That means a lot to me, my parents are my biggest supporters for this. They made this possible for me. After the 5th day, things have gotten a lot easier. It seems as if my body is used to the 800 cal. per day.. I'm not complaining lol. Thank you[emoji173]️

I think you misunderstood that I did not need to do it, just that I'll miss those times. And also, if you read any further down the thread, I had said my friends support me. I know it's an adjustment I have to make. Thanks for your input.

Thank you all for your responses and especially for not being rude. I found out I've lost 10 lbs in 7 days!! I feel a little better by seeing that. I hate that these sadness waves happen but for now I'll see my friends and bring a sensible meal for myself and just keep on going

The thought of my life not being what it used to be like can be very depressing for me it seems. I have a very close friend group and we love going to the bar to play pool and eat out and drink at the lake and just have fun.. realizing now that it won't be like that for me anymore

Thanks everyone!!

Did you have previous blood work and a urinalysis for the medical/physical clearance?

So far from going through a lot of forums on here, not many people have the same pre-op requirements. Yes, the liquid diet prior to surgery is to ensure that the liver does shrink for a lesser chance of complications. However, there's no need to worry if your daughters surgeon hasn't given her one. You can always call and ask, I'm sure. Good luck to your daughter on her surgery, mine is in 10 days.

That's awesome!! Good for you!!

Just looking for someone to talk to to help raise my spirits. This pre op liquid diet has me feeling pretty sad, but I know I can do it. I just have no one that relates to how I'm feeling- which is hungry! Lol

I've slipped twice but only with baked chicken or a bite of cucumber and it's when my headaches are unbearable. I'm at the end of my 3rd day and I've lost 6lbs already [emoji51] good luck to you!! And I will!

What is your doctor specific pre-op diet?

Has anyone had any procedure (I'm getting the sleeve done 6/27) by Dr. Ernest Rehnke? I'm nervous now after finding out his malpractices and lawsuits... or any reviews on Palms of Pasadena hospital? That's where mine is taking place and again just found awful reviews..

Currently only allowed to have Optifast, broth, and other clear liquids so that's all I've had besides a couple bites of cucumber today -
Thank you... though I did cheat a little and have a few bites of plain cucumber today.. I'm feeling very down now

Gas, bloating, etc. + any traveling for the surgery?
kasemcd replied to kasemcd's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know everyone is different, I was just looking for some tips in case I happen to have the same situation as all. The 2 week pre op liquid diet is hard but today is better than yesterday. It's getting easier. Thank you for the replies! And I will definitely have a wheelchair ready as per my surgeon as we leave 5 days after surgery. -
Gas, bloating, etc. + any traveling for the surgery?
kasemcd posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm just wondering how you all felt coming out of surgery. I know it varies person to person, but I'm curious to hear from many. How was the bloating and gas feeling (I don't handle gas pains well to begin with)? I've been seeing that many people have been vomiting directly after surgery. I'm also worried about the catheter. I've never had one put in and the thought makes me freak out a little. The next part of this is I live in Massachusetts and am flying to Florida to have my sleeve procedure. How did you feel flying back home if you did? My date is June 27th and I come home July 8th (getting into Florida on June 25th). -
Yes I'm hoping that I can find a better alternative to these Optifast protein shakes.

Hi, I'm getting the sleeve procedure done in 2 weeks (June 27th). Has anyone here under 21 gotten this done? How did it affect your drinking and going out with friends? I'm not worried about any of it, just curious for tips and such. Also looking for some support buddies as this pre-op liquid diet of Optifast is awful but I'm trying to stay positive.

I cannot wait for my dense protein days [emoji7] -
No, I was called this morning to start my Optifast all liquid diet for 14 days and my date for surgery is June 27th. I wasn't told about trying it before hand.
