Hi Everyone- I am looking for a Mentor from the New York Area. I live in Queens. I had surgery on April 21st & I have only lost 20 pounds. I have had 2 fills & have no restriction. I have 5cc in a 14cc band. My doctor only gives fills every 6 weeks no exceptions( & I hate that!) I need someone who could point me in the right direction with a sample menu of ideas on what to eat. My doctors office dietician is Horrible. She can't answer how many calories we eat in a day or what we should try to eat & that irritates me. Anyway if there is anyone out there please send me an email. Trubeliever35@aol.com . Hopefully when I get to my sweet spot I will drop more weight.

I know how you feel. I had my surgery the end of April. I have lost 25 pounds. I don't have restriction yet. I have 5 cc's in a 14cc band. I will get my 3rd fill in October. My doctor will only let you get a fill every 6 weeks and not closer. That has been a problem with me & they only put in 2 cc at a time. I wish I would have known this before I had surgery. I might have chosen another doctor. They told me with a 14cc band it could take at least 5 fills before I get there. I need to add in more exercise daily. Hang in there. My doctor insists I will lose more when I get to my Sweet spot. I hope he is right.

Hi Everybody- I have been banded since April 21, 2008. I have lost 20 pounds. I lose & regain the same 5 pounds over & over. I need a Buddy. Someone that can help me with a Food Plan. I am in New York. I am Married Mother to a beautiful boy that will be 1 this week. I was so excited to get the Lapband. My excitment disappears more everyday when the scale does not move. I know its my fault. My doctor only gave me my 1st fill after 9 weeks ( his rule). It did nothing for me. My 2nd fill is this Friday & it can't come fast enough. Currently I have no restriction with 3cc in a 14cc band. Any advice & a buddy would be great please email me at jenlevy33@aol.com. Thanks

I have tape covering all my incisions. I had surgery on Monday, 4/21. When does the tape come off & should I wait till I go back to the doctor for it to come off. My appointment is next wednesday.

Hi I had an umbilical hernia repaired with the LapBand Surgery. I would not worry about it. Everything went well. That was on April 21st. I am still waiting for my 1st fill & it has been hard. My 1st fill is next week & I can't wait. Good luck with your upcoming surgery. You will be fine. Jeanette

They told me NO HeAVY LIfting & that includes my son who is 18 pounds for 3 weeks. I picked him up after 2 weeks. I had my mother in law helping me.

Hi Janelle- My name is Jeanette. I live in New York. I am 36 years old. I thought about getting the band for a long time. I was a size 24/26 when I started the journey. I was just banded on April 21st. I am down about 15 pounds but the band is not filled yet. I know what a hard decision it can be. I myself was 310 when I started. Hi All- I can't believe I am banded. I had surgery on Monday, 4/21 & I also had a hernia repaired. I feel great just sore. It was actually more painful giving birth to my son. Well , when will I feel different. I don't know why but I keep getting on the scale daily to see if I lost weight. I know it has only been 2 days but I don't remember the last time I had something to eat, that wasn't liquid....... When do you start to see results on the scale?

I am having surgery next Monday & I don't know what to tell my boss & job. I don't want them to know I am having Lap-Band surgery. I was going to say my appendix or gall Bladder removed. I need some suggestions. My boss is really tough & would not understand this surgery & my need for time off from work. I am only taking a week. I am a sales person so I am only around my boss once a month or so. Thanks in advance.:biggrin:

My surgery was cancelled because I am sick. The Pulmonologist won't clear me for surgery till I am better. I am so upset & I already was on all liquids for nothing :ohmy: I spoke to the Surgery coordinator & they rescheduled me for April 21st. That is so far away. I want to ask if they can put me in sooner if they get another cancellation. Any suggestions on how to get rid of this cough & severe cold is appreciated.

My surgery is scheduled for April 1st. The doctor might have to push back the surgery due to a family emergency by a week or two. I am scheduled to have pre-surgical testing at the hospital on Wed. What happens during this testing. What tests do they do? Do they weigh you etc. Since my surgery might get pushed back do I need to reschedule this testing as well to make it closer to the actual surgery date? Still waiting to hear back from the doctor about the surgery date. Thanks for all you help.
