Surgery Now or Later? (Poll)
dreamingsmall replied to FluffyChix's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I had 3 weeks from consultation to surgery.(Paid Private) All this long waiting, then to wait another whole month, I would not be revved to wait another month But you seem to be really in the game and focused so you may be find waiting longer, I think its such an individual thing, its hard to say what the right thing is lol. -
Surgery Now or Later? (Poll)
dreamingsmall replied to FluffyChix's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
For me : There will always be a reason to wait, but most people are off over chrismass so will give you added time to recover, but if people are waiting so they can eat specific food lol I would be worried. You can eat a christmas dinner in a smaller portion when ever you get to the point of normal meals so I would just go for it -
Full Fat Mayo, cottage cheese, and yogurt
dreamingsmall replied to Nancy MBGC's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi, I had similar SW 244 almost 50 down from start weight, and I am not sure what my fat range is but I know it has fluctuated depending on what I am wanting to eat, but my weight did race ahead, when my fat was lower, and carbs I can't say I count either, but assume its low because I do not eat rice, pasta, bread, I am allowed it on my plan but it does not stand out to me to have it, your doing amazing can wait to get to your weight! My goal is 135, so 59lbs to go!! -
Someone made a fat girl comment to me??
dreamingsmall posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
But.. Not about me.. They were talking about these 3 women infront of us.. It was not overly offensive but more like why bother mentioning them they are fine as they are if they are happy, anyway, I was shocked because no ones ever done a fat joke infront of me because I am fat.. I am still fat! I was like are you blind? your saying a fat joke about someone else when im fat too , and they were like "* confused face" your not fat at all" ( I am 196lbs and 5 foot 2) Anyway it makes me feel uncomfertable that people just make fat jokes about strangers, this is what people are saying about me and have done, but then it also felt weird because this person did not know me when I was bigger, but it was feeling weird them telling me a fat joke as i still feel as big as i started out so the whole thing was odd. Just a weird moment. -

dreamingsmall replied to dreamingsmall's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
No.. they did not call someone a fat girl , they made a not so nice comment because they were fat lol. I am of African origin, and here in the UK its no compliment a fat joke lol But I dont actually find Adelle fat anymore . she is super curvy and perhaps overweight but I would not say shes fat now lol . -
What was your first CHRISTMAS after WLS like?
dreamingsmall replied to dreamingsmall's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Great questions, I am lucky I have never COOKED christmas dinner, ( lucky no thanks giving in UK) I am not the chef in my family lol, and no one will pressure me, so I am lucky! I just imagine not being interested in food then christmas day, just one biting all day literally one bite here one bite there as you cant fit in much in one go lol I am not a sweet food kind of person but i love appetisers. -
Losing dedication for surgery.
dreamingsmall replied to olympia25's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had doubts .. 3 months in almost 50lbs down. I loved food , was an addict, all I thought about was food. Now.. Food? I can not even be bothered to eat it, who am I? I would not have believed it would be true, I have my moments, were I miss binging but then I remember how miserable I was, the weightloss will keep going, the old food I used to eat will still be there, if I want a bite, and I have had a bite, and then decided yuck, it was not worth it, or I have a bite, happy with that bite but leave it there. Backing out would have been the easy way out for me ( Not talking about anyone else, do whats best for you) Because I was always running away, I was just scared, but I went ahead, and there will always be an OHOH moment even after, did I do the right thing? But I do not even believe I have lost this weight till I try something on that was tight not long ago, and now lose. food is not the most important thing in the world now, health is . On a shallow note, I like feeling and looking good, already people are acting like I am super hot, when I was ignored not long ago by strangers in certain enviroments. its very odd. Thats not what is important to me , but it shows me the change is not inside of me , my weight is changing, my health related to weight has improved. -
I dont know weeks but my surgery was 4th July, you have done amazingly, gain can be many things. Stalls happen regularly for us all. What are you eating and are you hitting water goals?

dreamingsmall replied to Lacecute's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Early on into the sleeve I had wished i went for the bypass, but now i know i did the right thing! I almost went for the band, but my surgeon said against it, I am glad i went with the sleeve as i realise i need more than the band to help fix my problems hehe , wow 85lbs is soo amazing! -

7 months out is there still stalls
dreamingsmall replied to Kierajay's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Try not to make excuses, I am not being harsh, but taking responsibility and ownership is the only thing that will help you, yes you work full time jobs that must be hard, but before you have a pee before bed, weigh your food, put them in packages, then eat the same thing for a few days that simplifies it enough. It really is not a long winded afair. I am just being honest, not judging you, as I dont weigh my food unless things are not on track. -

Liquid Diet Long Term
dreamingsmall replied to GlowingGal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You have already said you can not liquid diet forever. It does not matter what research says, its about you, and someone can do a liquid diet , introduce slowely and keep the weight off as I have seen people do who have a normal relationship with food, its only my assumption that if you had a normal relationship with food you would not be at this point. The reason its working is because its short term, but how will you eat for the rest of your life? -

Benefits of Fasting
dreamingsmall replied to Sherry Rice's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
We all have a different definition of fasting, like fasting for lent, but for me fasting is fasting from food, I would not say oh im fasting, but then be eating solid food. But I do fast ( water only) one day a week to help with healing purposes and it is helping -

Liquid Diet in Public

I wonder why people cant simply say " they are not hungry" Anymore? I used to actually force myself to eat at social gathererings even when I was not hungry because thats just what you do lol. If saying that is too uncomfy how about " sorry i have a case of gastroenteritis if i eat it will give me the shits we dont want that at a wedding" Goodluck -
Hi all! I have not been under 200lbs for a long time. My surgery weight was 244lbs ish and after a stall the weight start pouring off me. I am so happy to reach my first goal! it was 197lbs so to be under 200lbs Today I am 196!!! I have had a hard time the last month or abit more with health problems that started after the sleeve but not because of the sleeve but the sleeve does not help with the health issuse, but I am remaining super positive and focusing on these victories!
