couple things. Is it head hunger? Is your mind telling you you should be eating more? Or is your stomach giving you physical indications that you're actually hungry? There is a difference. And if it's the latter, then maybe you need more protein -

So I'm three weeks out. And the one week I didn't work out is the week I haven't lost weight. But I was also under the impression if I exercise too much at the rate of which I eat meals (under 800 calories in a day) , that would stall weight loss as well. So I wanted to compare to those who are probably in a similar situation. About how much exercise should we be getting in at this time

I regret this surgery
Togunrinde replied to QueenTiff's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
First I want to say that your feelings are valid. I'm going through something similar in that I've been more so disappointed with the results so far and wish I did a different type of surgery. And it's ok to admit that. But don't let your disappointment derail all that you've accomplished so far. And know that it gets better. It's easier said than done, trying to stay positive but it's what has to happen. I'm rooting for you and know you're not alone [emoji177] -
August Sleevers-How are you doing??
Togunrinde replied to Ash_Bri85's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Surgery August 7th. Recovery went pretty smooth. I'm more so disappointed that I haven't lost more in three weeks. Didn't lose anything this third week. But I'm thinking maybe it's because I didn't walk twice a day like I was doing prior and I know I'm awful about getting protein in. Regular water has been decent. It's kind of making me wish I had done the Mini Gastric Bypass like originally wanted instead of the sleeve. It's frustrating. I was talked out of MGB because so many people were concerned with how young I was and the quality of life going forward. Anyway, I'm just going to try my best. Back to the gym twice a day and focusing on liquids and proteins. Hopefully that will result in a loss this week. -
Post op people only! Anyone in here that doesn't cook???
Togunrinde replied to xoxococojay's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I hated cooking prior to this process. It's part of what got me in trouble. But for me, what I've just recently gotten into that helps is a slow cooker. Throwing things into the pot in the morning and by the time it's dinner it's ready. Also having small things that pair well with others like deli meat and cream cheese or something like that that takes a couple seconds to put together. And then finally, I believe in leftovers because when we cook stuff it's almost like meal prepping because you have enough for the rest of the week! Which cuts down on the time cooking the rest of the week. Hopefully something in that helps -

*edit, dice the peppers during step 1 before blending. -

It's really easy! 1 large egg, two habanero peppers(I like spicy food), four skim/low fat cheddar cheese cubes( sliced and diced). Shredded will also work! Two slices of turkey breast(ham also works!). 1. Crack the egg and whisk with the peppers and cheese. Then purée in blender to ensure everything is blended well enough. 2. Grease Muffin pan. Put the turkey/ham slices as the lining of the muffin pan cups. It's ok if there's excess outside of the cups. 3. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. 4. Pour egg into turkey/ham Muffin cups. Top with more cheese if desired 5. Bake for about 24 minutes Et voilà ! This should make two "muffins" Depending on your own size it might make only one if you use just one egg. -

I did end up almost finishing one of them! For context, this is one large egg puréed and split between two mini muffin cups! And it tasted great, went down easy, stayed down. Might have the other one for breakfast tomorrow! -

Oven roasted turkey breast cup filled with puréed egg, habanero pepper and cheddar cheese. Let's see if I can eat at least one -
I'm just getting into puréed foods so I haven't had food protein yet. But I'll keep that in mind going forward, thank you!
-
I am finally FINALLY transitioning into the pureed stage officially and I wanted to get a list of foods/recipes(besides just taking food and putting into a blender) to make for the next 1-2 weeks. Creativity is a plus! And I would definitely love the recipe for the infamous ricotta bake I've seen floating around . Or what's on your must have shopping list during this phase. Thank you!

For context, I had my surgery on the 7th. I feel like maybe I'm eating more than I should be. I see people saying they can only get a couple bites of something and they actually feel full. But I can eat more than a couple bites and I'm actively conscious of how much I eat so I force myself to stop. There is a slight feeling of fullness by that point but even still. Should I be eating less? What are the signs of being full?

Any August 2017 Sleevers?
Togunrinde replied to Jessalene's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
One week post op. Officially on "full liquids". Struggling with getting in protein. Liquid has been decent though. My question is, is there any point in keeping track of carbs to keep in ketosis or just stick to fluids and protein?
