    December 2005 bandsters

    Hi All, I had my banding on December 26, 2005 in Houston, Texas by Dr. Robert Marvin. I did great at first but then I developed some medical complications. I am back on track now, and I still have 50 pounds to lose and I am doing through low carb. It is working for me. I am still not exercising enough but I am trying to do better with that. Mary

    Band "season" ?

    I was banded in December 26, 2005. Once my insurance was approved, then it had to be done by the end of the year. There was very little food at my house this past Christmas season. Mary

    To Fill or Not to Fill?

    Kim, I think that if you are fighting with the same 2 pounds, then it is time for another fill. I had my second fill on March 8 and they did not fill me so much that I got sick. Talk to your doctor's nurse and get her opinion. Mary

    Does Anyone have hypothyroidism?

    Hi, I have been taking medication for hypothyrodism since I was 16 and now I am 52. I was banded on December 26, 2005 and I have lost 35 pounds since then. You and I have to remember to take our medication every day. Mary

    Boot Camp Lbt Style

    One more pound gon this week. When I went for my 8 week checkup, I have lost 8 pounds this past month which makes a total of 35 pounds since Dec.26 when I had a banding. I am on spring break this week and I have started cleaning out my closet. Everything that is too big is going to Good Will. I already have 1 huge box and 3 huge trash bags full. This feels so good.:clap2: :clap2: But since I am home, I am going to have to watch myself to make sure that I don't constantly graze and snack. Mary

    Hey Sarge, it has been a bad week since I haven't lost anything. Oh the other hand, I didn't gain anything either and that is a good thing. I have been sick and then I twisted my knee so I couldn't exercise. Hopefully, next week will be better. Mary
  13. The doctor put me on anitbiotics yesterday. The doctor wrote the prescription for capsules. When I got to the drugstore, I asked the pharmacist to change the capsules to liquid. This way, there is one less problem to worry about while I am sick. I hope you feel better soon. Mary

    Hey, Sarge, Put me down for 1 1/2 pounds this week. I did not get all my water in this week and I only did water aerobics twice. I know, I know, now excuses, but I twisted my right knee, could barely walk, came down with sever upper respiratory infection, and had a bitch of a week at school. :cry I promise to do better next time. Congratulations to everyone that is trying this week. Some weeks we loose and some weeks become survival weeks. Whatever your week was, congratulations on whatever you accomplished. Mary

    Hey, Sarge, I'm checking in. I drank my Water, did my water aerobics, and received my first fill. I have lost 2 pounds.:puke: I still haven't taken my measurements, but I promise to do that done when I get home from water aerobics tonight.     Thank you for your support. I hope that next week your weight loss catches up with your BMI. I think that it is awesome that you are able to exercise the way you do. I have already had my left knee replaced and will probably have to have the right one replaced this summer. I do water aerobics which is easy on my knees. I would love to do some regular exercises also. I appreciate all the support that is given by the members of this board.:biggrin1: Mary

    Somebody catch me because I"m gonna faint. :faint: I have drank my water, ate small meals and snacks, gone to water aerobics 4 times this week and I have lost 5 pounds. I stay hungry and I feel like I am eating all the time.:hungry: Do you think my scales are broken? I go in for my 1st fill on Wednesday, but I don't think I am going to get one. Mary

    December Bandsters: First Fill Yet?

    I am supposed to get my first fill on Feb.1. However, right now, I am wondering if I will get one. I have lost 26 pounds. I lost 20 the first week when I was on fluids and 6 in the past 3 weeks while I have been on soft and regular foods. :faint: Now, mind you I am not complaining that I have lost this much weight, but this past week I have stayed hungry. I want to get a fill so that I don't get as hungry as fast. You know, us humans are never satisfied. Mary

    Woohoo!!

    I love Water aerobics. I used to go all the time, but some reason I stopped going and never got back in the habit. (I remember now, I gained more weight and didn't want to buy a bigger swim suit.) I am starting back on Monday. My month of walking for exercise will be over tomorrow night and I can't wait to get back into the water. Everybody ought to try it. It is great exercise, is easy on bad knees, reduces stress, and helps you sleep like a baby. If you are planning a trip to the coast, please include me.     :clap2: I have lost 2 pounds this week and I am so excited. I have not meausred myself but I will this next week. People at school are telling me that I looked like I am losing several inches.     Your Food Poll

    :eek: This is my first week on regular food and I am trying to eat low fat and low sugar. I am eating my protein first followed by my vegetables and carbs. It is so nice to be back on regular food. Mary

    Boot Camp Lbt Style

    I have lost 1 pound this week. I ate right and drank my Water. The only exercise that I am allowed is walking and although I did that, I think I could have done more. I really want to get back into my water aerobics, but am supposed wait one more week. Tonight I go off soft food and tomorrow I start regular food. I am worried that I will get carried away and eat too much of the wrong foods. :nervous I am going to have the right mind set so that I eat correctly this next week. I want to loose at least 2 more pounds before I go in for my first fill on Feb.1. I can do it, Sarge. Good luck, everybody, this next week.:clap2:

  25. Cheri, Thanks for the suggestion. I am getting my 50 grams of Protein. I make sure I get that first. I called my doctor's nurse and she told me that it is normal to get tired. I am trying to take it easy today and tomorrow before I go back to school on Monday. Dealing with 3- & 4-year olds is tiring enough without the surgery mixed into it. If you work outside the home, how long did you stay out before you went back? Mary
