I am a little confused on what is considered a "normal" portion size. How much do you usually eat?

I am having my first fill this Thursday. I have a few questions . . . 1. Are there any dietary restrictions immediately before getting a fill? For example, my appointment is in the afternoon, should I fast all day or is it ok to eat breakfast and / or lunch? 2. After the fill, do you go back on liquids or mushies for a few days? 3. How long after the fill (minutes, hours, days) are you able to tell how much restriction you got from the fill. Thanks for all the help! As a newly banded person, this website give me much needed encouragement.
