Getting pregnant less than 12 mths after surgery
dreamingsmall replied to Nora S's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Lol, telling someone to wait 12 months like they are advised for safety reasons, so they can reduce the risk of a misscariage and premature labour, which I have seen, is denying them from ever having a child lol Asif I told them never to conceive lol so dramatic. I stand by everything i said. Her medical circumstance is not relevant, the rule for sleeve patients are the same. Its pretty simple. . The reason I mentioned, I was a mother is I could not imagine risking such a thing, but if you think its a good idea, hey . Get to it then. What I said is facts.Ignore everything I said, I have no reason to say wait, lol am I the one carrying the baby? lol Have the baby now then, but if the baby ends up on the special care unit being born early, when it could have been a case of reducing that risk, thats not upto me.( And no I am not wishing this on anyone before you get dramatic . I wish the op a healthy pregnancy, which is why waiting will e better. My tone is serious because this is serious. End of. I have not even read the other response as I know it will be all " You dont know my medical history" The risks associated with pregnancies before the 12 month mark do not care about your medical history lol. Bye. But cool, I should encourage someone having a baby irresponsibly , go ahead you had a sleeve a few months ago , get pregnant now ,babies are fun. I could have said that, but actually i value every baby and every life, including the op going ham about my response up there. I am not arguing back and fourth which is why I was not going to come back. Take what I said or leave it . All the best. -

Able to eat soft foods 1 week post op
dreamingsmall replied to shanicebarry's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
How many weeks are you ? After knowing all the risks of not sticking to the plan you still chose to not stick to it, perhaps you need to explore what made you take those risks all the best -

Are you saying your eating what is not on your plan for this stage? How many ounces is this? How far out are you? All I can advise that is obvious is to stick to the plan, if you are going a week ahead do not. You may feel fine but leaks etc are real, and you wont tell till its too late. If your worried to be sure something is not going wrong stick to the stages -
How many weeks post are you?

"You really should not be eating cereal" Nice of you to say. BUT you don't know each plan , and her plan may allow for cereal, so I think saying in your opinion its not a good idea, is different than telling what someone should do or should not do. I am allowed cereal on my plan but just dont think its worth it lol . But if it is on someones plan I am sure it would not be if their surgeon felt it would sabotage their plan. But if it is not on someone's plan I agree they should not be having it.

Getting pregnant less than 12 mths after surgery
dreamingsmall replied to Nora S's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Your 36, and ready to risk the life of a baby for the sake of you wanting a child asap. Perhaps motherhood is not for you right now. Use this year to prepare your self emotionally, motherhood demands a high level of selflessness. It is worth the wait, honestly. All the best. -
Getting pregnant less than 12 mths after surgery
dreamingsmall replied to Nora S's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Choosing to get pregnant, risking miscarriages, still borns, and premature births before the 12 month mark is irresponsible. It does not matter how anyones experience was the facts are there. I have two wonderful children, I am not judging you , I understand wanting a child, but if you did not think you would wait what your surgeon suggested you should not have done the surgery. An accident you have to work with the situation. But to actually consider trying, is shocking to me. I had a sleeve 4th July. If I had the sleeve and something happened to my pregnancy , when bad things can happen anyway , me actually increasing the risk, I could never forgive myself. Under 12 months your unlikely to meet your babys nutriontional needs who would choose this? Even if my doctor okayed it, I would not do it , the research and rules are there for a reason. You are not superhuman that could some how avoid the risk of premature labour, miscariages etc. Just because you want a child. I know you will respond rudely to me, but as a mother myself this post was shocking to me, and i find it selfish actually to even consider deliberatly getting pregnant before your supposed to just because some people have had healthy babies before this point the facts about the sad situations can not be forgotten, anecdotal evidence is enough for you to put a baby at risk? If me being straight up will save a baby being born prematurely then thats fine. I will unsubscribe to this post, as I know this is not what you wanted to here. -
I am asking what you are eating specifically , and what are the quantities? They say drastic weightloss sometimes our bodies need time to catch up. but it will start again. Are you reaching your liquid goals? When I drink more my weightloss starts again

I am sorry , I am alittle confused, how long is it not moving? And I would account some of that weightloss to the fact you wee extremly dehydrated. If you mean august this year and we are only in september, then I would say no, you are not in a stall . It happens to us all the no movement or up and down. What is your daily eating and fluid amounts?

The smell of me for 3 weeks made me want to puke. My mum even said I smelled different lol. My toddler would sniff me and said i smelled like someone else.

Surgery 4th July, asked me to come in at 7am, I did so. They come in and ask you questions, gave me an antisickness drug, told me not to drink or eat anything. I went into a room about 2pm, they asked me further questions. They then came to get me, lying on the bed they talked to me did my blood preasure, before i know it , I was under. I woke up did not even know it was done. I was okay but in alot of pain and feeling sick for 3 days. -

I dont feel I buy very much, I buy for me and my toddlers, yet I am constantly throwing food away as it goes off, I am buying less and less, and even the food I have meal prepped goes off lol. What things do you buy that have a longer life? Maybe you cook from frozen? I don't realise how long it will take me to eat some thing , I feel like living of eggs pepperami sticks and string cheese and my salmon in the freezer and my frozen veg instead of other things with short shelf life. Any ideas? Anyone have these issues? I meal preped alot of 2 ounce egg salad and then i dont feel like eating egg salad, then it goes of lol . and alot of my fresh veg goes off too etc. What food do you eat that has alonger shelf life?

