A.M. or P.M. Fills--Is there a difference?
Criss Kellogg replied to donna_42's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I too have experienced what you described. My last fill was late in the day too and the dr tried twice and then found it, but prior to that he was right there, no problems. I didn't think too much of it until i read your post. I'm with you and will only schedule my fills in the A.M. Criss -
Have you folks looked at the stats? They are amazing. Thanks P'Nut for all the updating and record keeping. Criss

Dawg, That's awesome! I try and always have the good stuff handy too. Just have to make sure it gets implemented! Way to go! Criss:)

Hello Gone for Good Club friends! My name is Criss and I am 45 years old. My husband and I have been married for almost 19 years, and we have 2 boys ages 17 and 8. (It took us that long to get over the first one before we thought about having another one), No seriously, I was dx with PCOS 18 years ago, and then not many docs even knew too much about it. I have been heavy since about age 12, and that is a good part of the reason. There were times when I was able to loose some weight, I think the most was about 35 pounds, and then it would come back, you all know that story. I had been investigating WLS for about 2 years, when I decided to have the Band. It is one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life. I had my surgery on December 1, 2005 and I have lost 30 pounds to date. I joined an exercise club and I attend Water aerobics class 3 times a week. TOday, I started my one mile walking tape and will do that the days I don't go to the club and work out (at least 2 times per week). I live in Michigan, and it's still cold and nasty here, but when the spring comes, watch out, then I'm outside doing anything and everything. I am a social worker and manage 2 Alzheimer's Units at the Assisted Living Community I work for. My husband is a Financial Analyst. My oldest son Ian, is a musician and graduates from High school on June 10th and so I am already beginning to plan a party. If any one has any great tips about a graduation party, I'm all ears. My youngest son Trevor, is a student and all around great kid. Enough about me tonight. Nice to meet you all. Here are my stats: H- 245 s- 241 c- 211 G- 175 (-30):clap2:

Count me in! I have noticed a few old, bad habits begining to rear their ugly heads and this is just the thing to help me put them to rest, hopefully once and for all. Thanks for offering it!

Count me in too. I have noticed some "old" habits begin to rear their ugly heads. I need to put them to rest and this challenge will definately help me do that. Thanks for offering it!

Can I ask a REALLY stupid question?
Criss Kellogg replied to LilAngel's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi Angel, I am like the last post. I burp. I too don't know when i'm full. It does sound weird, but i know now, that that's what got me into trouble in the first place. I have never been able to tell i was full unless "stuffed". I measure my food into 1/2 cup containers and i eat the hard protien first. Sometime i can eat about 3/4 of a cup of whatever, but when i burp, i stop. I figure it is some kind of signal. I have not thrown up yet and really don't want to, so i'll heed the warning. Take care. Good luck. Hang in there. You've come a long way so far. Take care. Criss

i'm with wanabealoser. Almost the same situation. I had my cpap for about 2 months, did not get used to it at all, and then since surgery it was very annoying and i would pull it off all night and not sleep. I too am not snoring like i was and i have lost 2o pounds to this point. I also was amazed with the on-going expense. Wow. Criss

Hi Dar, I too had surgery at the Barix clinic in Ypsi. My band was not filled at time of surgery. There was a good deal of restriction from the band itself not to mention the swelling fromthe surgery. I just had my first fill today, and Dr is pretty conservative, only giving 1 cc at a time. I can return in 2 weeks if it hasn't helped give more restriction. I have only been able to eat about 1/2 cup of food at a time and that would fill me up for 2 1/2 to 3 hours. Strange, and weird, but awesome  . I think you are the one who said you live inthe Flint area. I do too and if you'd like to PM me, i'd love to talk about starting a support group in the area. Chat soon, Criss

Hello all. I too am a newbie! I was banded on 12-1-05 and i have lost 15 pounds. I live in Grand Blanc, Michigan and had my surgery at the Barix Clinic in Ypsilanti, Michigan. My surgeon was Dr. Jon Schram and he and everyone at the clinic were and are wonderful. I go for my first fill on January 10. I am married and have 2 boys ages 17 and 8. I have 3 cats. I am a social worker and manage two Alzheimer's Units at an assisted living community in Flint. I am very glad to have found this site and feel like everyone here is well aware of what we are all going through. Thank you all for the words of wisdom I have already read and I look forward to many more.

Hi Dar, I too was grateful to find this site. I am a newbie, having been banded on 12-1-05. I live in Grand Blanc, Michigan, just out of Flint. I had my surgery done at the Barix Clinic in Ypsilanti. I spent 24 hours in hospital and came home on a Friday and by Monday didn't need to take the pain meds they sent me home with. :cheeky . I went back to work 12 dyas later. Still a bit sore, but feeling well. I feel great now, and have lost 15 pounds that will never come back onto this body. I have my first fill on 1-10-06 and looking forward to that. I had the surgery for many of the same reasons you did. I also have two kids and need to be a mom for many years to come. This is an awesome site and there are many more. Where are you having your surgery? Take care! Criss

Hello. I just found the site and am so excited. I have been to other sites but they service all WLS patients, and sometimes it wasn't always supportive. I was banded on December 1, 2005 and am now among the land of the lost. I have lost 14 pounds, that will never come back on my body! I look forward to meeting you and Happy New Year to everyone.

December Bandings....How is everyone doing?
Criss Kellogg replied to Dawn NH's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hello fellow December banders. I was banded on December 1, 2005 and am doing very well. I feel great and have started to exercise more than just walking. I have lost 14 pounds and am mostly looking forward to my first fill on 1-12-06. For all you newbies, it gets better. Take it easy and use this time to get yourself into the right frame of mind to decide what chages you need to make for this "tool" to be successful. (if you haven't done this already). Together we can make 2006 the best! Criss
