I regret this surgery
dreamingsmall replied to QueenTiff's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree though, the emotional rollorcoaster is not something anyone can prepare for, even if mentaly you have always been stable its hard lol. it can have some dark moments for alot of us, not everyone but get a journal out and write all the things you want to happen from this journey, things you want to be able to do this wil help you see why your struggle is worth it when you get into the normal food stage it gets easier. -
I regret this surgery
dreamingsmall replied to QueenTiff's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I understand you are struggling , but do you really think its wise or fair to tell someone not to get it because of how you feeling? I understand we have all struggled. But someone is really unwell due to obestity related illnesses and you say to them dont get it? Like i said i know what you went through , but even at my lowest i could not imagine going as far as to tell someone not to get it. But I wish you luck on your journey and i am 8 weeks in and i could not care less if i am miserable sometimes my health has improved so i will never regret it. Before you snap at me, dont bother, because I am being supportive, i have two toddlers, and im a single mum and sometimes when i was in pain i was wondering whether this is worth it to cook for them try and get in my liquids i was suffering , so no one is judging you. but the bigger picture is we will be healthier people just remember that. -
How many times a day do you eat 4 ounces per meal?
dreamingsmall posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am just curious. 8 weeks post and finanly enjoy eating again * was abit of a chore at first* I am wondering can I really eat 4 ounces of food ( usually protein/spinnach) I have not tried anything like nuts or 'snack food' just would be my main food in smaller portions lol) My snack just was 2 ounces of grilled chicken a cheese stick and small amount of spinnach total 3.58ounces. Anyway I am on my second 'meal' so if i only do this three times I only have one meal left ha. Could I eat 4 ounce meals 5 times and still lose if I stick to protien /veg/cheese? Is this okay? What do you do? I have not spoke to my nut recently and at first it was 2 ounce x6 times a day and now i think i can almost get to 4 ounces i feel that means i will have to eat less ( ive never wanted to eat more lol its weird, i have found it hard to eat on a schedule and now i cant wait till the next meal time? Will this be okay for weightloss ? 4 ounce - 3 meals a day or 4 ounces 3+ meals a day which one seems best for weightloss ? Or do some of you do 2 ounce snacks instead of 4? thanks -
Lace front wigs are breathable. You itch your scalp and you can feel your scalp, its not like the wigs you imagine to not be able to to allow your head to breath.

Then no. They will rip your hair out during removal , even if they are removed correctly. Seems counter productive. Assuming you are not having your hair done for free there might be other reasons shes mentioning another option lol

Anyone have a hard time eating breakfast?
dreamingsmall replied to dreamingsmall's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow! An inspiration. I'm ready to take on that challenge!!! I have a problem reaching water goals so this is a great idea. I have started having 32 ounce before eating solid. But I will try this. I have 80lbs left to lose to be normal BMI. What do you eat for your last remaining meals Sent from my Swift 2 using BariatricPal mobile app -

dreamingsmall replied to Rs226's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am so sorry. No help but some things are not meant to be..yet and when you have your surgery you will do amazing and lose lots of weight. I'd stick to low carb until you have your date. My pre op was just a low carb plan. So your still ready when you get the call. Sent from my Swift 2 using BariatricPal mobile app -
Any light (feather) weights had surgery? Bmi 29-30??
dreamingsmall replied to Goddesslola's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
If you feel the sleeve surgery is worth it for 5 BMI points , then go for it Everyone will have there own views on it, but only you know best. How many lbs is it you need to lose till healthy weight? It seems you are pretty good at maintaining loss alot of us are not so bad at losing but bad and keeping it off, it was the case for me. I was 235 on day of my surgery no regrets, would I have done it at a BMI of 29? Nope, but many people who have a BMI of 50+ Tell me they would not have done it at a BMI of mine So we all only know about ourselves. Your goal is to prevent ill health and I get it , and respect that. If we all did it before we had problems it would have been better for most of us I would really listen to my Dr though. -
There are different types, is she suggesting a weave?Glue ins?Clip ins?

I'm never going to get this surgery---discouraged :(
dreamingsmall replied to Sfunk's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Exactly what I was thinking.. Especially as she has said she has done tests and they are telling her the same things sounds like they have tested and they have found no medical reason for the gain? But perhaps she will come back an elaborate, and know we are just trying to help as I know I used to be dead sure I was barely eating anything to gain , I Believed it. I would call that denial. But if she is sure she is only having 800 cals I would keep chases the doctors to find out whats happening, and if she has such amazing control to be eating 800 cal since march and still piling on the lbs she doesnt need wls as surelly the lbs will still pile on? -

dreamingsmall replied to Sfunk's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Unexplained weight gain as in.. You were just eating salads and the weight piled on ? Did they find a reason for this unexplained weight gain? After wls you eat about 800+ calories. If you are 100% only eating 800 calories and not losing a lb what do you feel weight loss surgery will help with? ...Unless....Your possibly eating more than 800 calories...Sometimes.. And admittedly need help with portion control like the rest of us. For Me the first step was being honest with myself. Yes I ate low calorie all day. Higher than I needed other times. It adds up. But only you know the truth. If you have a medical condition causing you to gain when you are eating in a deficit that needs to be addressed before WLS. No judgment just trying to help. Worried at 3 weeks - easily eating...
dreamingsmall replied to Daniel!'s topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
When you move onto dense protein you should be able to feel the restriction, keep up with the amount your nut said even if you feel you have more space. As you are still healing you may not know the signal for had enough. -

Stomach Stretching is a Myth
dreamingsmall replied to OperaMom's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I have not watched the video, if it is a myth, why am I seeing people saying " I have been resleeved9 which I did not think is possible to have any less stomach) because 5 years down the line after overeating the whole time, I stretched my sleeve and needed to have it re done. ) I can not imagine it is something to lie about.. -
Gained almost all my weight back
dreamingsmall replied to koppeyc's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Hugs OP. I won't say much, as there seems to be arguing no matter what post its on.. I want to say, I am so sorry for your loss, and I understand its easy to run to what has brought you comfort in the past, drastic unexpected changes (Eg, loss of a loved one , even if it was expected its not easy to come to terms with) make us want to revert to old habits that kept up feeling 'safe' , please consider bereavement counselling. My pm box is always open. -
Weldone! I almost got to 64ounces my last cup but i fell asleep damit i need an acountability for my water as i know it would really help me if i can stick at it!
