A question for those who have lost a lot of weight
dreamingsmall replied to CB31's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Sorry. I lost the person I was. And I'm glad about that lol. Obcourse your going to change alittle. I've lost almost 80lbs everyone changes towards you suddenly you go from invisible to super special and everyone wants to make you happy so yeah I've changed. I value myself more. My standards are higher.and I'm more confident. Yes I don't realise how small I'm getting till people tell me but it's not serious. I'm happy with my progress and it does take the mind awhile to catch up Sent from my Vivo 5R using Tapatalk -
Any Relationship Problems?
dreamingsmall replied to StanCounty29's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Trust me. Don't think because you have kids that should keep you together if it's an angry house hold they deserve a calm environment even if they don't witness it.yiur mood is effected. I ended my marriage and I had a 1 and 2 year old. No regrets. I'd never encourage someone to end things as it isn't easy . But if you have tried couples counseling and he's getting worse it seems like your stuck. I'm sorry Sent from my Vivo 5R using Tapatalk -

Short and Lower 200's
dreamingsmall replied to mitchjoann132010's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This makes me happy. I was ,244 on surgery day. 50lbs by 3 months 70+ lbs 6/7 month. But now it's really wanting to slow down. I'm embracing that the closer I am to goal the slower it will go. But makes me feel better that I'm doing well but who created this chart on what calculations Sent from my Vivo 5R using Tapatalk -

Pre op - 250 Surgery day 244 July 17 Now 163 Weightloss has been awsome. With bumps in the road. But generally good. Sent from my Vivo 5R using Tapatalk -
Can I ask ur stats. On Tapatalk so can't see side bar. It's so dramatic people saying someone looks sick that's not appropriate. Unless you actually looks pale and they are being concerned they should mind there own. I've lost similar amounts Sent from my Vivo 5R using Tapatalk

7 months post op and ate a whole grilled cheese
dreamingsmall replied to cassjade's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
If you are eating more than your plan advised then you are eating too much. If a whole grilled cheese is not on your plan in terms of quantities or food items then you know the answer. You gave us no information on your plan . How ever. I am 7 months post and for ME not anyone else a whole grilled sandwich would be a stupid thing for me to do. And I couldn't even do it as it would hurt. Sent from my Vivo 5R using Tapatalk -
Being at restaurants and getting asked "did you not like your food?" and wasted money/food
dreamingsmall replied to michaeli's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The children's menue are so crap in most UK restaurants I've been too just friend and dried crap my kids end up ordering bits of the adult menue lol. And I'd be interested to hear if they do these cards in UK. I've never heard someone be refused to order kids menue. But maybe depends were you are. I love my starters though Sent from my Vivo 5R using Tapatalk -

dreamingsmall replied to michaeli's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I get a free meal at work as it has a cafe The order of halloumi cous cous salad pita bread. I tell them to hold the cous cous and the pita and the salad. I'll have some hallomi tomatoe cucumber and olives. They often are super embarrassed giving me the plate as it looks empty. They do ask me if I have alergies. I simply say "no" lol Sent from my Vivo 5R using Tapatalk -

No problems. Been eating out since perhaps 3 months. No one asks me questions. I was away for four days so only ate at the hotel . I have a starter of say duck leg it's in gravy unions and spinnach. . My kids may want to try some or my mum I'll give some out before I start. Or sometimes I don't. And they will ask if I want a main and I just say no. I do have main sometimes. Usually a ceaser salad. Or I tried an avacado and feta salad the other day. It was abit awkward at first. But I don't mind now. I wouldn't want to share a meal as in order one meal between two. But I know some people prefer it. Sent from my Vivo 5R using Tapatalk -

Reasonable expectation of weight loss
dreamingsmall replied to Mattymatt's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
The best advice someone gave me is to not have expectations as even with calculating numbers our body likes to do what it wants. Sometimes id look at one person loss and be disappointed if that's what mines going to be like .. Then I'd look at another who had lost more than me so far.. and be disappointed in my self and wonder what I'd done wrong . Now.. I realise everyone's achievements is their own. We all know what our end goal is. So I focus on my self and congratulate anyone on what they have lost. But from surgery day I've lost about 77lbs and it's been about 7 months. My surgeon never talked to me about what to expect and when now he doesn't want to talk about goal weight. He just wants me to stay on plan and let the magic happen. You look great. I like to wear tighter spanx. To make my tummy flatter lol I don't know if that will work but you look fabulous Sent from my Vivo 5R using Tapatalk -
I have to disagree. I personally don't eat pasta. But I'm in the UK and alot of our hospital plans are just a well balanced diet that yes does include pasta. And I'm on a UK group on Facebook seeing people eating pasta with salad and still eat protein first etc. And the weight is falling off people many people at goal before a year though it's not a race and the admin has been at goal several years So I wouldn't be so quick to judge on what plan can and can't be a success. My plan also includes it. I just don't want it but will have a bite if I did. . We also are not told to eat 4 ounces. Just to eat small portions and not to track. I like to eat under 4 ounces but don't track but will every now and again to check in. But I have had a few bites of potatoes or rice. But I'm a healthy eater 244 surgery day and 163 7 months later so it's working for me. I do find the variety of plans interesting but think there must be success or the hospitals wouldn't have formulated the plan from thin air if it wasn't working. Sent from my Vivo 5R using Tapatalk
