  1. Today marks my one week post gastric sleeve surgery and I could not be happier! I am down 12 pounds this week. I am doing well getting 64 ounces of fluid in a day in reaching my goal of between 30 and 40 g of protein. I have been drinking the Premier protein shakes which are 30 g of protein and only 1 g of sugar. And then also I live on chicken and beef broth because I love it! I eat a lot of Popsicles and Jell-O neither of which are sugarfree base on my physician stating I needed a little bit of the sugar for the carbohydrates, as I am a diabetic. Or at least I was a diabetic before the surgery we will see how it goes. 12 pounds can truly make a huge difference as you can see from the picture below The first picture was taken in a week before surgery the second was taken this morning!
  2. I had my gastric sleeve done on June 8. So today I am three days postop. All in all I am still feeling good about the surgery. My highest weight was 332 pounds, my weight the day of surgery was 317. Surgery was hard, and recovery is harder. I'm taking it day by day I am trying my hardest to get in all of my fluids which my doctor tells me I need 64 ounces in a day and I have only managed about half of that. For me I find my saving grace is Popsicles! The gas pains are no joke! Today I was finally able to expel some gas and find a better of relief. Today, my personal goal is to try to get in more protein shakes than just water. To try to go for a little bit longer walk and just embrace The beginning of this new life I've wanted for so far. I know it will not be easy, and I will not take it for granted! Wish me luck!
