Insurance may cover protein shakes
BrittneyMarie80 posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So I just learned that if you go to insurenutrition.com They can see if your insurance will cover protein shakes and they send them to you! Thought it was really cool and that I would share the knowledge. I haven't tried it yet because I'm just starting my 6mo medically supervised stuff for insurance. -
Nevermind, I found it! It's insurenutrition.com

I tried to go to insure.com and it was just a site to sell me insurance. Could it be a different site

What is the 6month supervised weight loss.
BrittneyMarie80 posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ok, so I'm just getting started on the WLS journey. I haven't even seen my surgeon yet. I am fairly certain that my insurance will cover the sleeve surgery once I jump thru the hoops, but I was wondering if anyone can give me more details. I have Anthem Healthkeepers ( same as anthem BCBS I assume). And I have a BMI of 44.4, but no comorbidities at all. As far as the 6month supervised weight loss thing, how does that typically work? Am I just writing everything I eat and drink down and workouts? Do I check in with the Dr monthly? Just trying to get a handle on this whole thing. Thanks y'all!! -
Did anyone HATE water post op?

Well popcicles are probably a good bet for you then, as they are just liquids in a frozen form. You could freeze your crystal light into popcicles. -
Eating out with family who doesn't know Help!
BrittneyMarie80 replied to DedicatedLady's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So I have chosen not to share my (future) WLS surgery with many people either. Just my support people. Simply because it's not their business. And as far as the food, order what you want, and take the rest to go. That way you can eat on it for several meals. If anyone is rude enough to point out that you didn't eat much, you simply tell them that you are until your body said it wasn't hungry anymore, but that you will definitely be able to enjoy the leftovers tomorrow for lunch. -

Maybe try adding Mio to your water. It's a sugar free flavor enhancer. I'm pre-op still, but I use Mio a lot. I would assume you could use it post op. Plus there are a ton of flavor options. Hope this helps
