Thinking about SLEEVE...is this a regret?
dreamingsmall replied to Bigsuzy1969's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
1. No. I tried following post op diet before, could not as did not have restriction. 2. I still eat out 6 weeks post, eat a starter and take rest home, no issue. 3. No one knows other than my mum , no issue. I don't tell random people info they do not need to know not hiding it , but I dont care what anyone thinks. I wanted my mums opinion , so I told her. 4. I am allowed pasta if I want it. and bread. But I do not want it, you can not imagine it now as you have not had the surgery, but bread makes me so full, I just do not see the point now. I used to eat alot of those stuff. You could probably have a few pieces and be done with it. I know some peoples plans are low carb. I am not low carb but it happens without trying. Say I have a plate with potatoes, veg and meat, I eat the meat first, then have a bite of spinach, and I am full, so do not eat the potatoes. 5. At the end of the day you know why you want to do this surgery, for me it was for my health, to be alive and well with less health issues for my children, so I do what I can to make it work. Many people find 'Reasons' why this may not be for them. For alot it is just the fear of the unknown. I have NO regrets. I am only 6 weeks post. No longer on blood pressure meds, and overall healthier. P.s I would never Expect anyone to change their habits for me or because of me, responsibility for ourselves, and the decisions we choose to make is something we learn along the way. My friends order pizza,I was on liquids so I CHOSE to stick to my plan, its hard at first, but when you start seeing improvements in your self whatever your goals are, its exciting and worth it Goodluck with your journey. -
To eat daily, or not to eat...EGGS!
dreamingsmall replied to heycrystal2052's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I am confused, going through this thread. Is the arguing about eggs? Or something else? I have not got to the end yet, but are people saying eggs are bad, or are they fine? -

Whatever you do though, being in therapy will help , your surgeon knowing what you are dealing with etc. -
Weight loss surgery and depression
dreamingsmall replied to danybx's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It depends what is causing your depression? Some peoples weight gain causes their depression so weightloss helps. Some people weightloss makes no difference as their depression is not about that, perhaps an imbalance. The sleeve itself is an emotional rollercoaster, alot have mood swings. I have been down alot. But really happy with my sleeve ( I have been on and off meds since I was a teenager) I am not on meds now. The sleeve is something I am happy with. My health has improved. But it will not make my mental health issues go away. -

Smoking ****** & Drinking Alcohol
dreamingsmall replied to JenCab's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I used to smoke. I would not now as I would not risk a blood clot for an outing with friends , me personally not judging others, I know some who say they smoke after sleeve and they are still alive and kicking . Drinking I was told wait 3 months. -
Dont be embarrased, im six weeks+ in stopped counting now lol but if i have had a busy weekend i forget to keep sipping and wake up feeling so groggy and crap and then i realise i have not drank enough , i hope you feel better!

What happens if you do not take your vitamins?
dreamingsmall posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Obviously long term... Malnutrition. But , say.. A sleeve does not cause malabsorption issues, so is it possible to get what I need from food? If so what kind? I am 6 weeks in, as told to start vits 2 weeks in and I have taken one full day of everything as have so much to swollow, sometimes they make me feel sick. I am worried. I have not had my 6 weeks bloods yet an b12 shot yet, as had to cancel my appointment. is it needing vits because your not eating much ? as many people do not eat nutritious food and dont end up malnurished I have everything to take in a container, it feels like i find my day focusing on others that its the endof the day when i realise , then i think its too late to bother. So just want the facts and why and if it can be done through food. -