Did You Love Your Surgeon? Did You Like Them?
dreamingsmall replied to FluffyChix's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Lol. "That any teacher can bond 100% with 20-32 individuals in their class these days is nigh on impossible." - Who said every child? I am afraid, I disagree there is a . level of bonding with the children even on a small level, if you think back to the start of a 5 year old starting reception and you think the teacher won't bond with that child lol There is nothing to debate here. I have a 4 and 5 year old. And weldone you pop into class every no and again, but anyway weldone for your volunteer hours lol. But whether you want to agree or disagree. I am sure you saw alot while you were doing your leaf blowing to have a better view of school and education that me whos in uni and has kids in school. My apologies "schools are full of *i dont know what the first word is you said* Misfits" - Thats abit mean lol They may be misfits for now, but we all find our place "If the teacher is properly qualified, has an in-depth subject knowledge, runs lessons to the curriculum/syllabus mandated by the state and the education district, has mandatory Level III First Aid and Emergency Care training and, as well, is "safe" in all respects to work with children," That is not enough. Its a complete joke that you do not think it also requires a special touch to do certain roles. Its like nurses, they have all the quals but you know make you feel good about your stay in hospital, and some make you feel like your a complete no body and are not paying attention to your actual needs. Both have qualifications , but you need more than that. Anyway I am not responding further to you as your in a mind frame of " I know everything I am right" When in reality I think yoru right for your own needs sure, but the reality is thats not the case people looking for people in these roles are not just looking at there qualifactions on paper they look at how they come across in person whether they are warm and engaging etc. Just because that is not what you require does not mean that is not what is being looked for as others clearly feel it inhances the role . A child who for example is having difficulty in school and doesnt apply themselves that teacher that they bond with or they feel special about increases there chances of being able to apply themselves when they find a teacher they can connect with, you can disagree with this all you like but I have seen it many times, it for sure isnt the highest qualified teacher that always manages to get results from a problematic child. Or its not always the most qualified nurse that gets the best results for example, holistically well being is important in the school environment , if a teacher comes across quite cold and yes very clever and whats results, that may not yeild the best results, as a teacher who is not the highest qualified but is warm and has a way with children, some teachers are better with children than others. My view is a different view to yours, mine is not wrong, its right based on my experiance, yours is right based on ... well your experiance. Great. I do think teachers have changed alot since your day though, that isn't an insult lol I know here were I am teachers have changed and are alot nicer according to the old ladies I talk to lol but change is good I think. Anyway all the best -
Did You Love Your Surgeon? Did You Like Them?
dreamingsmall replied to FluffyChix's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I am not looking to make friends with my surgeon but a basic level of being personable is important. The first surgeon I did not go with was 1 hour late to the appointment, no apology he barely made eye contact, he talked so fast and brushed over key risk factors, slowed down when it was time to discuss payment . But he seemed to know what he was doing as he was quite recommended in his profession, well trained , I am sure he is adaptable he works in many different hospitals. But him being so .. Not engaging as if I was just a body, and when you go into theatre, you are just a body, they are not making convo while you are under lol. But when I am sat here infront of the surgeon you want to be seen as a whole person. I am sure he is a wonderful surgeon. But the one that approached me in a polite manner was engaging answered my questions , explained the risks clearly etc etc. And just overall gave me a better feeling is the surgeon I went with. But I do not need to like them on a friendship level, i did not ask the guy his hobbies lol. But basic human responses of some level of warmth helps. For me though what I want for my kids teachers is no were near what I want from my surgeon lol. How are you saying your grandkids do not need to bond with their teacher ? lol I know it must have been awhile for you , but I am only 26 so I can say a teacher you bond with can make the world of difference to how well you do in a class especially for little children. But thats very interesting ,everyones different I suppose. -

Did I have a sleeve or a brain transplant?
dreamingsmall posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Staying at relatives for the weekend. They ordered Chinese food. I peeled two battered squid, and ate the squid inside ( they are tiny) , and said thank you! I am done! There eyes popped out of there head, as I always used to Finnish everything lol. I left the room , I could of fitted in more but I did not want to, it was less than 4 ounces, but I did not need that food. I suddenly thought I was in a dream world. All the stuff I could have a bite of.. But no , I am okay .. Did I have a sleeve or a brain transplant? Anyone else have these moments? Thank you sleevey!!! -

As a newbie I'm asking "What kinda site is this?"
dreamingsmall replied to celticNgel's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Oh honestly the struggle is real, its really emotional The sad truth is , sometimes there is a solution, but sometimes its like a wait it out situation , I gained 4lbs and I was feeling violent angry about it lol But a couple of days and it was gone. I NEVER made it to 2.2 ever I was told 1.5 goal to start now I try to get 2 litres but even now 10 weeks in its not easy but you gotta keep trying different temps of fluid to see if you tolerate one kind better, I drink hot drinks and warm drinks too slow so I avoid them for now , and like cold drinks. Also 2 weeks in you are still healing , if its possible for you to put your scale away for two more weeks while your body is doing all kind of crazy stuff it might help the mental aspect of things, it help sme every now and again when I get pissed of , I still do and I will many times as the preasure feels so intense wanting this to work, but deep down we know if we stick to the plan it will work keep the faith! -
